Large open leveled area. Plenty of space for many rigs but we camped with no more than three on any given night. Met great neighbors here! 15 minutes to the caverns and a half hour to Guadalupe Mountains. Perfect Boondocking! Doesn’t get much better!

This RV resort just 10 minutes north of downtown is a great option for a weekend in this charming Texas town, or just an overnight stop south of Dallas! You could even use this as a home base to explore Dallas since it’s only 30-40 minutes away!

The Good:
. It’s just a couple years old and it looks like Phase II is almost ready to open. Everything looks pristine!
. Rigs of all size will fit nicely. Most spaces even have room for a 2nd vehicle too!
. There are two dog parks and a very large walking trail on site! There is also a fire pit that looks like it’s coming soon, cornhole boards, and a pool in phase II.

The Bad:
. The speed bumps! y’all it’s a lot! 😜 We were fortunate enough to have one right outside our bedroom and when these huge trucks hit them, it sounds like a car wreck! We had to go over a total of 8 speed bumps when we exited with our 42’ in tow. 😥
. The Entry: They will send you the gate code prior to arrival. However if you’ve never been there, and have a huge rig in tow. I recommend that you stop along the entry road before going through the gate to find out where you need to go first. There is no check in parking lane once you enter the gates.

Things to note:
. Don’t pick 408: Somehow I managed to choose the only spot that wasn’t level because it’s located in a drainage area! We had to pull up on blocks.
.The back in spots are just as long as the pull through spots, and the ones on the east side of the park have great views of the pond! However avoid the center back in spots along that row on that row because the fenced out sewer area does cause odor at the sites nearby.
. This RV resort is very family friendly. There were little ones out playing and riding bikes. There is also a playground. For some this might be great, others not as much. Just thought I’d note this.

Overall, we would definitely return for another night or two for a back in spot! We really enjoyed the walking trail!

Let me start by saying that owner was very friendly and very accommodating. However the property needs a lot of work. As we pulled in we couldn’t even tell that it was an operating business. We were about 10 seconds away from pulling out when the owner came out to greet us. Had he not come out, we would have left. The website shows nicely stoned sites, but the stones are long gone and are now mostly grass and dirt. The property looks severely neglected. The roads need a lot of maintenance. There is at least six Brokedown dilapidated RVs on the property. There are random old grills, patio furniture spread out sporadically. Aesthetically it was just not a pleasing place to stay. Hopefully he gets a workamper in there to help clean up the random debris, and lay new stone drives, and such.

This was a stopover on the way to San Antonio. Overall it was perfectly fine for the one night, but it is not a location we would seek out to stay again. There are not many trails to walk around the park. The area with hook ups does not necessarily have water views from the site. Each site is very spacious, but it’s wide open flat ground. Each camper can see one another. The town of San Angelo is cute. Unfortunately it was extremely cold and drizzly when we were there. However in warmer sunnier weather, definitely a work in a stroll through the town while you are there. Tip: do not necessarily follow your GPS. Ours sent us to the headquarters/offices. The camping area is around the way about 15 to 20 more minutes. We should have followed the signage from the highway! Lol! Also if you are in a small rig or tent camping, the no hook up area is way more beautiful! You are right on the water! Although I think we only saw maybe one site that would hold our 33 foot trailer! Most spots were equipped for a class C or B.

Gabby is a wonderful host! She has property just SE of the center of the city. On a few acres she has her family’s home, large front yard, and five spaces in the back. There is a picnic table area as well. Full hookups for $35 per night was the best price we could find within 20 minutes of the Alamo. Her property is just a quick 4 minute drive or short bike ride to the most southern of the Spanish missions, Espada. The spaces themselves are standard size for private campgrounds. Decent backing skills are required for these spaces. See google maps for the drives. The location is among an industrial area, but the direct neighboring properties are woods and a church. There is a gate to enter the drive. A key is required as you enter and exit each time. Overall, great find and we would love to return at some point!

We pulled in mid-week, no reservations. That’s just how we travel. We saw multiple spaces open. More than 6. We followed the sign for self check in which led no where. We called the number multiple times. Finally someone answered and said, they’ll be full but we can pull in to a spot near the back. 20 minutes later....The road is slightly rutted, there seemed to be a pile of junk in the back. There was a pack of five dogs running off leash. We ended up leaving for Study Butte RV Park instead. Meanwhile, we passed BJ’s multiple times during our stay and the front pull throughs are all still available. No where near full! We’ve been to dozens of parks with self checkin and never had such issues. This was nutso!

Disclaimer: we drove through in truck. Didn’t stay here though. The road of 170 through the park to the campground is quite curvy and windy, but we did see a fifth wheel and a class A on the main road. The turn off to the campground area is a gravel road, but level with no ruts. The majority of the campsites would fit tents, truck campers, and vans. Maybe a few smaller class C as well. However campsite number 16 would fit a large rig. we would return with a 33 foot travel trailer and attempt that site. There were also several unnumbered areas that had been leveled out recently. It appears that they are looking to add more RV it appears that they are looking to add more RV sites. There was a shelter with a picnic table underneath at this site. We were there during 70° weather in the winter and no one else was camping in this campground.

Parkers Crossroads Rv Park and Campground
Located halfway between Memphis & Nashville

We highly recommend this stop whether it be the night or a longer stay! It’s great! Reasonable price at $40 something per night.

Easy in and out and just a mile and a half off the freeway! They were able to accommodate our 43’ fifth wheel without unhitching for the night!

The office has a fun 1950’s soda shop theme, there is a beautiful koi pond, tons of green park-like space, a pool, and a large fishing pond! So much space to walk the dogs! My hubby even grabbed his fishing pole and headed down to the pond for a while! I sat in the gazebo for a while on the hanging swing.

Great stop to break up our trek back up north! We will definitely return again.
