Such a Nice Experience! Easy to call for a reservation, cash or check Only! Mr. Willie Brewer met us at the entrance, easy to drive in to a pull through site with good hookups! Pretty level, lots of water pressure- bring a pressure regulator. Yes there are some long-terms here, but all-in-all, a good overnight! We would certainly stay here again!

Last minute choice to camp here and were not disappointed. Mark is so very helpful (call ahead for his directions - Do Not Use your GPS!).
Pros: Full hookups, quiet spot, close to river, lots of hammocks and on the river's edge for relaxing, the lower campground has the benefit of every site looking towards the river. Gassaway, Flatwoods & Sutton were nearby to explore.
Cons: Gravel sites, not quite level. Long single-lane gravel road to the lower campground.
Overall, we would stay here again.

Nice park with easy access to Savannah and Hilton Head and the Low Country. Paved roads, unpaved sites with concrete patios. Nice restroom, shower house, wished for more time to try the pool; lake alongside as well as a dog park. Our site was a back-in 50 amp with FHU’s on hard-packed sandy dirt with an oversized patio, picnic table & fire ring. Gated campground for better security, nice staff - super clean all around. Our only complaint was the lack of cell coverage for our phones & hotspot.

Stayed for 3 nights in February. Full Hookups, good water pressure, consistent electric. As others have said, the WiFi is not that good.
Cons: Spaces are fairly tight. Gravel sites, not quite level. I-35 highway noise (although it was too cold to have the windows open to hear it).
Pros: Easy access off interstate. Pull through sites in front of park. Very friendly and helpful staff. Dog park and nearby dog wash area! Little golf area and a catch & release fishing on site. The cutest herd of goats in the back area with tons of brand new babies this week! Free breakfast cooked to order with coffee, milk and juice! They are building covered seasonal parking in the very back of the property....weekend campers don’t go that far back.. Close enough to Waco to explore!
We would stay here again.

First, you pass many "mom and pop" style campgrounds on the highway here; do not despair, this is a very nice campground! They are building a new office so the temporary office is a bit of a mess, the new one will also be nice! Campgrounds here are 50A FHU concrete pads and patios with little shade (trees are still very young) with a big playground and nice clean shower house. The Niangua River runs along this campground, they also outfit you for float trips or fishing at the office. Further down the road is a chapel, primitive and 30A only sites in a second campground.
The grounds are well cared for and the river is very clean. Bennett Springs SP is just west of this campground and they release hundreds of trout every day during the fishing season. The area off the gravel bar at the campground has many trout for the fishermen in your crowd. That same gravel bar is a wonderful place to sit in your chair and R-E-L-A-X.
We will definitely return here. Site #38 is the first site across from the river and coveted by all!

Stayed here for 2 weeks to visit our son; CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS CAMPGROUND.
PROS: FHU, have to request a 50 amp site. I made my reservation months in advance online, would not guarantee a site #, even after I called a week ahead to confirm. Arrived to a 30 amp site that was too tight, had to go back & complain to get moved to a 50 amp site.
If you like tall pine trees and an occasional bear, this is a good place for you.
CONS: No discount for extended stay = $54/night
Weak WiFi, could not log on most days. West AT&T signal, no Verizon. Tall trees = difficult DISH signal.
Terrible entrance, either of 3 possible choices, not well marked from Hwy. 50. Rough roads, partly paved, so many pine needles it was hard to tell road from not road. Poor signage for the interior roads to find your site, roads wind in and around all the trees, sites not well marked.
Dusty dirty sites, not paved at all.
Airport just behind campground, lots of helicopter and plane noise. Airport is used for military high-altitude training at times with heavy helicopter traffic.
Lots of staff, don't know what they do all day, did not seem to care about guests or their needs.
Not many RV choices in South Lake; but I would rather not stay here again.

What a wonderful find! Rodney & Amy have done so much to make this campground a relaxing home for us. We cannot wait to return here for our next stay!

Pros: Wooded sites, fire ring, picnic table, fully paved with asphalt and concrete. Full hookups. Five bars of AT&T service (the tower is directly behind our site). Strong WiFi (we have direct sight to the antenna and a WiFi Ranger Mini). Hiking trail through the woods all around the park perimeter. Log cabin office / camp store / meeting hall. Six private cabins on the property also available. Propane available. Saluda River fishing access across from the campground entrance with canoes available. Amazing hiking all around the area with multitudes of waterfalls. Clean restrooms with attached laundry.

Note: the next are not Cons, but also not Pros: Narrow entrance between gate posts. We fit easily but it is a little unnerving. Site entrances are a little tight between trees; however Rodney is a great parking guide. Located between Cesar's Head and Table Rock Mountains; this is side of a mountain parking.....everything is uphill.

Decent RV park right off i-80; however our site was on the farthest row from the highway and, with our A/C running, we could not hear it at all. Gravel drives with many steep speed bumps, gravel sites with grass all around. They do not allow rugs to be put out on the grass, so the dogs and we tracked wet grass in the coach with us. 50 amp, FHU's, local WiFi was very weak, AT&T tower just behind the park. A very small and another larger fenced dog parks with waste bags and receptacles nearby. Pool, basket ball, tennis, shuffleboard and a playground onsite (we did not use any). Store with pizza and beer, souvenirs, etc.. Daily trash pickup.
Easy access to the highway and Lincoln & Omaha for us to work. Great little breakfast diner in Waverly: Honey Creek, and a wonderful smokehouse in Greenwood: Parker's. Both well worth your time!
We would stop here again when we are working in the area.

Wonderful place to winter! Nice paved deluxe sites, level grass standard sites, FHU’s 50 amp service, good spacing between sites some with shade. Heated pool and nice clubhouse; most of the winter residents are return quests and have a nice camaraderie in the late afternoon. Rather remote (closest town with shopping is 41 miles), but that is part of the appeal here. Ft. Myers and Ft. Lauderdale are both about 1 hour away.
This may be our winter home when in Florida!

Our first stop here was the first night we bought our first RV and there are great memories for us here. Sites are fairly level on gravel, you might need some jack pads to level up. Full hookups with 50 amp service in a pull-through sites. Very good campground WiFi, restrooms and laundry site available (we did not use them), dog waste bags provided and lots of space to walk the Corgis.
But — pay attention — there is a new farm-to-table restaurant just about 1 long block away — Backwoods Crossing — with some of The Best Food anywhere! It is not cheap but well worth every penny! This makes this our new Go-To Place when in Tallahassee!
We cannot wait to stay here again!
