The sites were small and on top of each other. A lot of older seasonal campers with a bunch of stuff in there sites. Definitely draws crabbers, fisherman etc since access to the water. Rules not followed as far as quite time nor courtesy to other campers. Camp store limited to items but Royal Farms not to far away.
Stopped here to visit the Turkey Point Lighthouse. Nice little walk from the parking lot. Caution keep children and pets on the trail, steep drop off on right side with no warnings. Once there can climb the small lighthouse for views of the Chesapeake Bay. It stands on the 100 foot bluff, which makes it one of the highest lights off the water in the bay. Again while exploring the scenery, watch footing, children and pets.
Because of the natural wonder as someone else put it, it is worth the visit. Catching the tide in does make it more scenic to the eye. Limited parking especially later in the day, evening as some swim here and picinic.
Beautiful scenery and park to visit. Some place to stay prior to entering the park without staying in Bar Harbor. Lots to explore and get your adventure on.
Great location for everything Mystic and other nearby towns. Some of the places I enjoyed visiting Stonington- walking the streets, looking at all the older homes and the Old Lighthouse Musuem down by the waterfront, lunch at Noah's. Mystic -strolling main street, shops, draw bridge, Mystic Pizza, Mystic Seaport, Olde Mystic Village-steakhouse for dinner.
Loved the grounds and the home, for us there was to much focus on the Art aspect and pieces that were there. Would have much rather either self toured with a map of the pieces or another tour offered which did not have as much attention to the details of the art
Really nice campground, clean, staff super friendly and helpful. Close to train station to go into NYC, Supermarket close by. Plenty of things to do in the area to enjoy yourself.
Clean, small and dated
Love the lobby withthw grand ceiling and stoned glass! Worth a visit to walk thru and grab something at the bar.
Food and service was great!
