Confirmed by 5 users | Last reported on November 28, 2023Right off of I-10, this was a very convenient halfway stop for us on our journey home. The bathrooms were clean (and checked by staff every hour). The grounds were also very well maintained. Hard to believe we were in the middle of a swamp as I didn't see a single mosquito. Cute things for little kids to play on and lovely shade trees. We mostly spent time in the pool. The camp host was very nice as well as the other campers there. Our spot only had 30amp and we didn't have a converter (110v only here... #scamplife) but everyone scrambled to find us one to borrow so we could run our fans to keep cool. The only complaint I have is that we were given a site in full sun. We were only there for the night so they were probably trying to give the shady spots to longer-term campers.

We were here as part of an Airstream caravan exploring the Cajun Country and this was our base of operation for several days.
The sites are generally gravel surrounded by grass. Many sites have a concrete pad for the table and sitting. All sites are three way and there are some 50 amp sites. There is good spacing between most sites. There are trees all over so there will be shade in the summer but also challenges for the satellite TV dish. The setting is very pretty.
The owners/operators are very friendly and accommodating.
Verizon signs was very good and we were able to stream Hd video.
The campground is about a mile south of I-10 so if the wind is right, there can be a little bit of noise but it’s not that oppressive highway noise you would hear if the CG was adjacent to the freeway.
This is an excellent place for an overnight while traveling on I-10.

Spent one night here while traveling through the area on I-10 East. Pretty level gravel pads, 50 amp electric, water and sewer hookups, picnic table. Some sites have concrete patios and fire rings. Sites spaced out fairly well. Lots of shade trees. These are real deal Cajun speaking folks and super nice. Very well kept place. We recommend this campground.

Good Sam rate $30. We stayed here on two overnight stays while traveling east and then west. We liked it so much we made an effort to stay again on our return journey. There is a lot of space between sites and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We were guided to our spot upon arrival and he spotted us for the back in site we had. At night the sound of bullfrogs, crickets and other swamp noises filled the air it was actually relaxing to sit and listen to the sounds before bed. During the day the sounds of wood peckers and other birds filled the air. There is also a nice visitor center at the exit from I-10.

Note- recently re-name as “Cajun Heritage RV Park” and under new ownership since Nov 2019. Beautiful large property with lots of grass common areas, mature trees, asphalt roads, very level pea-gravel sites, most sites with a concrete patios, picnic table and fire ring. Lots of space between sites gives this place a nice bayou feeling. Plenty of maneuver room for any size rig. Excellent access – only .7 miles off I-10 makes this a great one-night transit stop or a couple nights rest stop (we stayed 2 nites). Peaceful setting with no road noise, quiet and dark nights. New owners putting a lot of effort at cleaning and maintaining this park so my four star rating is actually generous to their effort. Bathhouse and laundry building is older but spotless clean. Kind of an isolated location so not much to do nearby. When compared to other similar parks, it’s a bit pricey for FHU service- $40/nite (with GS and vet discount) making this a little expensive for a basic campground with few amenities. No wifi or cable, but we got 23 channels OTA and had good Verizon connection. Office is closed Sunday and Monday and check-in was a bit awkward. During these closed hours not much for basic information (such as CG map to find site, bathroom code, emergency phone number) Pay by cash or check in an envelope. There was a host to guide you to the site. Giving this a generous 4-star, crediting the work the new owners are putting in and the beautiful surrounding.

Good: friendly helpful staff, pretty park when leaves are on trees.
Bad: potholes on access roads, I was expecting $32 rate, but charged $51 including discount and taxes. Ramps from & to I-10 are closed due to construction, so west bound people have to do a work around detours. No WiFi for weeks.

Very peaceful when we stayed here. Right now the tress are bare but i imagine when the leaves are in its lush. Clean and maintained sites. Ours was a little uneven to park on but not bad. Very easy to access off of I10 but just enough of a distance that you don’t hear the drone of the highway. Would definitely stay here again.

The spots have everything you need. Used this campground as a overnight stop on my trip. Pulling in I realized I was loosing air in my tire. The local campers and the camp worker were right there to lend me a helping hand and then went above and beyond to help me get backed in an leveled. I would stay at this campground again in a heart beat.

We stayed here over Thanksgiving weekend and had the best time! The park hosted a Thanksgiving dinner and then Saturday night there was a band.
Super easy to access off I-10, all the employees are incredibly friendly and helpful (Norma and Kenny were awesome), and all the sites were spacious. We didn’t feel like we were on top of each other.
We also loved that the park was not full of permanent residents. Looking forward to staying here again!!
