We didn’t stay here, but drove through and moved on. We were heavily in the clouds so can’t say how pretty it is but I can say we definitely wouldn’t have fit with our 32ft fifth wheel. We even had trouble making the turn to drive the loop a second time. The only site that would have been a possibility was the host site which was empty and said it was blocked for the season for hosts only. There are some sites before the actual CG where there was a fifth wheel but that only works if no one else is there (I think there were technically 3-4 sites in that space). We moved on down to glacier CG in Valdez.

We stayed two nights, we were the only people in the RV park the whole time. Very clean, water and electricity with dump station across the park. Nice park with lots of grass for kids, throwing the ball for the dog, frisbee course. Wi-Fi in the campground.

A few barking dogs from neighboring property that barked quite a bit, not too late into the night, but enough that we noticed. Weather was cool so we were inside most of the time… you could hear the trains, but not enough to be a bother. Quite a few people driving behind the loop or sometimes through it pretty fast.

Overall would stay here again.

We arrived for a layover night as we were making our way from Yellowstone to Glacier. Just off the road but quiet once things mellowed down. Sites 1-10 reservable and 11-15 FCFS. Our 32’ 5th could fit into a handful of sites. Campground host was the perfect USFS volunteer host, which was a plus for us and she met us as we got backed into our site. We enjoy non-concessionaire public campgrounds.

Fee was very reasonable and less than up at Georgetown lake. 50% off for Senior or Access pass holders.

Water was available in camp and was encouraged to fill the tank before leaving, however it did require a water bandit (typical smooth hose faucet).

There was a free dump in Anaconda at the Conoco.

We arrived on a Saturday, which I was nervous about, around 230pm and there were plenty of spots available. The reservable spots are the electric, either 30 amp or 50. Those spots are gravel, mostly level, and more expensive (still pretty cheap for electric hookup tho). They also have some RV pad sites which more seemed like larger pull throughs (but most would have been pretty tight for our 32 ft fifth wheel). We ended up driving one of the roads and then chose a spot which was on the outside loop near the waterfall. I want to say you could probably get any size rig in- we’re 50+ ft combined and had no issue. Only noise was from ppl driving the loop, it was very quiet.

I will agree that the inner roads are a little narrow and some of the sites get really small. Quite a few looked like they hadn’t seen anyone for the season. There is a dump with a flush and also potable fill. Best of all there are free, very hot showers.

We spent 4 days in Valdez, and in our time saw most of not all other camping options. All the RV parks are completely packed like sardines in gravel lots right on the busy roads and Allison Point was parking spots along the road. This spot is by far the best and cheapest option.

We ended up only doing a drive through as spots were too small for our 32 ft fifth wheel. No camp host, campground doesn’t look well maintained. We were able to make the drive around the loops, but barely. We could have maybe crammed the trailer into one or two spots, but the truck would have had to go elsewhere and most spots were too narrow for our slides. Only two other campers in the place at 4pm. Headed to south rolly for hopefully better luck…

This fit our needs of an overnight stop, full hookups, and close to Portland. We didn’t do any exploring of the area, but would’ve if we’d had more time. The A loop sites weren’t the most level for pull through spots, we had to unhook and use riser blocks to level our fifth wheel. A bit of train and road noise but not bad. B loop had a few pull throughs that were more level, but they parallel the road though the campground. Verizon reception not great.

We stayed here 6/14-6/18. We were able to make reservations a few days in advance for 2 nights and then decided to extend and we’re able to get a spot by walking to the reservation center. There are 700+ sites so I would imagine you could almost always find something… the loops that are closer to the outer/back edge are still tucked in the trees while the center of the CG and towards the reservation center are in the area that I presume was logged for beetle death. They seemed to be most of the full hookup sites.

You definitely don’t feel that the CG is so large- each loop is 10-15 sites, both loops we stayed in were well spaced. We stayed in 47A (electric) and 30D (no hookups no fire) and both were great. We were able to fit our 32’ fifth wheel in 30D which the website had as 27’ or less no problem. Free clean showers and nice bathrooms in the loops.

Would definitely stay here again, great spot to go do other activities around Jasper. Site pricing is dependent on what services you have.

We weren’t able to stay here, or really any dispersed areas nearby because all the roads were still closed- I just wanted to throw this up in case others were thinking of dispersing this time of year. We didn’t realize the roads would be closed, the only area you could get to was the very lower part of this road where the first vault toilet is- and it was busy and muddy… forest service said the roads should be opening up soon, but maybe call ahead to double check if you’re headed this way… forest service had some recommendations for the area, but we ended up at Gros Ventre CG instead.
