The RV Park is just a grassy lot with room for about 20 RVs with a small concrete pad for your patio. There are a couple of trees but most spots are in the open. The pads are grass so not completely level but not too bad. The full hookups worked fine but they did warn us not to dump full tanks all at once or it could backup.

The new owner was seen working all day, everyday fixing things up. The on-site restaurant is good and the little cafe across the road has really good breakfast (great pancakes)!

On the downside there are dirt roads on all 4 sides of the little park and the locals haul ass covering your rig and dinner with dust.

We thought the price was high for the quality of amenities but we wish the new owner success.

There’s lots for kids to do with a pool, playground, loaner bikes, ice cream social, pancakes, parade and probably other stuff. The sites are close together and with all the kids tearing around and screaming all day, it’s really not peaceful. There are no trails near the campground so there’s nowhere to even walk to. Like most of Eastern Oregon, not much social distancing except for the staff.

Wifi was good and fast, good cell service, full hook-ups and pull-through sites (not completely level but we made it work). Power was out when we got there but came back by the time we got parked and leveled.

We really enjoyed this spot. Plenty of level sites nicely spread out, very scenic, fun hiking in the surrounding hills, no road noise if you go in a ways. We would have liked another day or two to just relax in the quiet but needed to push on towards home.

We decided to extend our coast trip for a day and we were able to get a same day reservation for a Thursday night. It’s something of a kite surfer Mecca with a school and rentals right there on the lake. Beautiful trails through the dunes to the ocean. Great spot to put in a kayak on the New River though the lake might be a challenge with the strong winds. Quiet and clean, warmer than the rest of the coast by about 5 degrees for some reason.

Bathrooms were NOT clean so we didn’t use them.

WiFi was only sporadically available.

This is a very poorly maintained site, worst fairgrounds we’ve ever stayed at. Sites are very close together and there were 2 apparently abandoned junk trailers there. Broken sprinklers turned half of the spaces into giant mud pits. Lots of transients came in late at night and left early the morning without paying.

On the plus side, the water and electric did work and it was pretty quiet. At $30 it seemed overpriced but a lot cheaper than the alternative at River Point.

All of the sites except for the one we got appear to be permanent residents. There is a nice grassy common area, the site was level and the park is very quiet. Cell service is 2-3 bars on Verizon and the WiFi comes and goes. Fine for a stop over or if you need a place to stay while exploring the area but it is in a residential neighborhood near town and the park itself is not a destination.

This little park is so quiet you can hear coyotes at night and not much else. There is green grass between sites and apple trees at some. The restrooms/showers/laundry room were reasonably clean and the showers were hot with good pressure. The desert was so beautiful in fall and the little reservoir was just a 10 minute walk. We drove down with our tandem kayak and had the whole thing to ourselves for a lovely late afternoon paddle. The place was filling up as we left with hunters for the start of the season October 1st. They seem to have a nice cleaning facility for your harvest.

Great cell service on Verizon.

This park was fine for a night on our way to Summer Lake but not really worth $42. The gravel site was rutted to the point where we had to get out leveling blocks and it is right next to highway 97 so there is lots of traffic noise. The main attraction seems to be ATV trails that are accessible right from the park and judging by the number of high-end ATVs and dirt bikes we saw in the park, they must be great. Since we do trails on foot, it wasn't that fun for us and we would rather be able to sleep at night.

We were looking to escape the heat inland and this was good little hideaway. It’s far enough off the coast to escape the fog and low 70’s during the day. Sites are clean, small but with a little privacy, fairly level. No showers or bathrooms open due to COVID.

Horse shoe game was fun but the pits are falling apart and need to be fixed up. Lots to do in the area!

The owner Hal is a terrific guy and took good care of us.

Quiet location next to the fairgrounds, small park with lots of full timers but neat and seemed safe. Restrooms run down but reasonably clean. Host was a nice guy
