As long as you are self-sufficient for boondocking, this is a near perfect campground for Carlsbad Caverns National Park and Guadalupe Mountains National Park. The sites are level, there are concrete pads with excellent picnic tables and sunshades, and a well maintained toilet. Follow the directions given by other reviewers and it is easy to find. Hidden surprises are that a little ways down Washington Ranch Road is a very nice water area (Cottonwood Day Park) with wildlife and natural foliage for the area. And a final bonus is that cell service here is excellent.

This is the more accessible of the two American Prairie Reserve Campgrounds. The sites are large and well spaced, the electricity worked well, there is access to potable water if needed, and the shower and bath room was modern, extremely clean, and functional. There is an informative 1.8 mile hiking loop around the campground. We parked right by the prairie dog area which was entertaining. The sky goes on forever and the campground was empty. All in all, a great experience. The campground does not have functional WiFi so for work you would need your own. The campground is easily found right off highway 191.

Very nice park located near many outdoor activities. Sites are spacious, full service, and pull through. Views from park are great. Hosts are active, involved, and friendly. Shower rooms are private and top class. No complaints whatsoever.

This is not boondocking in the rural west. It is a large and quite new RV park. We stayed in the newer section, concrete pad and full services. Pad was level and site was well maintained and everything worked as expected. The WiFi was very good, particularly considering the number of rv’s. The park is very convenient to touring the Thousand Islands area and to the bridge to Canada, if needed. We did not use many of the amenities provided but there were a lot. We have no complaints

Outstanding campground for dry camping. Sites are very roomy and include fire pit and shade shelter. Two composting toilets are provided on site and function wonderfully. The views and location are wonderful, it is an international dark sky site, and we were there on a weekend in late January and had it almost to ourselves.
It is dry camping and as it is remote, there is no cell service. There is cell service in Lajitas which is about 11 miles east. We looked at the campgrounds in Big Bend National Park (Chisos and Cottenwood) and much prefer this campground. Of note is that you make reservations by selecting Barton Warnock Visitor Center on the Texas State Park’s reservation site and not the park itself.

We stayed for two nights. The site was sand gravel and level. Our site was very roomy and right next to the rest rooms which is important to us as we have a small rv. The WiFi was very effective, enough to that we could stream with the Roku. The facilities were well maintained and clean. The location is equidistant from Hilton Head and Savannah so that activities can be done at both places if desired.

This campground is located in a beautiful valley and across the road from a very nice stream with a fishing and boating input site. While cell service in the valley was minimal, the campground WiFi functioned very well and allowed us to do email and web browsing without difficulty. The electric service functioned perfectly, sites were gravel and quite level with grass around which was well kept. The campground has fields for activities. Know going in that the campground at this time does not have showers. Toilet facilities are two portable toilets but they are without a doubt the cleanest portable toilets I have ever seen. All in all, a nice campground.

This campground is a mix of seasonal campers as well as nightly visitors. The sites are large and vary from pull thru to back in. They also vary as some are full service and some are water and electric. Cell service for Verizon was minimal. You get an internet code for two devices and the internet worked extremely well while we are there. Our campsite had a patio and fire pit. It was very shaded so more sand and dirt than grass. Showers worked well and were clean as was the restroom. The campground is quite close to Taleisin and The House on the Rock.

Nice campground as central location to explore the Hocking Hills. Sites have all services and our sit was very roomy. Everything worked well, staff was helpful, shower rooms were individual and immaculate. In addition, they had wormburner golf course which was a surprising amount of fun. They also have a lot for families. All in all, a great park

You are paying here for location. Our site was very nice grass, quite level, and overlooked the water on three sides. It also was perfect for some beautiful sunsets. The staff was helpful, the utilities worked, and the showers and restrooms were clean and functional. Bar harbor is 8 miles as is the entrance to Acadia. The location of the campground was great and the access to the Mt. Desert Island activities was fine. We had no problems. There are surely some sites that could be picked at this campground with lesser views. The only reason I do not rate this campground a five overall is that it is comparatively pricy.
