This brand new park, still under development, is on its way to being 5-star. Near Brevard, it is close to so much, including the Pisgah National Forest. Nice sites, clean bathhouse, laundry, partial hookups with a dump onsite, and great owners. Rustic cabins and an Airbnb are also on site. There is some road noise, but it's easy to ignore.

Although there aren't many RV sites, this is a great new campground. Loads of room, clean and level sites, and it can handle big rigs. Rangers are a constant sight, and they're very friendly and helpful. Trails are nice, and not overly strenuous. Raven Rock itself is impressive. The only downside is that there is no trail yet that connects the campground to the park itself. (I haven't downgraded my rating for this because I was told they're working on it.) The only way to get to the park is by road, which is a long walk. Going by car isn't an option because the park is normally at capacity by early morning, and all cars have to stand in line. Campers are given passes so they can walk in without the wait.

This is a very nice campground with a variety of sites. We were in section A, the outer edge of which is shaded. Sites are far from level, but we had only mild difficulty overcoming it. Our hookups were beyond the back corner of our site, which is unusual, but we could reach them. We saw a couple of sites that we might prefer in the future.
Watch out for the tall speed bumps on the way to the campground. Golf course, tennis courts, marina, and more are very close by.

Price paid does not reflect weekday discount. This new park was well designed, and everybody we had contact with was very nice. During the week there were many open sites, so it was really quiet. Will be better when the trees grow to provide more shade. Lots of activities nearby, as well as restaurants and shopping. We chose to go the the alpaca farm not far away.
We usually stay at public campgrounds because we like the atmosphere better and the extra room, but we'll probably be back to this private park.

We stayed in a partial hookup site on the lake, and liked the view and watching the baby geese. The beautiful Swannanoa River runs right through the campground in addition to two lakes. These sites are way too small and close together though. Fire ring was right behind the camper and not safe to use. Our toad had to be parked sideways in front of the RV in order to get it on the site. Neighbors were up talking under our bedroom windows until after 2 am. After seeing them, I don't know why anybody would want to stay in the more expensive sites that had no view and were packed like sardines. The lake sites are the only option as far as I'm concerned.
As mentioned in other comments, the dump station was terribly designed and any larger RV would have great difficulty turning around before or after using it.
On the good side, the Blue Ridge Parkway is just a few miles down the road, cell service is excellent, WIFI is good, and there are cable hookups as well.

Had a nice stay here, but sites are too close together and too short. We had to pull our car up to the picnic table beside the RV. Lots of barking dogs. Hills are steep for older folks. Zero over-the-air TV reception and weak cell signal.
Pool, mini-golf, clean bathhouse. I was very disappointed that I didn't find the goats until the last night.
Good location for Appalachian State University activities and mountain exploring. Access via narrow, steep road.

Price reflects PA discount. We stopped here overnight when traveling I-85. Park is clean, well maintained, and well landscaped, especially in the section of pull-through sites which are big-rig friendly and have full hookups, gas grills, wifi, and free cable.
Most other sites appear to be long-term rentals, and they are well kept sites. The only downside I saw to this campground is the lack of showers.

This was our second overnight here. It's a great park close to interstate. Lots of long-term residents, but special row for overnights. Each site has full hookups, a picnic table, gas grill, and exterior lighting. Self-serve check-in after communicating with owner via phone and text. Love the sites facing the big horse pasture, with covered seats to sit and watch. The only thing lacking is a bathhouse.

Quoted price includes Passport America discount. This is a self-service cash-only park with full hookups. Good sites, but most have no shade. Appears to have lots of long-termers. The single bath/shower was locked. No amenities. Good for an overnight, but I wouldn't stay much longer.

Nice little basic campground. Full hookups, pull-throughs. and we were lucky to be in the shade. Some really big motorhomes appeared to be staying for awhile. Convenient location. And I like being able to visit with the four cute donkeys kept beside the campground.
