This campground has improvements that are ongoing and planned. The small pool (residential size) is planned to be replaced with a larger community size probably by 2023. The showers could use an upgrade like the restrooms (not together). The managers are real nice and helpful. There are staff & work-campers that do a good job. They have a 'honey bucket' service that comes around to sites that do not have full sewer. The drives around the camp are maintained and good gravel and so are the sites. The driveway from the county road is rough even with potholes being filled and it is narrow for passing. This CG has an arm gate with code, also has video monitoring. There are seasonal campers and several 'local' campers but not too trashy. Their is a hiking trail which could use some maintenance. The little glen by the creek is relaxing. Provisioning is close in New Albany or Johnstown. Tractor Supply & Kroger in Johnstown, Ace Hardware & Meijer's, Target, Home Depot in New Albany. For Walmart, Lowe's is in Westerville and of course large mall shopping in Columbus. Don't miss the world famous Columbus Zoo & Wilds Safari.

Park is ok, but not the best for longer than an overnight. Too close to US101 but conveniently close to Tillamook and all it has to offer. Consequently we didn't spend much time outside at our site but ventured to all the sites such as the Cheese factory.

Surrounded by farm land, Woodside is a surprising oasis between Cleveland & Akron OH. Cuyahoga NP is a short drive. Provisioning requires a bit of a drive in different directions depending on what you're looking for. Costco is in Boston Heights, Target, Lowes & Walmart are in Streetsboro, Tractor Supply is in Ravenna as examples. Woodside has a well developed man-made lake with a groomed beach, water toys & rentals. Park is open for day-use by locals so can be crowded in the summer. Lake also offers catch & release only fishing. Game room is off the charts with state of the art electronic games & some old-school like Foosball. Decent laundry, restrooms & showers, but could use an upgrade. Sites include seasonal mix of park models, TT's, & Class A's with travel temporary sites, some spacious some close together. Drives & sites are gravel; some sites have no grass. Decent utilities but the WiFi offered by SkyWeb is not included in the daily rental. AT&T cell service seems to outperform Verizon but both are acceptable for streaming in addition to regular cell calls. Camp has about six 'loops' or RV "neighborhoods" interspersed with woods & open spaces. Camp also offers seven cabins for rent and 10 tent-only sites all within there own areas. Camp offers three playgrounds in their respective areas. There is a hiking trail but not on the camp map (we never journeyed it to the end).

Location is right off the interstate, so there is noise. Campground is a good resort location for families especially for children. Lake has lots of floating fun and good beach, but no lifeguard. Good overnight with easy access off interstate. There is only one bathhouse and it is on the far side of the lake away from most of the RV spaces. There is no parking at the bathhouse, you have to either walk all the way around the lake (if you're on the West side where most of the sites are) or park at the main entrance overflow parking. In either case, if it's 95deg out with 95% humidity then what's the use of a shower when you walk? The rules & procedures are a bit draconian. Before even arriving you must fill out an on-line waiver. Usually this document, or one like it, is filled out at the office. CG is accredited as a Good Sam but unlike other GS accredited CG's who add the discount at registration, Caboose states "you'll get a refund after you leave". It's been a week and our discount has not been applied to our credit card. Besides the usual CG rules, Caboose requires proof of insurance for boats & golf carts and some violations are met with $100 fines. Sites are gravel, some with concrete patio. Driveways are good gravel and maintained well. Local towns are ok for provisioning, but Lafayette is not too far away for city-sized businesses.

This campground is more for weekenders & local vacationers than for overnight or weekly RV'ers. Lots of seasonal spaces occupied mostly on the weekends. Good place for kids, nice playground, games & pool. There is only one bathhouse for the entire CG so you need to drive if you're in one of the far sites and then there is limited parking around the bathhouse & laundry. Some sites were 30amp, some 30 & 50amp. The staff was nice and accommodating. Because we reserved late in the season due to changes, we were assigned 'overflow' which was only one site overlooking a meadow with only water & 30amp. Fortunately we took a drive from our previous CG to check this a couple days before scheduled arrival. Glad we did. The driveway going down to that area had overgrown limbs that would have scrapped our trailer roof & sides and there were ruts in the drive making arrival and departure very rough. We then negotiated for an alternative and was given #17 and it looked ok. However, the day we arrived with trailer and after unhooking and attaching the electrical to 50amp, the surge protector indicated 5vac on the ground so we changed to a 30amp at #8. The 30amp was not consistent as our solar/batteries were having to compensate more than usual. Because most sites are seasonal they are not mowed by the CG, only the common areas are mowed. We carry a weed eater so we cleaned up our area as best we could. Most neighbors were friendly even-tho most were only there on weekends. They did have game activities mostly on weekends and good walking trails, however, everything needed maintenance. Trees all around the sites were full of dead limbs and any good wind storm will surely bring some down. All the drives need grading and maintenance. Many sites need new gravel as grass is growing within the existing. Some sites will flood during heavy rains, some sites have no grass due to heavy shade, others are in direct sunlight. Provisioning is best in South Bend including a very nice laundromat.

The pull-through sites 308-316 are designated "Deluxe" 50-amp full hookups. "Deluxe" they are NOT. Too close to each other and most are not level. Gravel pad and some wood framing around gravel for patio. If/when we stay here again we will request either pull-throughs 166-273 (better "Deluxe") or back-ins 132-142 all 50-amp full HU'a. CG has a lot of options for RV's & Tent campers in addition to cabins. Good hiking trails around in addition to the driveways. Lots of activities for kids with playgrounds, open field, & 2 pools, one for adults. Bathhouses & restrooms were ok, but could use an upgrade in the stalls. Entrance is arm gated with card access, exit is automatic. Large pavilion & group activity buildings. We looked at several CG's in the area and this one seems to be the largest and best for all around use. Eby's is close to shopping & touristy areas such as Shipshewana, Elhart, Bristol; the RV Museum is in Elhart and not to miss; and if visiting your camper or RV manufacturer this is a good location. We didn't stay at our camper as we toured all over including the Grand Design factory.

This campground is a member's only RV Park for the RV Odd Squad. It lay dormant for several years and through many days & hours of volunteer and contracted work has restored the old section to it's once grand awesomeness, renewed and added drives and some 30 new sites; new wifi, electrical, plumbing and sewer connections throughout the camp. Work continues as improvements to trails, community hall and other areas. The drive from the main County road is narrow and could use widening and improvement. The chicken ranch next door has been promised to close, if not, the aroma may be problematic for most especially to the new sites by the entrance. But above all it is quiet and peaceful especially by the two creeks. If you're not a member of the Odd Squad check into their links and YouTube channels.

{Dates Stayed: December 31, 2023 - January 1, 2024} Yes, in an orange grove and you can pick all you can eat!! Nice RV Park, friendly office staff and they offer a Military discount. Paved drives level gravel sites. Would be nicer if they had concrete patio for the picnic table. Had we not been on a time crunch, we would have stayed longer. If you're fueling up do it in Bakersfield, the station down off SR-58 is too expensive.

The owners have really put a lot of effort & $$ into upgrading this property. They decided to remove the golf course and in its place construct new sites. The old section within the trees is still there and occupied by mostly seasonal or full-timers. Some upgrades are in the works for this section (TBD). The new section has all concrete drives and sites complete with picnic tables. Sorry, no fire pits (if you bring your own smokeless or lava rock style is ok). Nice grass all around, utilities were in top shape. Staff is very kind & friendly and very helpful. The new site has no trees, but some saplings are placed. More new sites are planned. The noise from the local County road is somewhat bothersome. Perhaps a windbreak of a tree-line along the front of the lawn could reduce the noise. The office, club house, showers & restroom can use a 21st Century makeover. It is located at the original location which is behind the new section, but obviously positioned for the original sites. A new office complex could be built on the front lawn area while upgrading the old, thus have two club houses, showers, laundry etc. The trash issue is problematic, there are two dumpsters but for the new up front section you have either a long walk or drive to the furthest spot in back to dump your trash. Either update with more dumpsters or offer trash pickup daily. This is a great start to a perfect camp. Well situated near Foley and Gulf Beaches, and Mobile is only a hour away, 30min to Pensacola Florida!

{Stayed 04/01 - 04/04/2023} Weather was good for a longer layover & visited RV friends in Beaumont. Didn't spend too much time at the Resort. Nice sites, clean restrooms, pool was closed at the time. Road construction on I-10 was a bit problematic for county road exit/entrance at Resort. Easy access to shopping using the local roads/streets. {Daily $50; GS $45; PPA $25}
