I'd consider this a nice, safe and secure site to set up for exploring the Poconos. Nothing particularly special (or particularly bad) about the park itself, but I liked the staff's friendliness and efficiency. Such a beautiful area around the Delaware Water Gap, and I consider Milford, PA, a hidden treasure. One can find more remote camps along Hwy 209 if you want to boondock or want more basic camping or need time out of the Thousand Trails system. Only one quibble: the COVID policy regarding laundry requires users to check out a key from the office. Only one user at a time limited to office hours makes getting in a bit challenging. However, we found the Wash-a-Lot Laundromat on Business-209 easy to get to, spacious, and inexpensive. Oh, and I agree with the cell-service issues from the review below. My wife bought the 3-dollar-a-day internet service but we still had issues.

A great place to pull up and enjoy some solitude. Though other RVs also camped here, we had at least 30 yards in between others. Very easy to go into Wildwood for supplies, but feels like a secluded secret spot just minutes away. Quiet hiking/biking trail. Stayed in the equestrian campground, though no horses here currently. Lots of space, lots of sun. Smaller vehicles can go to the primitive area for great shaded sites, but we stayed in the sun to take advantage of solar power.

I didn't know what to expect here with the mixed reviews. However, we found it easy-going and relaxing. We only stayed for a weekend, so no issue with the no hook-ups situation. Having a dumpsite would add to the site, but I understand that free camping has limits. Mark, the helpful, gregarious camp host greeted us at the gate and helped with the rather unusual lock system. The grounds have many more sites than I had expected, with perhaps only half of them full. I only walked the trails a bit and checked out the canal, but they both looked full of wildlife. The trail connects to Hickory Hammock, a site where we stayed before, though I didn't venture the 4-mile one way journey myself. Overall, way more plusses than minuses.

We enjoyed staying here, but realize it has no cell signal, nor water or sewer hook-ups. Nice to have electricity to run the A/C though. We stayed on the east side which has much more shade than the west. You will see your neighbors a lot, but we had no problem with this. Access to Everglades Shark Valley 16 miles away and Oasis Visitor Center which has birds and gators aplenty. Careful of the drivers on Hwy 41; the natives will feel the need to pass you even if you go the speed limit. The park has a spot to fill your fresh water when you arrive and a dump station for when you leave. Do make sure you fuel up before you arrive as well as have food/supplies. The only gas station I remember on 41 was across from the Shark Valley entrance which works in a pinch. When we return, we may try to stay on the Gulf side of the Everglades but don't know if any of the sites have electricity...

All the other reviews here paint an accurate picture of the park. I took a walk on a Sunday morning, a day I've gotten used to as busy for weekend campers pulling out. I didn't see a soul until walking across the Phase I camping area to the laundry, which I then learned had no working units. I did see perhaps a dozen or so campers spread throughout the park, and we have 5-10 in our Phase II area with FHU. Granted, it had rained all weekend and the wet, humid feel of the day did not invite a whole lot of outdoor activity. However, I found the ghost-campground feel compelling and I wonder about the story of the park. It has surely had better days, and I do enjoy the quiet rural setting.
I would not think of this as a destination campground--a bit too far away from Memphis to consider much connection there. However, if, like us, you want a few days of seclusion and rest, I would recommend this park--even if for no other reason than I would hate for it to die out completely.

First a story: We went the wrong way--entering from 92 onto Indian Lake Rd. We followed GPS directions to the local correctional institution where a very kindly deputy escorted us back to the correct path. He said he didn't recommend the facilities for overnight. Anyway, we took Indian Lake Rd to Rima Ridge Rd and took several miles to get to the Tram Road campground. Highly recommend entering from Hwy 40 rather than Hwy 92 to get to Tram Rd. Lots of other Tiger Bay recreation areas along 92 so we didn't pay as close attention as we should.
That said, if you want a secluded stay--only three other campsites here--then you will find it here. With our signal booster, we have strong internet access and can spend the weekend in peace and quiet.

We only stayed a few days while passing through in February. We actually saw the only snow of our winter here. Not much--maybe an inch--but it certainly stopped up local traffic. Still, enjoyed our time here and would gladly return for longer in the future.

For those who care, Highland Woods and Breezy Hill run basically as the same property--only a fence separates them and check in at HW actually happens at Breezy Hill. However, I liked the atmosphere at HW--smaller, doesn't have the gate hassles, and much quieter. The ratio of French-Canadiens seems even higher here; only a small number of campers don't have Quebec plates. Everyone seemed friendly and helpful, at least as far as residents go. I don't think I saw a park employee at either place in the almost a month we spent between them. No problems though, so no complaints here. I also enjoy hearing the French and Spanish spoken at various campsites throughout the park. Come to think of it, I don't think I heard any English outside our own spot...

Part of Thousand Trails. With nearly 1000 spots, this place about doubled the size of anywhere else we have stayed. In many ways, it seemed like staying in a trailer court or apartment complex with your nearest neighbor only a few feet away on either side. That said, I still enjoyed the park, the people camping there, and the many big rigs to take a gander at. Though not really "in nature", one can drive to one of the many nearby lakes and take in some very pretty views. Also close to quaint shops in both Eustis and Mt. Dora--I'd especially recommend Barrel of Books and Games in Mt. Dora. In addition, not a bad drive to Orlando and surrounding areas.

We stayed mid-week in mid-September and the place seemed so empty though full of RVs. We didn't mind that at all. A little bit of a challenge to find as our cell signal kept cutting out. A little farther from Cleveland than I thought, but close enough to Lake Erie and we liked Geneva-on-the-Lake for a lot of reasons. Big props to Harvey's RV in Andover several miles down the road as we had tire issues and he gladly hooked us up with the tire place across the street who fixed us up with courteous, timely service.
