The good: its real close to a boat dock, if you're looking for that.

The bad: Seems unfinished. Also seems to be run by someone that doesn't really understand what is needed in an RV park. The park only offers public bathrooms for the boat dock, no showers. Additionally, we had an issue with grounding in our site - the maintenance repair man was super rude. He began the interaction incredulous that anything could be wrong.

Additionally, the RV park reservation process itself is weird, took several phone calls to reach anyone and the people you speak to are affiliated with the convenience store.

My opinion is that someone had some land in a good location and though - how can we get more revenue out of this land. Its not approached at all from a perspective of how to have a nice campground.

This is glamming. Shuttles everywhere to go see San Diego. Full service restaurant, Pickleball everything you want including great views of San Diego. Not cheap but it’s a really fantastic spot.

I love the location of this rv resort and, although it’s not perfect for everyone, it was great for our family.

Views are incredible although to squeeze in some sites they made the access roads a bit small. I would skip if I were a big rig, or call and ask for sites that are easy to get into.

Bathrooms are incredibly clean and a combo of a toilet and shower to a room. So, no randos.

Fire pits and games for the kids.

Location across from the skypark is great for families with small kids.

Some people have commented here they wish they didn’t chop down the trees; they didn’t. There was a huge fire in this area in 2006 that destroyed the trees in this area (and took out 300 homes) - don’t dock them for it!

This is under fairly new ownership and they really keep this place spic and span. Absolutely beautiful and the sites are paved and level. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Make sure to visit Sundial Bridge!

We stayed here 3 nights in August 23. I love the location, being on the Kern River (water was too rough for swimming this year) and the enforcement of noise rules. We're not big partiers and we appreciate that the campground wants to remain a quiet, family escape.

Two negatives:

1) The bathrooms/showers need an overhaul. They're old and not particularly clean. This resort had some crazy expenses/loss of revenue this year with a full flooding of the resort (and regrading) due to the unprecedented flooding the area received so its a bit understandable but this would be what would stop it from being a 5 star from me.
2) Feels a bit 'nickel and dime-y'. You must wear wristbands at all time. If you lose your wristband $$. Wifi is 'free' on website but that only includes one device (really terrible performance for the free) and you basically have to pay for anything else/serviceable. Showers require quarters but aren't that nice/clean.

Overall I would stay here again, particularly in the loops with full hookups/concrete. Its not that far to the river either way.

We stayed 3 days here in January 2024. The manager is super nice and even helped us rent a warm hose to ensure that our water line didn’t freeze in the 15-20 degree weather we experienced on the trip.

The bathrooms are nice and super clean and the location is great, next to the 15 and the closest option to Brian Head. There’s even a shuttle that you can get to take you to and from the ski resort which was great!

My other favorite thing was this was the first time I had experienced pay by app laundry. No quarters needed and brand new machines.

There aren’t a ton of kids activities yet but the owners have plans to expand the place.

We found everything to be in working order and we really enjoyed this little spot. We will be back!

Great location with everything you need nearby, including a beautiful beach. Yeah, the sites are tight, but you should expect that with a nearly beachfront location. Awesome little spot, well run, even has a nice game room for the family.

Quaking Aspen is a wonderful National Forest campsite set at over 7,000 feet. We camped here in a 26 foot travel trailer and we barely fit. I would not go bigger, or you simply wont be able to get around the narrow roads in camp. Water is available near the bathrooms, but not at every individual site. Bring a jerry can.

The physical setting is absolutely beautiful, and there are so many things to see nearby, including the Trail of 100 Giants, and Dome Rock. The area was heavily damaged in the 2021 Wind fire so please expect that of the surroundings (the campground area was spared).

Make sure to stop at the Ponderosa Lodge for a drink and some food, it is excellent and only 2 miles away.

Please note, there is no gas (either gasoline or propane) so make sure you get it in either Porterville or Kernville on your way up. Also, we came in from Porterville on 190 it is an extremely windy (in some places single lane) road and I would not recommend you do it at night.

Spectacular!
