Confirmed by 4 users | Last reported on August 12, 2022We stayed early November at Caboose Lake for a single overnight while in transit. There is limited options on this stretch of I65 and Caboose Lake was a safe campground, open year-round and run by very friendly people.
The campground itself is average but all hookups worked well and it served its purpose while in transit.
There was definitely noise from the highway when outside of the trailer, but with the windows closed and the heater on it wasn’t very noticeable.

This was a good place to stop and stay along the stretch as there are not many options. The site was very level, and it was a path through which was a bonus. Don’t expect to get one and a little man-made lake, they are permanent residence there. Everybody is in a row and there is not much space, but the area is well-kept. Be prepared to hear a lot of highway noise as you’re just off the highway. But in the summer with an air conditioner and we didn’t inside. You can connect on their Internet for less than a minute before getting kicked off But AT&T 4G is all bars.

We stayed here for an overnight stay. The park itself is pretty good. There is a nice lake and lots of things to do if you are arriving early enough to enjoy them for an overnight or if you are staying a few days or so. The site had a newly poured concrete patio so that was good. The water is shared between two sites so if you are lucky you will have the hose on the same side as the hookups if not it will run across your patio. The site was level and large enough to park the rig and truck on together without unhooking. The park is right next to Interstate 65 and it is easy to get on and off the interstate but with that being said there is a lot of road noise ALL NIGHT LONG. You hear the engine brakes from the 18 wheelers that are going to fast and everything.

Location is right off the interstate, so there is noise. Campground is a good resort location for families especially for children. Lake has lots of floating fun and good beach, but no lifeguard. Good overnight with easy access off interstate. There is only one bathhouse and it is on the far side of the lake away from most of the RV spaces. There is no parking at the bathhouse, you have to either walk all the way around the lake (if you're on the West side where most of the sites are) or park at the main entrance overflow parking. In either case, if it's 95deg out with 95% humidity then what's the use of a shower when you walk? The rules & procedures are a bit draconian. Before even arriving you must fill out an on-line waiver. Usually this document, or one like it, is filled out at the office. CG is accredited as a Good Sam but unlike other GS accredited CG's who add the discount at registration, Caboose states "you'll get a refund after you leave". It's been a week and our discount has not been applied to our credit card. Besides the usual CG rules, Caboose requires proof of insurance for boats & golf carts and some violations are met with $100 fines. Sites are gravel, some with concrete patio. Driveways are good gravel and maintained well. Local towns are ok for provisioning, but Lafayette is not too far away for city-sized businesses.

We arrived at 3 PM and were told that check in time wasn’t until 4. So if we stayed anywhere on the property we would have an early arrival fee of $20 added onto our $79 reservation cost! So we exited and waited an hour at a gas station until 4 PM.
Also the water hookups are located on the wrong side of the unit from the other hookups (50% of sites). So I had to scramble around in the gravel to get my water hose attached. Not good!

Caboose lake is conveniently located right off of I-65, which means road noise and a lot of it. The campground itself is well kept and clean. But it has A LOT OF RULES. Don’t get me wrong I’m don’t mind rules it’s just the way they are “enforced” end explained. The campground owner has forgotten that these people are her customers and not children staying in her home. Her attitude is condescending and abrasive. She and her staff literally drive around in golf carts looking for “violations” so she can fine her guests. Some of the fines are steep (up to $100) so beware. I did not incur any of these fines, but I will not stay here again. It creates a contentious and unwelcoming environment which I do not care for.

Beautiful park. We spent the night and the view of the frozen lake was very pretty. Zero issues with hook ups. Great internet! Highly recommend.
It is a conveniently located campground with a big pond and water inflatables but the highway noise is way too loud at night. Beach is well maintained but pond closed well before dark so be aware of hours. All the fun activities had less than an hour to be open and it was only 4 PM in the middle of summer. It was an okay stay but we basically swam an hour, hit the sack, and left the next morning.
