If you like Navy jets flying overhead then this is your kind of camp! Right next to Oceana Naval Air Station, home of a few F-18 fighter jet squadrons, this campground is very convenient if you can't get into any of the several military RV parks around. This is a Navy town so expect some noise, even at the beach! This campground has over 1400 sites of various types and prices. It also has cabins and tent spaces. We stayed in the modest part with gravel/grass site but the 'beverly hills' sites are concrete pads with manicured lawn between. There are also a few grass sites and of course storage for those needing to drop RV's off. Many bathhouses, 3 pools, lots of playground equipment for kids, mini golf to name a few things. Bikes & golf carts are for rent; paved bike path borders the main route outside the camp. Lots to do all around Virginia Beach, including Aquarium, Japanese Garden & of course the military bases.

Good location to Lexington and of course the Natural Bridge & Caverns among other activities. Easy access off of I-81. Roanoke is not too far either. Campground is well developed but a bit hilly. Owners are constructing new sites carving out the hill to do so. (We were there in August.) Some existing sites have concrete pads and wood deck patio and the new construction will be the same. Restrooms, showers are well maintained. Laundry is fine and the pool is great. Usual activities for kids including a game room. Owners have chickens & goats to visit. Good store, well stocked. The only hiking trail is a bit interrupted by the new construction - basically a one-way. Staff picks up your bagged trash daily in the morning if you leave it by your camper - not overnight tho.

Well, first off, if you want to relax this is NOT the place. You must always walk a distance or drive to a central location where the dumpsters are. Don't go at night unless you like confrontations with raccoons!! The Office, Laundry, Restrooms, Showers, Party House & Visitor Parking lot are also a bit far to walk to. As my title states - this is only cash or check no credit cards (which should have served as a warning). This CG has a Shelter House, Pool, Playground, Putt-Putt Golf, Horse Shoes, Basketball, Tetherball & Volleyball areas. The Park is divided with full-timers on the hill which is fine, a Party House (separate but adjacent to) and an RV Service/Storage Facility. The drives are one-ways so the full-timers/seasonal's only exit was the drive exiting their camp going right past the row we were on (our back faced the drive) and was busy all the time, particularly during the "morning commute". If someone books the Shelter House and it's a live band, then you hear it all over the park. The owner Sharon was nice on the phone and most of the staff were also, except the "bitch from hell {BFH}", Mickey. When we were there (late October) we were one of five other campers in the entire park on the last couple of days we stayed. We had local senior family members(why we chose this park), come to visit that were handicapped and we asked (nicely) if we could have them park in one of the empty sites on either side of us(please note - 42 of 47 sites were EMPTY). The rules are only one vehicle per site which is understandable when filled. Try reasoning with the BFH (aka "Crazy Lady") and you get NO compromise, even going to the owner and Sharon only backed up her employee. So our family had to park in a designated area and either walk with a walker in the rain or we drive to the lot park our vehicle and they use their vehicle to drive to our site, which is what we did. The BFH try's to represent herself as the owner but she is just a full-time employee. Because this is the first review of this CG, you might want to take a look at the reviews on YELP (which had we done so, we never would have even considered this CG!).

This is obviously THE place to go if you're a local and want a summer vacation spot. Many sites are permanent or seasonal. Lots of things to do at this campground - which is good because there isn't much to do around the area. (Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum is a short drive up the country roads to Walnut Grove.). The site we were in was ok, lots of shade. Lake access with boat launch, docks, swimming beach, definitely a busy place in the summer - not so much in September when we were there. Mini-Golf, volleyball, game room, playground. Workers busy putting up the boat lifts for winter, permanents closing rigs up & winterizing. Off the beaten path gravel country roads to get to this campground, not for one-nighters!

This is a family-run campground with residence on-site. Dad & Mom operate the CG with the one teen boy does some maintenance and the two teen girls do the cleaning. If you acquire an old CG, as these new owners did in 2020, then you have inherited all the shortcomings of the previous challenges. The structures were in good condition but the interior showers & restrooms could use some TLC if not out right overhaul. The pool is in need of overhaul and was not operational when we were there. The restrooms at the pool were also the worst. There are 4 cabins and several tent sites. Most sites are on grass or grass-covered gravel. The electric needs work as does the plumbing - the owners are still trying to figure out the layouts. Our site was 50-amp full hookup but a water break on a weird plumbing arrangement down the line had us using our own tank for about 12hrs. (we always fill our fresh water to about 2/3 every time we arrive at a new CG then dump before we depart) Not-with-standing the crayon drawing map of the CG, the numbers of the sites are not in any logical order. There are some seasonal campers and typically look a bit worn, however this is a good stop for touring the near-by activities such as the Indiana Dunes NP & SP. Because they do not have work-campers/managers the office is irregularly staffed and the posted hours are not necessarily accurate. They do answer the cell phone listed. The CG is bordered by a housing community and farmland but not bothersome. The entrance is off County road N-350-E but do NOT take your huge high camper North from US-6 to the left turn into the CG. County road goes under I-80/90 and that overpass is about 12'8"!!! Their entrance signs could use some upgrade and cannot be seen coming from the South anyway. And the entrance drive, altho paved is way too narrow for 2 campers to pass.

Fairly typical KOA, except the staff were cold & distant, not friendly nor helpful at all. Great location from I-90 and short drive into Rochester & the surrounding area, good for an overnight. Camp was peaceful. Road noise from US-52 was manageable but right next to the West property line. The office/restrooms/showers/laundry was across the public street from the majority of campsites. The trash dumpster was also located by the office, great for the small sites located there but a bit inconvenient for the majority. All utilities were fine. Good recreational options on-site.

Good last minute booking. Nice KOA, off I-75, plenty of provisioning nearby.

Right across the State Line into Georgia is this private RV Park, close to everything in Chattanooga TN and the surrounding areas of both states. It is close to I-75 and a Race Track so it is not the quietest spot on the planet but if you're on the go all day, you won't notice it much. CG offers tent & some cabins in addition to plenty of RV sites. You're surrounded by residential, industrial and of course the urban sprawl so provisioning is abundant. Of course if you're a Civil War buff this is the place for you, there is even a monument at the edge of the property.

{Date Stayed: 04/05/2023} Meh, for an overnight rest, pull-through, only used electric and didn't unhook. Would stay again if just passing through as we were on a time crunch and watching the WX East of us. If we were going to visit Big Bend NP then we would stay elsewhere. This is just an inexpensive rest point along the boring I-10.

Great location at the foot of the Smokies, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg all in driving distance. Maryville good for provisioning and all the little 'burgs' to take in the local flair. Pigeon F & GatlinB are getting real urban touristy now, but lots to do for the whole family. Cades Cove Scenic Loop is not busy in September. Campground is real nice, awesome restroom/shower facility, good spaces (most pull throughs), walking trail along the river. Good utilities and spaces. Easy access from Hwy US-321.
