First the positives:
This is the last RV park before driving into the park, you are just .4 miles (an 8 minute walk) to the visitor's center. With parking so limited in the park, we either walked in or jumped on the free shuttle as there is a stop just outside the entrance. We were in a new section of the campground and there was plenty of room for our 41' fifth wheel and 20' truck. We never heard any noise from the street, the staff was very friendly - even emailing us when Amazon delivered a package for us, and the showers were great.

As for negatives, even though we were very close to our neighbors, we didn't mind it as we got to meet people from all over the world. The downside to being so close was that one of our neighbors was a heavy cigarette smoker and we could smell it when we tried sitting outside. The other issue with being so close was that their didn't seem to be a policy requiring putting out campfires when you went inside for the night - people just left them to burn out. That resulted in smoke filling the air when we were trying to sleep.

That said, we would definitely stay here again. We have Starlink so don't know about Verizon or AT&T coverage.

We stayed here in Sept, in order to meet up with some friends and enjoyed our stay. We were camped on a waterfront site and the view was beautiful, looking over to the town of Wakefield. There was very little road noise from the town. The park is smaller, older and there are lots of seasonal trailers but it is clean, quiet and safe. The bathrooms and showers are very nice. The showers take quarters, but I took two showers for $0.25 each.

We arrived on Halloween evening (10/31/20) and lots of kids were out with parents, trick or treating and either didn't see our 1 ton truck pulling a 38' 5th wheel or didn't care as we snaked through very tight turns to get to out site. Several times we sat and waiting for groups to get out of the middle of the roads. Our site was nice, but it was near an airport and when planes took off they sounded like they were going to fly through the rig. They were loud, but they stopped taking off around 10pm. Getting out was a lot easier than getting in and if we were going to stay again, I'd stay in a different part.

Unfortunately we were here for the recent (ongoing) forest fires so have spent the last six days inside our rig. Before the smoke came to town we did get out to see Smith Rock SP and it is worth the drive if you like scenery and hiking. The town of Redmond has quite a few good restaurants, you just need to get off 97 and into town. The RV park is paved, with concrete pads and gravel (not grass) between sites. The sites have a picnic table and a bbq stand (ours was not cleaned out and we did not use it). There is grass next door, at the fair grounds, for walking your dog or playing. It's a good location, the facilities are clean and well maintained, but the staff could be friendlier. When we check in, we asked about the fires in the area and they didn't seem informed or concerned. Signs in the office window says "No Refunds". We are next to an airport, but flight were cancelled because ground crews could not work outside, due to the smoke. We were able to get more local, free TV here than other places.

We sold our house and moved into our 5th wheel and moved into the fairgrounds to get situated (still a lot of boxes to go through). We were surprised how crowded it is, but also by how quiet it is. There are several couples who have been there several years, while they work full time locally. On that note, you have to move sites every 21 days, but it can be for only 1 night and then you can move back (or stay in your new spot). Everyone has been very nice and the bathrooms and laundry room is clean. It is posted that there is no smoking in the park, but that is not enforced and not complied with (although some folks do walk outside the gate). Just outside the gate are two very large grass fields, suitable for dogs and kids and lately they have been hosting drive-in tribute band concerts (that park residents get to listen to for free)! This is not a scenic location. The North section has very few trees and a smattering of grass, but paved roads. The South section has more trees, but seems to be for older rigs. Our first site was on the end of a row and directly across from the WiFi and we got a good signal. Now we are down a few spots, but in the same row and the signal is poor at best. For one thing, the box on the pole could be higher. Our line of sight to the WiFi is blocked by a couple of Class A RVs.
We are in a pull through site. Back in sites are $10 cheaper. Staff is easy to work with, but seem to knock off early. We are still working during the day so only able to see someone in person on the weekends.

On the north end of town with lots of room, we stayed here for two nights in early May 2024. We were under some trees but still managed to connect with Starlink with no issues. The park and restrooms are clean and well kept and family run. The views are great and the location is good. We had some road noise, but I bet if you were further back you would not hear much. There were only a half dozen rigs when we were there, so we were all in the front row. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here on 4/12/21 for 3 nights and it was nearly empty, maybe 6 other sites were occupied. The views are amazing, but the winds can be amazing too. I'm sure it was gusting to 40mph the second day of our stay. We picked it because it had good reviews and the parks in Ellensburg didn't and while I think this was a nicer place to stay, it is a good 30 miles east of Ellensburg.

When we were there, only the loop next to the water was open. But we walked through the other loop and noticed that some sites would have been difficult for larger rigs, du to the placement of the water/electric post. They are too far into the site and so the entry angle could be difficult. Most sites are fairly level, but some are sloped or are very short pull through. We have a 41' 5th wheel and I'm not sure we could have gotten into some of them.

There is a petrified forest visitor center nearby, but we were not able to visit during the hours they were opened.

We stayed here with our 41' Solitude and didn't have a problem, but that would be about the longest I'd bring here. Besides the space length, the road in crosses the spillway and we scraped the rear bumper on the way our because it dips so much. Unfortunately there was a fire 20 miles north of us so there was smoke most of the time. The biggest problem was the water level. A local said it was at 10% capacity and while their was still enough for swimming and kayaking and fishing, getting close enough was the issue. The level was dropping 3' day so the shore was so muddy (and at places steep), you could not launch. The boat ramp was 1/4 mile long, but ended way short of the water. All that said, we'd stay here again, but in the springtime when the hills would be green and the water level higher. They have full hookups, some shade trees, great views and you are very close to Ashland and all it offers.

We were sitting in our site at the Alameda County Fairgrounds, looking to get out of the heat and mainly the smoke from all the fires in our area and doing a lot of fruitless searching until we saw a FB post from a guy who had just pulled into this place. We called and spoke to Ken (nice guy) who said that while they don't take reservations, we should have no trouble getting a site. So we drove up (in smoke most of the way) and are sure glad we made the drive. We are parked inside the fair gate, on the midway and were rewarded with an amazing sunset that first night. The sites inside the gate are not numbered and we got to pick the one we wanted. I suspect they are where the food trucks park when the fair is going on. You park beside one of two big yards and there is water and electric and a dump station behind the building that houses the Eel River Model Railroad Club. There is also a number of spaces outside the gate, on grass, but we are on asphalt. The fairgrounds are on the NW edge of town in a very peaceful setting. We have been walking on the horse racetrack in the evenings. We paid our $28/day fee to Diane (Ken's wife) who is also very nice. There is a $5 fee to dump and/or take a shower. Unrelated, but the same price. If you stay here, you have to go to Ferndale Pizza, it is some of the best we've ever eaten. We got the Wildcat and asked them to add onions. You also have to check out Sweetness and Light, which is a small candy store that makes it's own candy. Check out the "about us" story, that is so sweet.

This is a great park to stay at if you want something quiet. There was no road noise and no trains! We were there off season, there were less than a dozen rigs in the entire campground and we were on a row all by ourselves, until the weekend. But those people showed up on Friday and left on Sunday and they were quiet neighbors. There are two lakes on the property, with different speed limits, but very few boats were out when we were there. They stock the small of the lakes, but I didn't catch anything and didn't see anyone else catch anything. Supposedly it is heavily fished immediately after stocking, which was two weeks before we arrived. They have a TON of squirrels who have torn up the grass and burrowed holes all over the place, making walking on the grass a difficult proposition. The bathrooms were small, but clean and there were very few trees which was great for our Starlink, but I was told it can get very hot in the summer. The site was one of those curved pull throughs but the pedestal was on the inside of the curve, so easy to get in and out of. Some sites had a sign on the outside of the curve and that would have been more difficult for a longer rig.
