We spent one night here on our way home in Florida from Alaska. The $15 was the senior rate for a full hookup site. Mostly level asphalt pad and asphalt roads. Nice helpful ranger. Clean restrooms and showers. Very quiet. We recommend this campground.

We are in the middle of spending three nights here and really like this campground. Very neat, clean and well kept. We are in site 32 with our 45’ Montana fifth wheel and have plenty of room. Most or all sites are 30 amp and no sewer, but there is a dump station. Nice lake. We are staying in mid-October, mid-week and it is a quiet peaceful place and not overly crowded. We have a decent view of the lake. The weather has been beautiful, cool and crisp. Roomy campsites and situated in a way the, although open, there is a sense of at least some privacy on your camp side. They have some of the best burning firewood we’ve ever got at a state park here in the East and you get a choice of pine or oak. We will definitely come back here again and recommend this park.

Everything the previous reviewer said is true. This is a very small campground and units are quite tightly packed together. As the park says, this is an old park designed and built when RVs were much smaller than today. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, both on the phone and in person. Very nice! Check in was easy (we had made a reservation, but they worked with me and easily allowed me to change our site after we took a first hand look at it). The pads are gravel and the road is dirt. We camped there Wednesday through Friday night and as I type this on Thursday the campground is not very full, although we could not get a waterfront site--I assume they are booked for later in the week. This is a very peaceful place, but while they seem to be working to improve it (the clubhouse is currently being rebuilt and most of the electrical system, pedestals, etc., appear fairly new) it needs more work and could maybe be a bit neater. In all fairness though, I believe they were probably heavily damaged by Hurricane Hermine a couple of months ago and are still in the repair and cleanup process. My Verizon Mi-Fi device is receiving two bars of 4G/LTE and my iPhone reads -114 db and LTE inside our travel trailer with no external antenna. The campground has Wi-Fi, but it is very, very slow. I ran a speed test and averaged around .3-.5 Mbps download and around .1 Mbps upload speeds. Thus, I am using my Verizon Mi-Fi--much faster. This is a Good Sam rated park and we, being GS members, got a 10% discount off the $50 per night rate, thus the $45 per night shown. Ada Cafe is onsite, but is closed today, so we have not tried it yet. I think they advertise 27 flavors of homemade fudge!! There is a very quaint Tiki Bar a few doors down--we enjoyed it. I think they could make this campground better by having a few less campsites with a bit more room per campsite. As it currently is I honestly think it's a bit overpriced; however, having said all that, we would definitely stay here again. We really enjoy the laid back, friendly atmosphere of Cedar Key.

We lucked out and scored a campsite in the beach side campground this weekend. Nice place! Our 32’ overall travel trailer just does fit in our site. Water (low pressure) and power (running around 110-112 volts). Upper 80s, so everyone is running A/Cs. Sand roads and campsites with mostly low vegetation between sites. Easy access to nice beach. Nice clean restrooms. Dump. Close to Flagler Beach (north) and Ormond (south). Beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean and beach out our large rear window. As others have said, check in is at the Ranger station in the west side of the road and there is a large roundabout just past the station to turn around. The campground road is not all that wide and it does make backing into a site a little more difficult if there is a camper across the road from the site. We recommend this park. Staff is friendly and the hosts are very diligent in maintaining the place.

My wife and I spent three nights here in our 23' travel trailer, meeting up with some friends and attending the awesome Tampa RV Supershow. This is a beautiful park with around 113 campsites, although there are some size limitations on many of the sites. The Hillsborough River flows through the park and there is a large picnic area with shelters and a playground for the kids. The park has a store and restaurant and bike/kayak/canoe rentals. We found the park to be neat and clean, as were the restroom/shower facilities. The campground was very quiet at all times. Each site has a fire ring/grill and I believe all have electric (15/30/50 amp) and water hookups. There is a dump station for dumping the holding tanks with non-potable water available for flushing tanks, rinsing stuff off, etc.

If it even looks like rain might be in the forecast you will want to avoid campsite #113. It has a low spot that flooded when it rained while we were there and the entire area outside our RV's steps was underwater.

While the normal price per night was $24.00, we, being Florida residents over 65 years old, get 50% off, so our total for the three nights was $47.02 (includes the booking fee for Reserve America reservation of $6.70 and taxes of $4.32).

We definitely recommend this state park.

We spent one night here while evacuating from Florida when Hurricane Irma came calling. Because we were evacuees our stay was free. I believe most of the other campers were also fleeing Irma. Very nice hosts! They coordinated a potluck breakfast and provided the eggs and cooked them. We enjoyed it and meeting several fellow campers. Our site was gravel and dirt and was mostly level. Many of the other sites were much nicer than ours, but we were lucky to get this one as the campground was full up. Nice view of Lake Seminole and we had water and electric hookups. They have a dump. We did not use other facilities, so I cannot comment on them. We would have liked to have stayed longer, but Irma's path shifted west, so we decided to move further west, too. We recommend this Park and would stay here again.

This is the second time we have stayed overnight in this state park campground while traveling west on I-10. Last year we had site #2 and this year #18. Both sites were immaculate, with seemingly fresh gravel pads and level. Fire ring, picnic table, grill and a lantern hanging post in both, too. Since we are Florida residents over 65 we pay half price, so the site cost us $12, plus a $6.50 online booking fee to ReserveAmerica. The ranger and staff were very friendly and helpful. The campground is kept clean and neat and they even pick up your garbage! Water and Electric--good clean power according to our EMS. It was quiet and peaceful, too. They have some nice playground equipment for small children. We really like this campground and highly recommend it.

We were here in March 2018 and arrived shortly before dark in snowy weather. The campground was pretty full and as a previous review said, most of the campsites are for tents and small RVs. Our travel trailer is 31' and we drove around the campground twice before pulling our total 51' of truck and trailer into a parallel to the road campsite. We used our bedroom door because the steps to our main living area door would have extended into the roadway--that's how tight it was. If it had not been so late in the day and bad weather we would have left and found somewhere else. The next morning had beautiful weather, although a bit chilly, and the campground and area is truly beautiful. There is a nice museum and store that we visited on our way out. We recommend this place if you have a smaller RV.

We spent one night here on our way home to Florida from Alaska. This park is just a few miles up highway 550 north of Ridgeway, CO. While it is close to 550 there was very little highway noise. The ranger who checked us in was great. He asked me if I was a veteran and when I showed him my VA medical card he handed us a pass good for one month for entry into any Colorado state park. Awesome! Thank you Colorado!! We had our pick of a lot of sites since this was on a Monday night and the campground was not really being used by many campers. We camped in the Dakota Terraces section and it was lovely. Our pull through campsite had a nice picnic table with a shelter over it, a clean fire ring and a grill. It cost $26 a night for an electric only site. There is a nice two sided dump and there are potable water spigots around the park and at the dump. All the roads and pads are paved with asphalt and in very good to excellent condition. The buildings are in great shape. My wife (accidentally) walked into the men's instead of the women's restroom to check it out and said it was really nice inside. (We typically just use our own trailer's facilities.) There was a lake just below us and if we had not been in a hurry to set up before some rain hit, we could have pulled into a pull through site overlooking it. Later in the evening we went for a walk with our dog and saw a few deer and the following morning deer browsed their way a few feet away from our campsite. This park is kept up beautifully and we highly recommend it.

Background: this was the first place my soon to be wife and I ever camped (tent) together 45 years ago and the first picture ever taken of us as a couple was taken at the fort at that time, while I was in the USAF and stationed at MacDill AFB after returning from a tour in Vietnam. We were married a couple of months after this trip.

We wanted to recreate the picture and were lucky enough to score a campsite on fairly short notice. I also have a good friend who lives very close to the park and we had not seen each other in over forty years, so wanted to renew our friendship. On this trip we were not lucky enough to score a waterfront site (they are very nice), so had an interior site in the dog area (we have a dog). Check in was quick and easy. Our site was right by a restroom and it was clean and also close to a nice playground. We had electric and water hookups and the water was good. Our PI EMS system indicated good, steady power during our stay. It also had a picnic table and grill, but not a fire ring, although they could be rented at the store. We had our own, but since the temperature was in the low 90s we did not have any campfires. The park has a really nice set of very large off-the-leash dog runs, one for big dogs and one for small dogs. It also has a doggy beach. The East Beach was almost deserted and the North Beach is incredibly beautiful, just as it was 45 years ago. The nearest grocery store is 6-7 miles back north and requires paying a toll to get back to the campground. The camp store is very small, but had quite a bit of stuff. There are two dump stations in the campground, but from the doggy area we were required to exit the campground then come back in at the entrance to get to them. Both had standing water in the road right by the dump holes. The staff was friendly and courteous. We really enjoyed our stay here and yes, with the help of a patient stranger we were able to duplicate the photo.
