Booked via the website…BUT…you have to call Dave first to ensure there are spaces available (which I did). No problem…except when we arrived, Dave didn’t recall seeing our name on the list. He put us in site #1.
Site #1 is slightly sloped and next to the bathrooms/shower. We were too tired to discuss further, so we set up. Despite the campground being 3/4 full, the place was incredibly quiet. Groups that were gathered around fires couldn’t be heard.
Bathrooms were clean, but old and musty. Didn’t use the showers, but they exist. Left at dawn. Decent cell service.

We stayed overnight in the way to the Custer, SD. It had a great fishing stream, swimming pool, and short walking trail. It even had a multi-sport court for basketball or tennis. It is several miles off the interstate so it is very quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

We needed an overnight on our drive. Called ahead about 3 hours before we thought we would arrive. Dave said to come on in. Plenty of space. How can you pass up $25 for electricity and water! There is a dump station if needed. The site was a pull-thru with a nice shade tree (as most were). It was just 4 miles north of I-90 and very quiet. It is next to the City Pool. Entry fee is $3. Well worth it after a long day's drive. While there, be sure to check out Porter Sculpture Park just south of Montrose on I-90. This is filled with whimsical metal sculptures

First of all, Dave is great! Responsive, and a welcoming host - call ahead. Second, turn right on Clark St, drive down to the park, and call Dave to be directed to your spot. Google directed me to State St., which is not correct.
With that being said, here’s what I like about this place,
*Plenty of room
*Quiet
*Brand new Electric hookups
*Walking paths, grass and gravel/paved
*outdoor workout equipment
*Walkable town
*The local pub has good food, and cold beer
*A great stopover from East to West, West to East, or simply across the state of SD.
The town is pretty small, so don’t expect many services, but if you made it here, you’re probably prepared for your trip.

We were going to Harvest Host, but the heat wave forced us to change. Dave, Camp Host, took care of us. Once we parked, he offered fire wood which he would deliver. We passed. We went to the Office Bar which is a short walk away. Had a great meal and met some super friendly locals. Close to the interstate but not so close where you can hear it. There is a pleasant little stream running through the park.

This campground is conveniently located near I-95. Dave, the Campground Host, was very nice and helpful. The sites are pull through and our campsite was level. It was also quiet.
The campground is located in a sightly dodgy neighborhood. The showers were OK, not that clean. It was a pleasant afternoon and evening but we were unable to sit outside because of all the dive bombing flies.

Nice spot on a little creek. Verizon service very good. Daytime noise from playground/pool. Not a fan of the bathroom set up, seems a little unsafe for a single person. People were super freindly. Make sure to ask for a shady spot. Gets pretty hot in the pull thru dpots

This is a nice city park campground. The bathrooms were very clean and the hot showers had great water pressure. It is not very far from Sioux Falls.

Great spot! Campground Host, Dave (super nice guy) greeted us right away and let us choose our spot for the night. The bathrooms and grounds were very clean and there’s a small walking trail by the river. Sioux Falls is about 30 minutes away.

Basic city campground. Electric hookups. Crushed gravel / dirt campsites. Big grass field for the dog to run. Stayed just a single night while passing through South Dakota and it was exactly what we needed - quiet and with electric power.
