Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on June 01, 2019We arrived here on a Friday afternoon and there were lots of empty campsites. The staff is friendly and this park is very well kept, neat and tidy. Asphalt roads and pads and our site was perfectly level. Lots of shade. 30 amp electricity and good water, picnic table, charcoal grill, fire pit that also has a grill and a lantern post. Beautiful view oki-doki the lake out our rear picture window. Quiet and peaceful. Verizon signal is poor, but our Mi-Fi worked fine

This was a sweet spot! The 50 amp site was paved, super level, and shady. Yay! Friendly staff. The restrooms were simple and clean. There was water access to cane creek lake, which was a really interesting lake! Perfect for fishing, sup-boarding or kayaking (but NOT for swimming, friends!). Note the address is: 50 State Park Rd (not the address as stated in Campendium).

Small but well kept park on Cane Creek Lake; nice space between sites ,shade, good living area; level pads; lovely walkway to dock and boat ramp; 15+ miles of bike trails. Shout out to park staff who allowed us to change sites upon arrival to #9 which had a better water view. 18+ miles of well-marked hiking/bike trails. Clean restrooms. Not much nearby so stock up on supplies in advance. They do have bike and kayak rentals.

We enjoyed our stay and actually extended it one day twice. Our granddaughter lives nearby, and our daughter was not too far away either. I understand this is the place to be on Halloween. Campers return every year and some have spent hundreds-thousands of dollars to decorate their site to win the contest. Sites are level and easy to access. The Office Team is awesome and makes you feel welcome. If you are fortunate enough to get the senior discount, the reservation must be in the name of the person "of age". There are opportunities for nature walks, but not true hikes. The office rents bicycles, and other items. Oh and there are two buildings for gatherings like family reunions.
There is a great group of restaurants at the Village that includes a Steak House, and a Catfish Buffet.

We stayed here the Friday and Saturday night on Memorial Day Weekend. It was a last minute booking and the only Arkansas State Park with an availability those days.
The interactions with the park staff (Ranger and Superintendent) were wonderful. We told them our plans of doing their 16 mile Cane Creek Trail. They both suggested to skip the 6 miles uncovered levee walking and do a loop and part way double back. So glad we did. It was shady and cool the whole trail. We hiked to the primitive shelter had lunch and hiked back. 12 miles total. It is mainly flat.
Our campsite was the only one that had a shared drive. So we were less than 5 feet from our neighbors. Each of the sites (A&B) had their own water and electric hookups. The pads were level.
The bathrooms had showers with HOT water. They were clean and very well maintained.
We will definitely stay here again.

This 29 site campground is forested, so shady, but only 1 intermittent bar Verizon. At site 2, I had some WiFi from Visitor Center. Some OTA tv. A good 15 mi hiking trail from campground, although some is on highway. Road biking is good on highway—no shoulder, but light traffic and relatively flat. Sites are paved and level. 2 stall shower is hot with good pressure.
