This place has a lot to offer for the price you pay. There’s a huge laundry room so you don’t have to wait for a washer. There is a small fitness area with treadmill, stair master and stationary bike. There’s a pool table, shuffle board, mini golf, playground, pool and probably other games you can check out. There is a nice patio with gas grills and a clubhouse for group get togethers. Sites are a decent size but close together and not necessarily level but the park is very clean and quiet. What I loved most was all the citrus. Valencia oranges, lemons, limes and tangerines were ripe when we were there and we picked about 3 or 4 pounds! There are computers and a printer you can use. On top of all that, the staff are genuinely nice and helpful.

It was very quiet and convenient to town. Sites are long and level, wifi good but slow in the evening when everyone is trying to stream, cell service was good. I think the bathrooms are closed due C-19 but we had full hookups so didn’t need it. Most sites are well shaded with large trees. Path along the river is only a few hundred yards but a walk to town is good for exercise. Folks are super friendly and helpful in these parts. Reservations can be made by phone.
We were going to stay at Clyde Holliday which was beautiful but we were attacked by hundreds of mosquitos as soon as we got out of the truck so we high-tailed it out of there and headed for the county fairgrounds as our backup plan.
A good value but not a destination spot.

This and the Cactus Gardens park next door are identical, owned by Encore. Gravel sites are all back in, close together and not even close to level. The pool, fitness room, and rec hall were all closed due to COVID-19 but the price remains the same. No free WiFi and the paid WiFi service was so slow we couldn’t even get email or Google to load. A refund was promised in 8 to 10 business days.
Traffic noise from busy roads on all sides of the park is really loud during morning and afternoon rush hours and thundering miles-long freight trains roar by all night. As you can see from the picture, it’s not a popular spot.
We only stayed because Mike was working at Arizona Western College nearby.

Pros:
Park is well maintained and managed, laundry and showers are clean and work well, good boat ramp, pretty well stocked store, lots of trees and grass, nice patios on the riverfront sites if you can get one. Nice municipal golf course nearby. WiFi signal is strong throughout the park but very slow.
Cons:
Mix of full-time retirees in all kinds of dwellings from nice single-wides to junky old travel trailers in half the park. Other half is rented for short-term and seasonal. People park their trailer for the summer and come on the weekends to play on the river so gets quiet during the week and a little rowdy on the weekends. Newer sites (short-term) don’t have trees yet and no sewer so a pump out truck comes twice a week. Long way into town for supplies.
Overall it felt safe and the people were nice enough but kept to themselves for the most part.

It’s a parking lot but there are tables and fire rings at the sites on the perimeter, showers are not bad and only 50 cents for 5 minutes. Lots of neat trails and day use areas nearby. There is a bar and cafe a half mile down the road at the Samoa Social Club and famous Samoa Cookhouse 3 miles away. Woodley Island Marina has a nice little restaurant for breakfast or dinner if you want something nicer but not too spendy.
Campground felt safe. There is a host on-site to enforce the 7 day limit.

Contrary to older reviews, the water here was great, the park was clean and very quiet and the sites were reasonably level. We loved the art around the lake and on the hill above the park. The staff was very friendly and professional and the park seemed secure and safe. They lock the gate at 8 pm though they will open it for you if you’re coming back late.
