Price paid does not reflect discount. We had a beautiful view of Philpott Lake from our campsite above the water. Backing our small rig into the site was rather difficult because of the narrow road and no room to swing. The people across from us had to move a car, and we had to do the same thing for someone else who came in later. As mentioned previously, the access to the campground is 5+ miles of a narrow, steep, and very curvy road. There's one hairpin turn that long rigs would have trouble with.
We enjoyed our stay. Drove to the Blue Ridge Parkway to see Mabry's Mill one day, and drove to the impressive dam on another. While in the campground, we thoroughly enjoyed the view of the lake. Once in, the campsite was nice.

Nice family atmosphere here. Sandy, wooded sites on a small lake. Some sites are tight to back into, but ours was fine and we had good distance from other campers. Nice trail through ancient towering pine trees. Love the isolated area, but the final road coming in, although paved, is more potholes than road.

This brand new park, still under development, is on its way to being 5-star. Near Brevard, it is close to so much, including the Pisgah National Forest. Nice sites, clean bathhouse, laundry, partial hookups with a dump onsite, and great owners. Rustic cabins and an Airbnb are also on site. There is some road noise, but it's easy to ignore.

Pull-throughs with full hookups. Plenty of room in each site. Drainage after a rain is very good. Cable and wifi available, but wifi is slow. Channel selection on cable was a bit disappointing.
Hookups are at the very back of the site, which may be a bit inconvenient for some rigs. Be sure to come with extensions just in case.
There's a timer on the lights in the bathhouse, so if you're in there after dark, don't be surprised if it times out. The porch light still shines in, but you'll have to go turn the inside light on again.
Be sure to follow the campground's directions instead of your GPS. There's an awful intersection that it's best to avoid.
Very nice park. If you're lucky, you may see the group of turkeys helping to clean the sites.

Price does not reflect discount. This is mostly a tent campground and large RVs wouldn't even be able to maneuver the campground roads. Small RVs can fit in a few spots. There are no hookups.
The river is beautiful, and there's a very nice beach. We saw multiple fly fishermen downstream as well. The wooded canopy over the campground is really nice, and there is reasonable distance between campsites.
The campground trail must not have been used in a long time. We tried this short hike, and spots were totally overgrown. There were several trees fallen across the trail as well. Condition is much better along the river's edge, but still very narrow. I reported this to the office, and they passed the buck and showed no interest in getting word to the Forest Service.
My big complaint was traffic noise from the main road (Hwy 80), which wraps around and through the campground. It was excessively loud. The worst part was that this was a weekend, so loud motorcycles were on the road. There was no way to enjoy this beautiful setting with all that constant roaring and noise.
