Great location between Terlingua proper and Big Bend NP. Host was there to greet us when we entered and she gave us a choice of sites. I needed strong wifi for a class i was taking and despite being in the middle of the Chihuahuan desert, I was able to attend my virtual class meeting! I did ask ahead of time if that was ok since some parks restrict the kind of wifi usage, but they said it was cool. Gravel sites, spacious. Electric was a godsend as our AC never got turned off. Quiet at night. Star watching was great. Liquor store across the road didn't turn off their lights until late but we still got some great astrophotography in. As with most of the area, there is no shade, but we knew that. All in all a great stay! I'm guessing this place is fantastic in fall and winter :)

Perfect for a one night layover. Check in was easy. Had a back in spot and the attendant asked me if I could back my trailer up. Hoping he asks everyone that, and not just female campers. He then proceeded to "help" me back the trailer in which took about ten times longer than if I had been left to my own devices. I finally figured out that he was trying to get me as close to the utilities as possible which was unnecessary as I have extension cords and long reach hoses. I know he was trying to be helpful though. I will say that the streets where the back in sites are are way too narrow to do proper backing. STILL this was a good place to stay, right off I-10. Quiet at night. Good wifi.

Did not call ahead and it was Memorial Day. Presented Good Sam card to lady at the front counter and she told me a slot to pull into. Had some trouble with the electrical but got it worked out. Electric, water, and a dump station. Yes, it's a parking lot and there will be some road noise but it really wasn't that bad. We had the AC on though so maybe that's why it wasn't so bad for us! Word of warning though: the water spigot is at a weird angle and my [fairly cheap] new water hose was wedged on firmly. The spigot handle position did not allow me to get a good grip and so i had to say goodbye to my new hose. One of the gentlemen that worked the shop tried to help me but his tools were inside and they didn't open for another 15 mins.

Typical KOA in that the sites are really close together. Not a huge problem since we were there to sleep, but I did wait until later in the evening to go mess with my sewer hose as my neighbors were outside BBQing and hanging out and I didn't want to bring out the stinky slinky on them. That close.

Otherwise clean and easy to navigate. Wish the pool stayed open beyond dusk. Friendly check in. Great location for visiting ABQ and Santa Fe.

It didn't look so far out on the map, but it is quite a bit outside of Carlsbad proper and the cave. That was the only real minus, but that wasn't even that bad. WIDE spacious paths and sites. You could get any size RV in this place. My little 20 footer could have parked in any direction in our pull through spot! Well-organized layout. Lovely fish pond near the bathrooms. Shower didn't get super hot for me in the afternoon but my daughter had no problems that night. Excellent stopover.

So convenient to downtown San Antonio and the Riverwalk area! Check in was quick. Had a pull-through site so no problems there. Nice trees to give some shade. Delicious breakfast at the center of park for reasonable price. Big park but was fairly quiet at night [that I can tell; our AC was on a lot... texas in June!] But honestly the close to town factor was the main winner here. Did have to use level blocks slightly but nothing huge.

All in all, I liked this place. Pull through spots are always a plus with me. The amenities were spectacular! The lazy river was the big draw for us. This is a very "pop open a beer and hangout" kind of place. Check in was smooth and friendly. Location is great: away from all the bustle of Galveston proper, but across the street is beach access. Level concrete sites. No shade if that is important. Family friendly movie night hosted outside which was fun! A great deal if you are headed to Galveston. Wifi was strong.

So yes, they do have some political flags in their backyard. You won't see them until after you pull in. Lady was very nice to me. Cash or check only but she was able to break a larger bill i had. My political sticker is different from her political flag but no one harassed us. Site was almost level, very wide. Very close to pie restaurant!

In all this was a fine place to spend the night.

Was so overjoyed to find a place with electrical hookups for a warm June afternoon in Texas! Pulled in mid to late afternoon. No attendant, so we filled out the card at the shed and put the money in the pig. Puled right on over to a fabulous level spot under a beautiful pine tree which gave some extra sun shade. Quiet here, some road noise but nothing awful. A few full-timers but we all minded our own business. There is a laundry shed [bonus points!] so bring quarters. It got nice and cool that night and was so pleasant to sit outside while i waited on laundry, reading and then looking at the stars after dark. Oh, there WAS a train that went by, and i mean, right by, the park. Once at night [before midnight] and once around 7 or 8 AM. I like train noises though. There are tent camping spots too on an astroturf square in the middle! Well-taken care of, really enjoyed this stop.

Let me start with the good:
-LOTS of amenities for families! indoor pool and hot tubs, bouncy pillow, go karts, horse rides, room to ride bikes, etc
-indoor pool was so nice and we lucked out to be parked right next to it!
-lots of lovely trees
-friendly staff
-easy to navigate

Some cons to consider:
-like most KOAs this one has you packed in TIGHT. This may have been the tightest fit I've been in yet.
-site was VERY uneven. this was the highest I've ever had to pull up on my curved levelers and it made me super nervous. But nothing happened, just glad we had a step stool to help us get in. it didn't look that uneven when pulling in but it was.

I would still stay here. it got quiet at night, was very convenient to both Williams and Flagstaff. You could have a great time just staying here in camp! it is close to the interstate but the noise didn't really bother me.
