Neat building - glad it is being preserved but not like it was - it is being updated for a police station - good for a 2 minute photo stop

I actually met Vollis back in 2012 and got one of his creations from him. He was a wonderful man and a true folk artist. The field by his workshop was a wonder to behold. I understand that several of the larger (50 foot tall) works will find a permanent home in this park. I plan on going to this park when it is up and running at full capacity as I can imagine it will be a sight to see.

The best pork BBQ I have ever tasted and it is always good time after time - go for the original sauce. You can get the sauce in bottles too. The onion rings are out of this world - nothing like them anywhere! I have been known to go way out of my way just to get here.

Nice place to see for a couple hours - not a lot of other things in the area so I would not make a special trip just for this. There is a parking fee. A good place to take a stroll and take in the vistas should you find yourself nearby.

AWESOME view - quick and easy in and out right off main road. Expect to spend 1/2 hour taking it all in - too bad they put up a chain link fence.

LOVED IT!!!!! Sooo cool - expect to spend about 2-3 hours touring the house and grounds - the grounds are almost as good as the house. There is also another FLW house nearby (Kenuck Knob) but it has a totally different feel. Don't miss staying or at least seeing for the rest of the day the state park right down the road a few miles - lots of nice waterfalls, awesome railroad bridge that you can bike or hike on, cute little town with places to eat, rent bikes, etc... You can make a weekend getaway in this little area easily and never get bored.
