Dark Sky RV

Reviews, of course, are very subjective and this campground is 5 stars for it's amenities, layout, staff, and close location to the great town of Kanab. 3 stars as a campground destination. The campgrounds in town are sardine sites and Dark Sky is a spacious sweet layout for pull throughs. Everything is new and that adds to the alur. For us we were not looking for the "scenic camp" experience, but we were traveling through and needed a good overnight and this is where Dark Sky shines. If you are looking for the stream side wooded camp experience this is not the place. The bathrooms are AMAZING! Simply beautiful and functional! New laundry etc...like I said...the perfect stopover. The owners recommended the restaurant Sego in town and we agree it is one of the best culinary gems of the desert! This is the best base camp in the region if you have transportation to get around.

We decided to check out Zion and Kanab for a couple days and picked Dark Sky based off other reviews we read and we are so happy we did! The campground was clean, easy to navigate and had amazing amenities! The bathrooms were the best, indoor and private outdoor shower. Which felt the absolute best after showing for a week if our tiny camper shower. The hosts were equally amazing, I told them it was our 1 year anniversary and they greeted us with fresh cookies from a local bakery. Would definitely recommend this campground!

Looks and feels like a state park but has luxurious amenities like a resort.

5 Minutes to Kanab and close to so much adventure.
The reservation/check-in process could use some improvement. We initially booked site #6, but when we arrived someone was already parked there. After clicking on our reservation link, it was updated to site #4. When I booked an extra night for site #4, it put us in site #5. A little bizarre. We’ve been camping a while and have never had anything like this happen. I’m sure it’s a bug they’ll have to work out. Just beware.

After our previous plans fell through we were set on traveling from Horseshoe Bend to Las Vegas after sunset. Due to a traffic accident in front of us we sat in our van for an hour. I looked for campsites to spend the night but they were all ready closed for the night. Luckily I found Dark Sky! I was able to reserve a site and check in online as easy as could be. We pulled in to our site and fell asleep. In the morning we were able to check out the campsites. It is beautiful. The RVs are separated nicely with full hook ups. The tent sites had nice gravel pads. WiFi is everywhere. And the bathrooms are amazing!! The only slightly negative thing is there are only 2 toilets. (Located in the wonderful bathrooms) so if you just need to use the toilet you have to wait. And there is no seating to wait. Other than that a beautiful Oasis tailored to weary traveler! Also best sunrise ever!

There is no way to summarize how amazing this park is or how lovely the owners are! Dark Sky is beautiful, spacious, welcoming, and quiet. We can’t wait to come back and we are still here ; )

Great family run capsite/RV Park. Just opened August 2020. We have a tear drop and camped in tent area. Big RVs are separate. Cool central area and beautiful bathrooms. They even rigged up a “ice cream truck” and gave out ice cream.
Excellent WiFi

This is a wonderful place to camp. Peaceful, quite, and beautiful views. The bathroom suites were clean and well stocked, and they have WiFi. The campground was clean, and I loved the layout of the campsites. The owners are very friendly and professional. I will definitely camp here again when in this area! 😊

Rustic west meets desert chic...it's the small touches that make Dark Sky special. For example, there aren't many RV parks where the bathroom ceramic tiles (heated by the way) are as nice as the tiles in my recently remodeled kitchen. The idea of renting gas fire rings is fantastic for those of us who don't have them, and don't care for smokey wood fires. Wonderful stay!

This place is truly a gem! The owners are very welcoming and easy to communicate with. It is a little outside of town, so very peaceful and quiet, but close enough to easily access everything. The sites are spread out and have beautiful desert views The sites have cocktail tables and you can rent propane fire rings (no regular fire rings). From the check in process (online) to paying for laundry (Venmo or cash option) everything utilized current technology, which was a nice change. We had 4 bars of LTE and the WiFi was the best we have ever had at an RV park. It was easy for us to do work and school from our site. The common area is beautifully decorated and we wish we would have been here when it was a little warmer So we could enjoy it. The bathrooms were really a highlight. Heated floors and so nicely done. We decided we wanted to shower there instead of the RV. Love this place! We definitely hope to return.

What a great spot. We usually avoid RV parks because they are such parking lots. Dark Sky is small, spaced out with really creative and unique amenities. You can tell there is hospitality experience. The Owners are great and we will definitely be stopping back. I strongly recommend staying here.
