{Dates Stayed: December 27-28, 2023} Excellent park comparable to some $$$ Resorts. When we come this way again (to visit Aunt in Ashland) we'll most likely stay here. If the Fair is running events the place may be a bit crowded. Paved drives & sites, picnic tables on concrete slab, nice grass all around. Restrooms, laundry were real nice. Office staff are County employees and were real nice & knowledgeable. There are ducks in the ponds - one very tame one. The only problem - for the Premium Sites - is several feral cats over on the far North East corner.

{Date of Stay: 03/27-29/2023} Would have stayed longer but watching the weather; having to get to Washington State by end of April. This is a nice military RV Park that is not on the main base, so it is relatively quiet. The park sits on an old Seaplane base but the sites are not on the old concrete tarmac & launch ramp. Good fishing area but not the best beach to swimming - waterway is Pedido Bay not the Gulf. Best to go to P-Beach (public) or the ones on-base.

{Date Stayed: April 18-19, 2023} Would stay here again if this is our only choice within the parameters of, 1 night and destination urgency. As far as KOA's are concerned (we are members) this is probably the worst one we've stayed at. The daily price is about $20 higher than others. Granted, the time of year & weather influenced a dark tone (cold, sleet, rain, hail). They need to pave areas that flood & get muddy every year. We were in mud on the entrance street and then the first site offered was mud (#5) so we were granted another that was better eventho the two neighbors were using (our) 50amp (with apparent permission) so we were limited to the 30amp. Since we were only there as an overnight, not a big deal. LOVES should have an RV location there.

Great for us "seasoned citizens" (as the sign infers). Nice owners, great laundry, restrooms & showers; well developed large sites, gravel & grass, pine trees. Well prepared with emergency generator, tornado shelter and plenty of local information. Perfect location for shopping (Walmart/Home Depot etc), and of course the Dells. Baraboo is not too far, home of Ringling Bros Museum. Easy access to I-90/94 and highways. Next time we'll plan to stay longer.

The name is wrong, it should be "The Great Pond RV Park". Nice pond with lots of fish, ducks, turtles, cranes and a nice observation deck to feed them. Really nice Campground near all the conveniences of the city just a few miles away. Sites were spaced far enough for some boundary but close enough for visiting neighbors. Clubhouse is a bit small & outdated. Bathhouse is ok. Some sites have drainage issues after heavy rain. On premise propane filling station.

(Sept 1-6, 2022)
Best access to US-61 from I-64 is through Milton from the East or just East of Barboursville coming from the West. Driveway to US-61 is a bit tricky coming from the East because it is on an angle to the roadway and from the West need to careful of oncoming traffic - 2 lane with no turn lane. Typical KOA with lots of activities for families. Nice staff, good restroom facilities. Some sites are a bit tight but do-able. Utilities were ok, no problems. Provisioning is best at Barboursville (Menards) or Huntington (Walmart).

(12/06/2021) A nice KOA, like many dated, restroom/showers need upgrades, clean but old & worn. Lots of facilities, group kitchen, club house, game room all dated but usable. Some drives have newer asphalt, sites are being upgraded with fresh limestone aggregate, most are worn down to sand, some have concrete pads, improvements are continuing all over. Great pool & hot tub, but in need of re-glazing. Some sites are newer and have no shade, we were under almost complete shad of Southern Live Oak with Spanish Moss. Not much to do around Perry unless you're into fishing, hunting & boating ("mudd'in" too). They have the usual stores for provisioning, Walmart, Tractor Supply, Ace, etc. Just a good place to 'chill', and ok for overnight.
(03-27-2023) What a change a couple years make! We added our old photo's from 2021 to illustrate some of the changes such as the cabins. They have new asphalt paved drives, concrete patios on many sites, new bathhouse interiors. One front site is a premium with brick patio & built-in barbecue; and many other improvements. This will be our mid-Florida stop-over on our way in/out of our Winter quarters in South Central.

Yes, you are right next to I-84, but ok if just passing through. The only reason we stayed so long was thet this was the only camp close to family; consequently we spent most of the time away. A sound wall would go towards better abatement but doubt if State would do so. The views of the river & access is very nice. Sites are gravel and when rains some have drainage problems. Men's bath house is improved more than the women's when we were there, however, the stall doors need replacing. The women's side is worse, showers are dirty and not the fiberglass inserts that the men have. (hopefully that improves). Driveways have too many potholes and all the gravel could use a good grading. Perhaps one day they'll pave like the parking lot and area around the Riverview Entertainment Facility. Utilities are fine, location to commerce is great so provisioning is no problem - Tractor Supply, Walmart, Lowe's & Home Depot are all in the area. Diesel & Gas is close by but are not so RV friendly - if using towable, unhook. Lots to do around the area, National Wildlife Refuge is must see with water falls & trails. Milton is a quaint PA town ripe for exploring.

Easy access off of I-71, well maintained drive through the woods from the County road. Only issue is some sites do become a swamp after heavy rains, however, the camp tries to mitigate it as soon as it happens (We were there in August.). Reservation check-In after hours is no problem as your site is posted on outside bulletin board. CG does have some occupied seasonal campers & park models but are maintained well. Good playground area & recreation building, very nice & clean pool. Nice hiking trails through the woods. Clean laundry, showers & restrooms, however, the showers-restrooms could use an upgrade. Staff is very helpful. Campground is surrounded by farmland and provisioning is in Lebanon about 10mi NW. Lebanon has a Super Walmart. Cincinnati is about 35mi South, Dayton is 30mi North - lots to see and do if you choose to. Cesar Creek State Park with USACE dam and nature facilities is 10mi North and has lots of hiking trail opportunities.

{Dates Stayed: 03/29-04/01/2023} Weather turned good so we stayed a bit longer. This RV Park is on the Naval Construction Battalion (SEABEE) Base in Gulfport. Civilian street is on the North border of the park so it's busy and a train track is a couple blocks away, so if you want to hang around quiet at the park, this is not it. Plenty to do on the base and of course in town. Biloxi is not very far away, casino's are in both towns. GP & Biloxi public beaches are on the Gulf so nice white sands (Pensacola is the best though.)
