Nuts and Bolts: this area is dispersed camping through reservation. It is very quiet, peaceful, and has great spots for solar! This is a great location for horses and trail riding. Reservations were very easy to make online. You will want bug spray for the mosquitos that frequent the evenings, we found that with the bug spray we were not bothered. This is a very laid back, serene campsite.
We stayed December 2018-January 2019, for 6 days. It was a little muggy compared to most of the United States but it was only a mild concern. The campsites are large and spread out, the closest neighbor is about 2-300 feet away.
The rangers stop by each day to make sure people aren’t staying here without the permit. The permit was very easy to apply for online.

Made an on-site visit to Lake Panasoffkee Wildlife Management Area today. It is managed by the Southwest Florida Water Management District. An online reservation is required. Flat open boondocking is available here with picnic tables, fire ring, trash receptacles, flush toilet, and picnic pavilion. There is a campground host on-site. I’ll be boondocking here on future visits to the Sunshine State.

Nice roads, smooth grassy area to pick a spot to call home for a night or two. Non-potable water available, fire pits and picnic tables... what else do you need ! :) CALL for directions from the Water Management folks - ask for Margaret at ext 4483 ! She's fantastic. She said they are repairing addresses for the District and addresses could be wrong - they WERE !! But got Margaret on the phone and she guided us to the location perfectly !

We camped here with our 40' 5th wheel. The camp area is just off of route 44. The road in was a little bumpy but level and no problems. It gets a little busy on some weekends with more campers and horse trailers. There is a lovely bathroom with 2 flush toilets and 2 sinks (ladies room). Theres not much shade which was great for our solar panels. There is a host camper here who was friendly and helpful. There are fire rings, picnic tables and not -potable water spigots throughout. There is a large open pavillian for anyone to use which also has very large cooking grills. The area has many trails to walk ride bikes and horse ride. Over all this was a really nice place to camp.

Large campground, lots of space between sites. Beautiful setting overall. Hosted. Clean bathrooms and large covered place for reunions etc. A very large group could meet here.
Quiet, large trees, lots of grass, picnic tables, fire rings.

The road coming in is rough but it's so beautiful here. There are camp areas with picnic tables and non potable water hookups under huge beautiful trees. There is a portapotty at the front and an outdoor sink. I can't wait to come back. This is a truly special place and great for bird watching. I'd live here full time if I could haha

A great place to pull up and enjoy some solitude. Though other RVs also camped here, we had at least 30 yards in between others. Very easy to go into Wildwood for supplies, but feels like a secluded secret spot just minutes away. Quiet hiking/biking trail. Stayed in the equestrian campground, though no horses here currently. Lots of space, lots of sun. Smaller vehicles can go to the primitive area for great shaded sites, but we stayed in the sun to take advantage of solar power.
