“The Rockefeller Estate”
This hilltop paradise was home to four generations of the Rockefeller family, beginning with the philanthropist John D. Rockefeller, founder of Standard Oil. His business acumen made him, in his day, the richest man in America. Now a historic site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, this extraordinary landmark has been continuously and meticulously maintained for more than 100 years. Kykuit is a 40-room National Trust house in Westchester County, New York, built by oil tycoon, philanthropist and Rockefeller family patriarch John D. Rockefeller. Largely conceived by his son, John D. Rockefeller, Jr., and enriched by the art collection of third-generation scion, Governor of New York and Vice President of the United States, Nelson A. Rockefeller, it has been home to four generations of the family. Your tour will take you to the main rooms of the six-story stone house. Then you will move on through the expansive, terraced gardens containing Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller's exceptional collection of 20th-century sculpture. Artists represented include Pablo Picasso, Henry Moore, Alexander Calder, Louise Nevelson, and David Smith, among many others. The underground art galleries with Governor Rockefeller's collection of Picasso tapestries, and the cavernous Coach Barn, with its collections of classic automobiles and horse-drawn carriages, are also part of the experience.

Amazing grounds and knowledgeable friendly guides, make sure to purchase tickets in advance and definitely do the grand tour it is worth it!
Call ahead or go online to make reservations for a tour. Would definitely recommend in the spring or fall. Beautiful home, beautiful grounds, beautiful artwork. Tour guide (Peter) was great; you really learn a lot about the Rockefeller family and their legacy. Would highly recommend.
Loved the grounds and the home, for us there was to much focus on the Art aspect and pieces that were there. Would have much rather either self toured with a map of the pieces or another tour offered which did not have as much attention to the details of the art
Grounds were beautiful, but our tour was packed and they kept us herded through with the group. I didn’t feel like I had enough time to look at things.
Such a beautiful home and wonderful grounds. Would highly recommend for a quieter day outside NYC.
