We stayed here a week with 4 other families and everyone loved it. Kids from 2 to 18 had a blast at the pools and lazy river. Plenty of showers and laundry available. The parking spots are level and have plenty of room.
park is nice. I like the state park up the road a bit its more open and has beach access but at a cost of 8.00 for state park fees.
This park was about a block or two from the public access beach that was nice and clean.
When hubby and I first discussed a visit to Galveston, we knew we wanted to stay a month. That meant a RV Park was the way to go versus the Galveston Island State Park, which has a 2 week max reservation gate. By staying 30 days, we scored a monthly rate of $545 total. No additional charges for tax or electric. That brought our nightly rate for full hook-ups to a little more than $18 a night.
The weather was cool during our stay and therefore we didn't use either of the pools. The onsite free mini-golf was cute and entertaining. The pond is home to ducks and other birds as well as the park is surrounded by agricultural land with horses, cattle, and alpacas. The beach is across the highway at the public access. Some days we walked over there and other days we drove. We parked right on the beach.
Galveston itself was a very pleasant surprise with so much to do. Galveston and the Jamaica Beach RV Park seem like a great place to visit with children, grandchildren, extended families, or even a romantic get away. The whole area has a little something for everyone.
The RV sites were nicely spaced. Concrete with a picnic table. Free WiFi and Cable. The onsite laundry was a bonus and I never had to wait.

We came back for another week at this park in February 2017 because we had such a good experience the first time around. Unfortunately, this stay was a different story. The park is expanding and we were put in a spot that was pretty much in the middle of a construction site. Nails and other debris on the pad as we pulled in, cable wasn't working, no picnic table, concrete trucks going by and backing up (beep-beep-beep) constantly - you get the picture.
When I finally got to talk to one of the owners I didn't get an apology, just a nasty "well, you shouldn't have been in that spot in the first place, it's not ready!" Well, their staff should know better than to assign spots that aren't ready!
If you do go, try to get a spot in the front of the park - that's the old, established, lush area you want to be in.

One of the disadvantages of traveling during off-peak season is that many parks and facilities are trying to complete expansion and remodeling before the peak tourist season. Same here. We stayed in a newer section of the park, and while all the amenities worked as promised, it wasn't much to look at - trucks and piles of materials lined the access, and much of the park was trashy looking because of the construction. Once this is finished, this should be a nice family-friendly park. It is definitely less expensive than the pricier resorts close to town.
Having said that, the sites were large and level, with HD cable TV. They were quiet, and very close to the beach, which is where we spent a lot of our time in Galveston. There is good straight-shot access to Galveston proper via Termini - San Luis Pass Road.
Things like pools and miniature golf don't mean that much to us, but they're available on-season.
Management was mostly helpful and courteous and gave us recommendations for places to see and local restaurants.
One ding: three times during our stay the power went out, and when we asked management about it, they were kinda ho-hum about it, and said it probably the local utility company's fault.

This is a great park that is currently in expansion with a new lazy river and playground going in that will add to its value. We've stayed here several times during the past few years and it's always generally been a good experience. There is beach access within walking distance across the road. Most of the staff is friendly, but there are few that are a little less pleasant at times. Something I hope they work on in the future... but otherwise a very nice and clean park to take the family.

We were in the Gavleston area, and the main reason we stayed here was that all of the other RV parks were already on their summer rates, while this park was still on their off season rates, so it was a tad cheaper, also we liked that they had a two-week rate since we were staying for two weeks.
We specifically asked to be put in an area as private as possible. They put us in the newer part of the park. The benefit is that it was definitely quiet most of the time, it seems they fill the older part of the park first before putting people in the expansion. However being the newer part of the park the vegetation is not as lush, so there is not as much privacy or shade.
The new lazy river and the bath house / laundry that is part of the expansion was still under construction. It looks like it will be really nice once complete, and is apparently only a few weeks away, but in the meantime there was a bit of construction noise during the day.
They have a very nice large dog run. One of the largest I have seen at any other RV park. Unfortunately they have not put any benches, or seating there, so if you want to sit while your dog runs you either need to sit on the grass or bring your own chair. Hopefully in the future they will put a table and maybe a shade cover out there, that would be nice.
Most of the time we were there the two pools were busy with kids and families so we didn't bother, but the pools do look really nice. They also have miniature golf, though unlike most RV parks it appears there is a fee for it...however it is a much nicer looking course then most RV parks include. We did not play though so I cannot comment on the actual play of the course.
It is about a 20 minute drive from Galveston, during the weekend when there is heavy traffic it can take even longer to get to the popular areas (like Stewarts beach).
We now have family in Galveston so we will be back. The park didn't wow me enough to where it is a guarantee that I will stay there again, but if they have the best price in the future I would certainly stay again.

This park is south of the main happenings on Galveston Island, but not by so far that it's inconvenient. That does help make it more quiet. The lazy river was not opened as of the second of June, but it was complete enough to see that it will be a great diversion for the park. The pool was nice and the walk to the beach short. There is a Saturday morning breakfast that opened at 8AM on the third floor of the main office building - the food was good and reasonably priced. I did not use the mini-golf or the spa. I peeked into the bath houses and the laundry, but used neither. They appeared average, as is typical for a beachfront park. I would stay here again if I stayed on Galveston Island.
