If you want to explore the area for a few days, this is a good spot. Right now only Airstreams can park here. Concrete pad,and shaded roof. I agree with the other reviewers. My only negative is that there is no public area for showers and potty. Having a smaller vintage Airstream we like to use the public areas if we can. This is west Texas so wind is always a factor and nothing will stay clean.

This is a funky little park. Right in town and very close to a lot of the major parks and Valley Of the Gods. Old and on its last legs...that being said we liked it for what it is and it was really nice and quiet for being on the Main Drag. Sure trucks and OHV came through town, but we were not there for the quiet. Chris the new owner told us how they just took over and where going to upgrade all the sites with new power and gravel, and up grade the showers and bath house...these areas were old but clean and worked well. Hard to believe but right next door was an excellent Thai restaurant...who would think out in the middle of nowhere.

Spectacular view ground need some help.
The good. Nice view of the river and surrounding landscape. Easy access to the river if you want to swim fish or even kayak. Sites were good lower level one through five is the preferred place to be.

The bad. Getting to the campsite was a very narrow rough pot hold hilly dissent. The other negative was the shower and bath area for public use was in need of some serious updating and cleaning. We were there 3 days and no one cleaned or emptied the trash. Also Wi-Fi was spotty. And cell coverage was even worse.
Summary. Overall a very nice place to just kick back and relax. Nearby town of Mason offers a few necessities but it is a town that also needs a facelift and a fresh influx of some businesses.

I have to echo others opinions ... they have sprinklers going all night long and they will mess up your tow vehicle and especially an aluminum airstream . Their rates very depending where you stay on the grounds. I paid more for a river view site and no shade . What a waste could not see the river . Stayed there for 3 days and then changed to a center row # 37 so I could use my trailer for a shade spot. Basically a treeless park. The other major thing that always is an outlier for some parks is what they charge for ICE. $4.00 a bag! Drive to town 2 miles away and get 2x as much ice for 1/2 the price.
Rest rooms and showers where nice. Staff was great.

The only reason I would stay here again is the location for things we like to do...hike and explore the area. Grand Junction is close by for any big needs,

There is a nice view of the Mesa and the sunsets can be impressive.
If train noise bothers you(we were ok with them) than don't stay here ( 1/2 dozen day and night).

Good winery's all over the area. If you come in August the peaches are the best.

I will agree with the reviews on the restrooms and staff. The sights by the creek may be great, but these were taken by long term renters. The center rows are tightly packed and absolutely no shade. With the white shell and the bright sun it is like a white out plus there where no picnic tables. The other strange phenomenon was that as soon as the sun dropped the temperature would drop like 25 degrees in a matter of minuets. Never had that happen anyplace else. To make matters even worse they did not allow any fires so sitting outside was a no go.

We only stayed here because it was close to friends house that lived up top on the hill (mtn.). The owner was very friendly and helped us to our spot. It was on a hill a difficult to get into. However once in it was comfortable and had a nice view. Negatives...no showers, no toilets, no ice, and crappy wifi plus the sewer line was up hill so at the end of the day draining the hose was a PIA. So at 80 $ a night I would go look for something else.

This is an Old KOA that was built in the 1960's. That being said even though the sights were very close to each other ....with all the mature trees and the way it is laid out we felt very comfortable and it is a quite park. I am guessing they have 1/2 the sights to yearly and or summer rentals. Easy access to the town and surrounding sights. Steve the camp host is very friendly and helps park everyone that comes in. This is hill country and the camp ground is built into the hill, however there are a lot of big rigs in here. WIFI is mostly good. Having an Airstream means going outside the tin can most of the time to get coverage. Some one mentioned in other reviews the barking dogs...we heard them in the morning, but really not a big deal. This campground is off the main highway and you do hear road noise. Again this did not bother us. I would give them a 5...however the bath and laundry facilities are in need of a serious up grade...clean but very outdated and on there last legs.

I am going to sat “ditto” on the pass reviews. Nice and easy, showers were big and clean. Ordered Pizza (homemade) delivered to your site. 👍…great for overnight. Even had shade trees. Did not have time to check the little town out. Wi-Fi was vg.

Everything about this place was COOL...If I had a reason to stay here for more days i would. Clean grounds and restrooms. plenty of space in between sights, and nice grass.and trees. This use to be an old drive in theater, The screen its still up and its to bad they do not run movies every night, Thats would be so cool.

Great shade trees...pick your own spot. Owner very helpful, lots of good hiking and go see Dinosaur NM. Flaming gorge is also a must.

The only thing I found a little strange is why would you have showers that you have to pay for. 25 cents for a minute and half.

Not too noisy at night. Daytime more so. WIFI iffy.
