“Look no further than here”
Driving the I-10 between El Paso and San Antonio and getting tired? Need a good nights sleep? Stop at the Comanche Land RV-Park in Ft. Stockton! Joe Parras, the owner of this 58 RV-spaces park welcomes you. We have asked Joe about his story how he got involved with tourism and an RV-Park. As Joe was working for a big U.S.-company, one day he was told that his employer would lay off workers in Texas. But Joe was offered to relocate to Kansas. As Joe had no intentions to move away he quit. One day Joe was on the local Ft. Stockton Golf Course when he noticed the RV's passing by on I-10. Joe started thinking of getting into the RV-Park business. His curiosity stirred him to a realtor. As part of his market research Joe sat down besides the I-10 with a buddy and started counting RVs, passing by. On that day Joe was actually sitting on the property which he later purchased to start his dream project. He cleared the land of brush and started with a 20 -site hook-up RV-Park. With reference to history he named the newborn park COMANCHE LAND RV-PARK. And in order to put visual accents he planted giant Comanche arrows in the ground for everybody to see. From 20 sites he developed the park to 30 sites, then finally to 58.

The operators were very sociable!
No real complaints. On the facility It’s a simple place to get some sleep!
However since I was in a pop up, the adjacent interstate was very loud, I had to keep the AC on to drown the noise! For a regular rig, It’s probably not an issue.

Only an overnight stop.
Traffic from I-10 very loud and most all night. This was with windows closed, air and fan on and earplugs in place.
No contact check in, leave money in box and pick a spot. I did call ahead and man was very nice.
Used electric only.
Dirt/caliche fairly level spots. Pull through for big motor home with car in tow.
Mostly filled with long term users, no one around, pretty run down looking RVs and sites, mostly working folks.

Found this RV Park when the nighttime temperature was going to sink to 11 degrees during winter storm. Nathan was very easy to work with and told me all I needed to know on the phone and via text. We were happy to have a landing pad for the night. I recommend using the first entrance with a sign that says Stockton Springs or something similar. A bit smoother than second driveway.

Pull in, find your spot, leave $25 in the box on the porch. Easy, no frills, clean and quiet other than freeway noise. We parked our 41” fifth wheel towards the back and slept well.
Grateful for this spot because Walmart was full (small parking lot) and other places wanted over $40.

We called the number we found online and reached a voice mail for Jason. No idea if it was a good number as Jason never called us back. Regardless, we pulled in here after leaving the over crowded Walmart lot, and paid the $25 via the honor system. No amenities other than full hook/ups and a flat parking lot site. All said-we greatly appreciated a safe place to sleep.

Nice place, honor system $25. Electric worked fine.
Wish I would’ve opted for Walmart or similar further away from I-10. My bad for forgetting how loud next to interstate sleeping can be.

Was planning on stopping at the local WM but reviews and a call there confirmed that this WM was small and parking not great-and not “really” allowed, so we decided to stay here.
$25 gets you FHU (new electric and 20/30/50 amps) and great access to both the 10 and 285. Lots were nicely spaced- not paved, but hard pack. Payment is cash only. There was freeway noise, but that doesn’t bother us.
Our Verizon Mifi wasn’t great but our T-Mobile phones worked fine.

{Date Stayed: 04/05/2023} Meh, for an overnight rest, pull-through, only used electric and didn't unhook. Would stay again if just passing through as we were on a time crunch and watching the WX East of us. If we were going to visit Big Bend NP then we would stay elsewhere. This is just an inexpensive rest point along the boring I-10.

Honestly, Can’t Get any Simpler. Find A Site, Set Up, Throw 25 Bucks Through The Slot In The Door. For An Over Night Just Off Of I10 It’s Pretty Good. Full hookups. Don’t like road noise, pick a site further away from the highway.
