Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on June 26, 2022The picture shown here isn't even from this campground. I would've never advertised this place as "one of Ohio's best kept secrets. " Again, extremely rude staff and management.
Well, first off, if you want to relax this is NOT the place. You must always walk a distance or drive to a central location where the dumpsters are. Don't go at night unless you like confrontations with raccoons!! The Office, Laundry, Restrooms, Showers, Party House & Visitor Parking lot are also a bit far to walk to. As my title states - this is only cash or check no credit cards (which should have served as a warning). This CG has a Shelter House, Pool, Playground, Putt-Putt Golf, Horse Shoes, Basketball, Tetherball & Volleyball areas. The Park is divided with full-timers on the hill which is fine, a Party House (separate but adjacent to) and an RV Service/Storage Facility. The drives are one-ways so the full-timers/seasonal's only exit was the drive exiting their camp going right past the row we were on (our back faced the drive) and was busy all the time, particularly during the "morning commute". If someone books the Shelter House and it's a live band, then you hear it all over the park. The owner Sharon was nice on the phone and most of the staff were also, except the "bitch from hell {BFH}", Mickey. When we were there (late October) we were one of five other campers in the entire park on the last couple of days we stayed. We had local senior family members(why we chose this park), come to visit that were handicapped and we asked (nicely) if we could have them park in one of the empty sites on either side of us(please note - 42 of 47 sites were EMPTY). The rules are only one vehicle per site which is understandable when filled. Try reasoning with the BFH (aka "Crazy Lady") and you get NO compromise, even going to the owner and Sharon only backed up her employee. So our family had to park in a designated area and either walk with a walker in the rain or we drive to the lot park our vehicle and they use their vehicle to drive to our site, which is what we did. The BFH try's to represent herself as the owner but she is just a full-time employee. Because this is the first review of this CG, you might want to take a look at the reviews on YELP (which had we done so, we never would have even considered this CG!).

After reading the first review of this campground, we almost didn’t stay. But we stayed one night and found it to be a nice campground.
Getting to the campground is fairly easy from I-71. Take exit 131 onto eastbound US-36/OH-37. Go about one mile to the second traffic light and turn right onto S. Galena Road. In about 1.3 miles, you’ll come to a five-way stop sign. You will continue on S. Galena by taking the road that runs diagonally to the left. After another mile, turn right onto Alexander Road. The campground entrance is about 0.4 miles on the right. After turning into the driveway, be careful to NOT turn into the Party House driveway that is on the right. Just stay on the main road until you reach the office (it will be on your left). Park and go inside the office. The staff will assign your site and escort you to it. Payment is by check or cash only. There is an ATM in the office store.
The sites all appeared fairly level and sufficient in length (we have a 34’ MH with tow), but the neighbors on either side are somewhat close. We were assigned a pull- through but there are also back-in sites. Each site appears to have full hookups with 50/30/20 amp, a picnic table, and a fire ring.
Long-term residents have a separate area that is gated. There is also a RV sales lot adjacent to the campground.
There appears to be a lot of amenities: Swimming pool, miniature golf, disc golf, a large pavilion with grill, lawn chess, playground, volleyball court, tetherball, horse shoes, basketball, and who knows what else. The laundry room has four washers ($2.00) and six dryers ($1.50). The office has a well-stocked store for incidentals.
Restaurants, groceries, gas stations, outlet malls, and other various stores are all within close driving distance in either direction on US-36.
Overall, it’s a nice campground and fairly priced.

This campground is NOT free like it says here, nor do they allow tents. The management was extremely rude and denied having the information advertised that way even when I showed them the advertisement on this app. I was polite and gave them a call before I was coming through in the middle of that night at a pouring down dangerous rate, leaving my name, number, vehicle description and reason for coming. I found they wanted to charge me $47 for staying the night and kept denying anything to do with this app. Terrible management, and not even a fun campground. Nothing to do there either.
