What a wonderful find! Rodney & Amy have done so much to make this campground a relaxing home for us. We cannot wait to return here for our next stay!

Pros: Wooded sites, fire ring, picnic table, fully paved with asphalt and concrete. Full hookups. Five bars of AT&T service (the tower is directly behind our site). Strong WiFi (we have direct sight to the antenna and a WiFi Ranger Mini). Hiking trail through the woods all around the park perimeter. Log cabin office / camp store / meeting hall. Six private cabins on the property also available. Propane available. Saluda River fishing access across from the campground entrance with canoes available. Amazing hiking all around the area with multitudes of waterfalls. Clean restrooms with attached laundry.

Note: the next are not Cons, but also not Pros: Narrow entrance between gate posts. We fit easily but it is a little unnerving. Site entrances are a little tight between trees; however Rodney is a great parking guide. Located between Cesar's Head and Table Rock Mountains; this is side of a mountain parking.....everything is uphill.

In trying to describe this campground, I must first explain that there are two sections to it, each of with have a distinctive feel and look.

I will start with the upper section, nearest the common areas, office and bath house.

Upper Sites: This section of the campground (sites 1-5, plus 7 & 8, along with six cabins ("tiny homes") feels like they truly belong to the campground and you feel like you are a part of the action and "family" the whole time you are here. These sites are either level or have concrete leveling pads that you back up or drive up on to and you are magically level without having to use leveling blocks. Nice. And, the sites are well-equipped with light posts, grills, decks, tables and chairs at the sites but many of those niceties have seen better days. These amenities could all stand to be upgrade/updated. There are some seasonal campers in some of the upper sites, but that didn't detract from enjoying our stay.

Lower sites: The lower sites are geographically separated from the upper sites, bathouse and office by an 1/8 mile or so walk down the hill. They are close to the entry gate, main road and stream, but have much more of a primitive "State Park" feel and look. For example, sites 6 and 9-14 are gravel, and are nowhere near as level like the others. In fact site #6 is a pull-through that is noticeably sloped (maybe 8" or so out of level?!). This one especially appears to be a site of last resort for those that show up unannounced during the busy season.

The campground office is very nice, and includes a camping store built-in. Right outside, the campground has a nice common area with a community fire pit and seating. The separate bathouse consists of two small uni-sex rooms, each with a very clean shower stall, toilet and sink and space heater to help with the morning chill. The paper supplies are well-stocked.

The campground does have access to a deck overlooking the Saluda river, but much of the river in this area is posted private property. The "real" fishing takes place up and over the mountains just into North Carolina (about 40 minutes drive north).

My wife and I ate nearly all meals out (as we tend to do), and found lots of neat mom-and pop restaurant choices in Travelers Rest which is 20 minutes South, and also up in Hendersonville, NC (40 minutes North).

The updated (and very welcoming) common areas along with the friendliness of the owners and their true willingness, along with the allure of the seclusion and many large trees to help make your visit the best it can be.

Bottom line...this place will may never be mistaken for "Disney's Fort Wilderness" of the SC upstate area, but, it is a decent place to stay if you desire quick access to the upstate S.C. mountains and State Parks.

Solitude Pointe RV Park certainly lives up to its name. We enjoyed two weeks of quiet and refreshing downtime here. The park is very well kept and the on-site owners are very gracious and accommodating. The shower and laundry facilities are spotless.

The park is small with only 14 RV sites. Most of the sites offer some privacy and are fairly level. Wifi is good and fairly fast. We stayed here in a 41 foot coach. Getting through the park is a bit tight for big rigs, but can be done without any problems. The park is secluded, but access is good if you don't mind driving for many miles on two-lane foothills type roads. All the main access roads are plenty wide and in good shape.

There are lots of things to do near the park such as hiking and beautiful state parks, many with waterfalls. The closest town with significant grocery shopping is about 25-30 minutes away, so you're a bit in the boonies. But quiet and beautiful it is. There are a few restaurants within a ten minute drive that are very good home cooking type places.

We will definitely be staying here again.

We have stayed at Solitude Point three times now and would go back in a heartbeat! Very clean, super nice owners, and convenient to hiking, shopping, Asheville, Hendersonville, Travelers Rest and Greenville!! Short drive to all! For hiking we love Caesar's Head and Table Rock State Park.

Solitude Point lives up to its name, nice little hiking trail around the park, very quiet, and a nice common area which the owners have a community fire on Saturday night. There is a playground for children, but the children that were there were all very nice, having a good time! (I'm a teacher, so children at recess don't bother me!) Full hook ups, but we used the bathhouse, which was very clean! Nice little camp store with the necessities! Overall, we would highly recommend Solitude Point and look forward to our next visit!

We have recently started camping after a break of 30 years. We read reviews and chose to try Solitude Pointe. Best decision we could have ever made. This family run campground is just that “family run.”

Our stay was more than we ever expected, clean, friendly and very helpful. Honestly, we really don’t care if we ever go anywhere else, but we will. If the sites we chose to visit are half as nice as Solitude Pointe we will be pleased.

The problem with staying at Solitude is getting spoiled! I would recommend SP to anyone! I hesitate to make this recommendation out of selfishness. I don’t want it to be filled when I want to go.....

My husband and I went Saturday night, August 29 and left Monday morning, the 31st. It was beautiful, quiet, extremely clean. We did pay I think $25 dollars extra for the hot tub. It was filled the day we arrived. Everything was wonderful. The sheets were so soft! I meant to inquire about where they bought them. Cute gift shop. We did end up going to a motel on Monday in TN. It was such a let down compared to the cabin. I recommend Solitude Pointe to everyone. We are planning our next vacation there already.

We had a great time at this campground. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The site is clean and well kept. Bath houses were immaculate and laundry was available. We appreciated the peaceful wooded property with trails and river access available.

We stayed 3 nights here & had a very pleasant stay. The owners could it be more friendly. We were escorted to our site upon arrival. Our site did not have sewer hookup, but he told us he had a portal dumping station he could come by to use for us if we needed it. The bathhouse near our site, was very clean, and consisted of two small individual bathrooms, with showers.
Our site was a gravel pull-through & perfectly level. We had a large picnic table under the canary of the trees & was very pleasant sitting under at any time of the day. Easy set up!! Cell service & Wi-Fi was extremely spotty. We enjoyed our stay very much!! The only reason for not giving a 5 star review is not have sewer at our site.
