Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on November 11, 2023We stayed here 4 nights while on the way from DC area down to Atlanta and this is another nice Thousand Trails / Encore park. We had a FHU site with a nice view that was also pretty close to the amenities. There were multiple pools and hot tub (closed for season), mini golf that was actually in good condition as well a playground the kids really enjoyed.
Getting there was nice, it was only a half hour back to Winston-Salem where we went for some meals and activities. Check-in was simple and there were a few spots to choose from so we picked one that had plenty of space next to it. Getting to the spot was up and down a few hills, but nothing too difficult.
The park seemed clean and maintenance was around performing upkeep. Site quality was even pretty good. Mostly level and easy to get truck in and out.
The closest major road was not too far away but we could hear traffic some. Not too loud, but it was there. You feel like you are in wilderness but get that little extra noise.
I only gave this a 4 star because we could not participate in most of the activities since it was after season, but I assume it would be great when it is the right season.
We would go again!

We stayed two nights, our site seemed like it was on the extended stay side. Looked more like a trailer park than a campground. We explored the rest of the park, seemed like the other side was nicer. The entrance was nicely done, wish the rest of the park was like that.
GOOD-Quite, big campground
BAD-Awful smell coming in the park, like a rotting dead animal. Dog crap everywhere, No cable. Muddy especially where you park your vehicle. Again looked more like a trailer park than a campground.

This is a beautiful campground, has a spectacular pond with a beach in it. RV sites are quite spacious. Several public buildings are available. Two outside pools and a SPA (which only work from Memorial to Labor Day). Laundry is convenient. 3 big machines and dryers, price is $1.5 and $1.25 per machine. Hiking trails around the campground. We liked it overall. I've made a short video review: https://youtu.be/lT-NclnxySw

This is the third Thousand Trails campground we have stayed at and so far the nicest. The amenities were actually functional. The lake was pretty and there were several people fishing. The pool was clean but not open. That I didn’t understand. They had a nice clubhouse with pool table and spots to come in from the heat.
The sites are ok. Gravel (but in need of a lot more) and each site does have water, power, and sewer. The last is my only real complaint. Wet and dirty to the point that we didn’t even connect the water. We didnt want our drinking water house out there. We just filled up the tank which worked just fine. I think when people check out the park should clean the site. There was toilet paper and a mess around the sewer.
It was very quiet but loop A is kinda in a hole. There appeared to be better breezes in the other areas. Just a thought.
It is very easy to access. Interstate and state highways.
I would probably not stay again because there are so many other places available to try. I didn’t really like seeing trailers that are permanently parked there. Some are dirty from sitting unoccupied and others have full decks around them??? I don’t get that.

Stayed for about a week. the staff is not interested in fixing things you report. Put everything does work. What is meant is that the bathrooms all have half the lights working (with excuses that they are on partial timers - but not true). The tennis court has grass growing in all the cracks, and can be fixed, but no effort. Sign is the bathroom says no shaving, which is ridiculous. Suggest goin to the lodge near the laundry and taking a shower as it is being well cared for. Pools are closed until memorial day regardless of 85 degree temperature (insurance?). Bathrooms can be painted inside (rusty dividers).

This place is almost a 5 star park. There are many sites, though some might be tough to level in, with a mix of 30 and 50 amp sites but all full hookups. We get great cell service on both AT&T and Verizon thanks to the cell tower just across the highway. One of the best adult lodges with seen in a Thousand Trails, two big pools, a lake, hiking and more. Closer to the front there might be a bit of road noise but very quiet at night.
However, this park has about 75% of the sites taken by annual and seasonal residents. Almost are nice rigs with well kept sites but it doesn't leave much room for transient Thousand Trails members. The park is well maintained and very clean so the long term residents don't really detract from the experience, it's just there aren't a lot of spots left for the rest of us. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay.
Note: This park is open all year but does have limited operations and amenities during the winter.

We stayed for 4 nights in site C16 as part of our Thousand Trails membership. Full hookups (50amp, water, sewer). Water pressure was good at about 52psi.
We lost power our last night at the campground around 11pm. We walked out with a flashlight and our neighbors were also outside so we assumed the campground lost power (it was a thunderstorm so it seemed possible). But we learned the following morning when we still didn't have power that it was just an isolated issue with a few camp sites.
Our designated site ended up being a little too tricky to back into so we were allowed to park in another site typically reserved for long-term rentals. We've had our fair share of tricky sites being full-timers and over 100 campgrounds in the past year, but this was one of the toughest because of the sloped roads, hills, trees, tree stumps, and the large ditches on both sides of the road.
We actually ended up leaving early on our last day because our phones woke us up with a flood alert. The campground is located on a river and the area was expecting the river to breach and possibly even close roads and nearby bridges. The campground itself would likely have been fine but we didn't want to be stuck with detours if roads around the area were closed.

Like an oasis located only 7 miles outside of Lexington NC. Two large pools restaurant hiking trails wooded areas with wildlife and a large private lake. The only reason for four stars instead of five is they do not maintain children staying at children's pool so the adults can have their own pool. And the roads in a few places are in need of maintenance .
