As previously posted, the sites are layed out in a horseshoe and all seem level though the gravel pad is a bit crowned and narrow. It is a no-frills campground and the out of state fee on top of the camping cost makes it a touch high for what you get. Throw in the $8 day use or $35 annual state pass, then it is a pricy no-frills campground for a short stay. The restaurant and convenience store right across the street is not to be missed. Astrid makes one feel at home and is a lot of fun to talk with. We did a breakfast and a lunch there and enjoyed both meals. No dump station here, but Shadehill Recreation Area is only 5 miles away with an awesome, new dump station with separate potable water. No hiking, except on the road to Shadehill Recreation Area but a nice loop trail about 5 miles to the south. Most sites were empty when we were there. I didn't notice any noise to speak of. Good Starlink speeds here.

No frills sites, though each one has a firepit and a table. There is a south loop by the boat ramp that is wide open, with no trees. We stayed in the north loop which is beside a growth of pine trees, providing afternoon shade. During our time here, we only saw one other camper for one night. There was another trailer here, but it looks abandoned and we never saw anyone at it. Good road into the Recreation Area. Good beach acccess from the north loop for launching kayaks.

Even though it was off season, this park stays busy. As noted in other reviews, the water park is not open during the winter. The sites are fairly level with concrete pads though without vegetation, there is no privacy between sites. The showers were clean and hot, and the laundry room was fine with 4 washers and 4 dryers each costing $2. Though I think 4 washers and 4 dryers are not enough for the number of sites here. Not a great deal of hiking from the park. There is a nature trail that is a couple of miles and you can of course walk along Beach Blvd. Good thing is there is very little traffic on Beach Blvd. Disc golf course that is the most heavily used disc course we have ever seen. It is not overrun, but just has constant players. Do not go for a walk out the south thinkin you will be able to walk in the north side of the park. There is a tall chainlink fence on the northern border for some reason so you can't walk in or out on that side. The south side is wide open for walking.

Lots of people leave bright lights on all night long for some reason. More than I would have expected, certainly more than I desired. I like to walk around in the morning before the sun comes up and you would just get blinded. I don't understand it. Starlink worked very well here.

I wouldn't want to be here if it was busy as the sites are very close together with very little privacy. However in late fall we were the only ones here except for one other on the second night. By the bathhouse and pool, there are what appear to be some long-term spots that have sewer. Also across the street to the south there is a new loop with 14 additional spots. In this loop the sites are more spread out so you wouldn't feel quite as cramped. So there are actually about 26 sites available for short-term campers. If you stop here, don't miss the Porter Sculpture Park just south of the interstate. Very interesting sculptures. There is a little bit of noise from the grain dryers just south of the park. Don't think that would be an issue during most of the year, but is during harvest. Great Starlink speeds, T-Mobile connection almost non-existent.

Our site was enourmous, with little to no vegetation, there is not alot of privacy here. The only trash receptacle is a shack at the exit gate. Speaking of the exit gate, ensure you take not of the signs regarding where to stop for the gate as it for some reason opens inward. The dump station was fine and it is on the road just before you enter the campground. Across the street is a large primitive campground, but you must have a valid hunting permit to use it. The hiking was good in the area, lots of trails and lots of hunters as well. Starlink worked great and all of the sites had a concrete pad with water and electricity. Had no T-Mobile coverage in the campground, but did while hiking in the area.

Nothing exceptional, but a nice place to stay.

As mentioned before, no sewer hookups at the sites, only the dump station. Best to contact the city through the website a day or so beforehand. Then your water and electrical boxes will be unlocked upon your arrival. Only a few other campers here during our stay. One night there were four of the ten sites occupied. If you are sensitive to noise, the trains may bother you. They didn't bother us. Nice spot to use as a base to explore Minot. Great Starlink speeds.

We arrived to full campground for a County run Halloween event. It was lots of fun walking around and looking at the decorated campsites. People take this seriously and there were amazing decorations.

But the campsites are cramped and close together with no vegetation separating them. The electrical boxes are placed without any consideration to where the sites are. The electrical box for our site was about 40 feet away from the back of our site. We could not plug into it with our 30 amp cord as it was too far away and I do not carry an extension.

Two loops on each side of the highway connected by a road underneath the highway.

Good campground for Starlink use.

The hosts were very nice and the sites were mostly level. Sharing a pedestal and sewer connection is interesting, but when we were there we had no neighbors as only 6 sites were occupied. There is a bathhouse that was clean. We didn't use the showers so I can't rate them. Thre are a couple of folks that look permanent and a bit junky. We were on the road leading to the boat ramp and didn't really notice the traffic. People drove calmly past the campground.

It was a good place to stop and break up a longer drive.

No real hiking from the campground, though there is some about 10 miles away in the State Forest.

From my site Starlink was very spotty, it would have worked fine in many of the sites. As there was good cellular data, I did not move.

They are renovating the RV sites. The notice states they are going from 18 cramped sites to 11 roomier sites. The RV sites are very cramped and with rainy season, very muddy. Sites 1 - 3 do not have sewer hook ups and there is no dump station. But when you leave, you can just back into one of the unused sites and dump there.

There is very little privacy in the RV area as there is no vegetation between the sites. The tent loop looked very nice and lots of privacy with roomy sites.

It was a nice base to use to visit the nearby towns and museums. There are lots of hiking opportunities nearby. Good spot for winter camping when you are mostly doing museums and indoor touring. If it were summer, I think I would prefer something with a little more privacy.

Weird vibe here with the host. When we arrived a Class C was in our spot. Turns out it was a CG co-host. They went to check with the main host who came over and kind of acted like we were at fault and implying there was enough room for both of us. The co-host did move and the camp host stopped by the next day and apologized. Never really felt welcome here. No hiking without a drive and the St. Marks NWR is not to be missed with it's abundunant wildlife. On a 6 mile hike we saw over 50 alligators and a family of wild hogs and untold birds.

The sites all seemed level, though there is zero privacy and a few of them are very close together. Solar production was tough here due to the trees, and some of the sites would have worked with Starlink but not ours. We did have decent T-Mobile service though. The dump station and bathhouse was fine, just a bit dated. There is a fair amount of noise from the highway.

It was an okay stop, but I would not stay here again.
