Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on December 21, 2022Traders Hill RV and Campground is on the border of Florida’s St Mary’s River where the Spaniards use to float in and trade with the Seminole Indians. Live Oak Trees covered in Spanish Moss are hundreds of years old. This is a County Park that offers 30amp service for RV’s, parking for Vans and Tent Camping. There are two bathrooms that have Hot Showers. The Bathrooms are not the cleanest, but considering the age of the park, it’s a Hot Shower! Very friendly camp hosts. Very welcoming! If you want to take a tour of the Okefenokee Swamp? You are 6 miles away from the entrance. Save money and stay here.

The CG is small and mostly shaded with huge live oak trees. Very quiet. The hosts are very nice and helpful. Until the final day I was the only one there. All sights can accommodate large RVs and have 30/50 amps and water - no dump. The sites are on short grass. There's a small store selling mostly snacks. The CG is only 5 miles from the Okefenokee NWR.
The downside is the bathrooms. Very old, musty, and full of stains. A sign says that it has been scheduled for renovations (can't be too soon). I din't use the shower. The CG is off the beaten track outside of Folkston where you can buy anything you need.

The sites are not very level and are not paved. Those are literally the only downsides; otherwise this campground is absolutely spectacular. Many of the trees are historic, dating back to the Civil War, and indeed the whole area is protected because of its significance, hence the rustic feel and lack of made up infrastructure. Having said that, the County does have it slated to remodel the bathrooms and facilities (which we did not use). We had full 50a power and hook ups--for $20 a night! Big rig friendly, we easily fit our 40' 5th in. Verizon cell phone was excellent, almost full bars. The camp hosts are very welcoming and super helpful, and the only other full-timer is the local Sheriff/Paramedic who was next to us; and what a nice family they are too. The weather was humid and the surrounding forest full of sound, but surprisingly there were minimal bugs. The root beer colored river is just down the road for swimming and fishing. The peace and quiet is exceptional here, we simply can't say enough good things about this place--we came for one night and ended up staying four. One of the most beautiful, nicely run campgrounds we've ever stayed at. Absolutely loved it.

Host were very friendly an accommodating. Sites have to presently share pedastal and dump; however, they have plans to upgrade and have sewer and pedastal at each site. Bathhouse was very clean. Nice and quite with exception of fisherman going down road to boat ramp. Will definitely visit again.

The hosts were very nice and the sites were mostly level. Sharing a pedestal and sewer connection is interesting, but when we were there we had no neighbors as only 6 sites were occupied. There is a bathhouse that was clean. We didn't use the showers so I can't rate them. Thre are a couple of folks that look permanent and a bit junky. We were on the road leading to the boat ramp and didn't really notice the traffic. People drove calmly past the campground.
It was a good place to stop and break up a longer drive.
No real hiking from the campground, though there is some about 10 miles away in the State Forest.
From my site Starlink was very spotty, it would have worked fine in many of the sites. As there was good cellular data, I did not move.

The campground hosts were extremely friendly and very helpful. All of the sites are fairly level and share a power post and sewer drop with the neighboring site but it’s a great site especially considering the cost. They also have a nice clean bathhouse should you need it and it’s only a short walk down to the St Mary’s river if you’re looking for boat access.

Arrived late but still greeted by friendly staff who even changed our site since there is only one sewer per two sites. Very affordable $20 for hookups.
