My wife and I stayed four nights here to visit two of our sons who live in the area over the 4th of July while on a trip from Florida to Alaska. We have a travel trailer, 31' overall and while it fit into our back in site, our F150 would not fit and I had to park it crosswise. We paid $54 a night for three nights (holiday rate) and $49 for one night. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but the park is located in town and is one of the very few campgrounds so centrally located. The sites have concrete pads and grassy patio areas. The sites are pretty close together. Our site pad was almost perfectly level. It is a very clean and well maintained campground and even though packed full while we were there it was very quiet. Yes, there is some road noise from nearby highways, but the noise was not that bad. My wife and Granddaughter used the pool and said the area and buildings were very clean and nice. She always checks us in when we arrive at a campground and said the check in staff was very businesslike and made sure we were aware of the rules. I found the staff running around the park on golf carts to be friendly. The campground's wifi is usable for email, etc., but we streamed Netflix using our AT&T Mobley hotspot. The main thing I did not much care for is it seems the power pedestals and water spigots are about half way between the sites. As I type this review sitting in a camp chair right beside our trailer the site next to us power pedestal and water spigot is within five feet. Fortunately, their sewer, while visible, is next to their trailer.

Wow! We camped in the “primitive” area, site 43. No hookups, but paved and a beautiful site with great views for $10 a night! We would definitely stay here again.

Spent one night here while traveling through the area on I-10 East. Pretty level gravel pads, 50 amp electric, water and sewer hookups, picnic table. Some sites have concrete patios and fire rings. Sites spaced out fairly well. Lots of shade trees. These are real deal Cajun speaking folks and super nice. Very well kept place. We recommend this campground.

We spent a couple of nights here and scored one of two really choice campsites right next to the lake, with no campsites between our site and the water. Our site had full hookups: 30/50 amp electricity, water and sewer. The entire park is kept clean and mowed. Quiet, too. Cannot speak to bathroom facilities as we did not use them. The park also has a marina and boat launch. Lots of friendly ducks. Even spotted an alligator on the shore next to a short canal behind our trailer—he was very shy when we tried to get close enough for a good photo. Good Verizon LTE data and voice connection. The park has free wi-if and Internet, but like most, it was spotty and slow. They did tell us they are working to improve it. We recommend this park.

We arrived here on a Friday afternoon and there were lots of empty campsites. The staff is friendly and this park is very well kept, neat and tidy. Asphalt roads and pads and our site was perfectly level. Lots of shade. 30 amp electricity and good water, picnic table, charcoal grill, fire pit that also has a grill and a lantern post. Beautiful view oki-doki the lake out our rear picture window. Quiet and peaceful. Verizon signal is poor, but our Mi-Fi worked fine

We fled our home in Florida just before Hurricane Irma got there and ended up at this campground. We are very happy with it. Very nice staff. Very clean, neat place. We didn't use the facilities, so cannot comment, but if the rest of the place is any indicator the previous reviewers are probably correct. This place is loaded with fellow Florida evacuees and the first night is free. Full hookups, including cable TV, which was very handy to have for the Weather Channel to monitor the 'cane. Nice level concrete pads and patios. Dog friendly. Good clean power. We definitely recommend this campground. Close to beaches and casinos (happy wife). Pretty quiet most of the time. Some airplane and helicopter noise during the day because it's close to Keesler AFB, but not too bad and not at night.

My wife found this place after a long day of driving. It's not the easiest place to get to—steep uphill climb, but it has a decent view out over the valley. Nice campground host. Electric and water for $20 a night for our campsite, but others are cheaper. We stayed here in a 31' overall travel trailer and I did not have to unhook. Virtually deserted. Quiet. Dark. Good stargazing. Gravel and dirt. No picnic table or fire rings.

We are staying one night here because we are just passing through the area. Nice, friendly, helpful staff. Very woodsy. We are in campsite #10 in the first loop and it is pretty level side to side, but had to raise the front of our trailer. The office said our site is 40’, but I had no problem backing in and fitting our 52’ of truck and trailer into the site without unhooking. Sand/dirt sites. Playground, splash park, small store at the office. A lake with kayak, etc., rentals. Quiet. The office said the first loop tends to have more level sites than the other loop. They could do a bit better job of cleaning up the sites. Ours has a couple of cig butts on the ground, a beer bottle and some trash in the fire pit. Since we always try to leave a campsite better than we found it I will pick this stuff up in the morning before we leave. We like this place.

We stopped here for one night while traveling through the area. Site was fairly level gravel and grass. Good 50 amp power for our two 15K btu air conditioners that were needed since it was in the upper 90s when we stopped here around 4:00 PM. The office lady was nice and led us to our site. Campground is neat and tidy. FHUs, but we only used electric. Did not check out the bathrooms or other amenities, so cannot comment. Seems to be several seasonal and/or permanent campers, but no problem. They had several open sites and when we called ahead they said we would not need a reservation. This campground has a lot of very long sites that can accommodate any size rig. Sites are a mix of shaded and open. We recommend this campground.

We spent one night here on our way home to Florida from Alaska after Hurricane Harvey forced us to take I-40 a lot further east than we had originally planned. This is a great little campground! For $12 a night you get water and electric and they have a dump. There are pull through sites, but we chose a back in site so the big rigs could use the pull throughs without unhooking their toads. Very clean place. My PI EMS says the power is very good. Pretty quiet place. We definitely recommend this campground if you are passing through.
