Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on October 10, 2023We needed a little Air Conditioning so we booked a site with full hookups. We booked one of their deals where if you check in on a Sunday, Monday or Tuesday and stay two nights, you get the third night free. I had to remind them of the deal when I was checking in because they tried to charge me for three nights.
A young kid in a golf cart escorted us to our back-in site. It was easy to get into. We were on the ridge and they really pile you in there. We could hear everything our neighbors were saying.
The laundry facility was super clean.
We loved the pools, playgrounds, jumping pillow. My three-year-old was obsessed with all of the diggers.
We loved it so much we are considering spending next summer there.

We were here during the week in early June, when school was still in session for local kids, so we felt like we had the campground more or less to ourselves. I'm sure we'd have a different experience on a busy weekend. Good separation between the sites for a KOA; we had a pull through near the office--nice, level site with some shade. Two pools, gameroom, bounce pillow, playground, mini-golf; the kids took advantage of everything and had a great time. They also have waterslides, but they weren't open during the week while we were there. There are some patio sites that are a good bit more expensive; I took a look when I was walking the dogs, and I'm glad we didn't spring for one of them; they're farther away from the amenities and not any bigger or more private than our site was. Very pricey campground overall, but I guess that's New England for you. Everything was clean and well-maintained, and the staff was very friendly. Easy access from the highway and very close to Mystic Seaport. Wi-fi worked very well (but, again, it wasn't crowded at all).

We camped here Columbus Day weekend, and the campground was full. There were lots of nice Halloween activities for children, including a movie night, a magician, trick-or-treating and a costume contest. Because the weather was still warm, the pool was open, but the waterslides were closed. Bathroom facilities were clean and the free showers had lots of hot water and good water pressure.
The problem, however, was that our site was on the south side of the safari field area. Highway 95 runs right behind this area. It felt like we were camping on the median of the highway. In addition, the sites are small and offer no privacy. Our awning was just inches away from our neighbor's slide out. Friends of ours were staying at one of the patio, full-hook up sites, and they had a little more breathing room, but again, about the same amount of privacy as you would expect from camping in a Walmart parking lot.
We did walk around the campground, and found that the wooded sites offer a more natural setting and would be good for small campers or tent camping, and the sound of the highway was muffled by the trees.
The campground offers free wifi, but whenever we tried to use it, it was so slow, it wasn't worth it. We used our AT&T 4G and had no trouble with internet connection speed.

Stayed here for 2 nights in March 2020 as our annual “shakedown trip”. Wanted full hookups so we could test our RV systems before the camping season begins. The park is easily accessed off of I-95 and is located on an old farm. Like many KOA’s, the sites are cramped together. Our neighbor’s campfire was literally less than 6 feet from our water connection. Hookups worked fine and checking was pleasant. It met our needs for what we were looking for for this particular trip. Wouldn’t necessarily stay here as a destination trip as we prefer state parks.

Dog and Kid friendly campground with large outdoor fields, walking trails, pools, fire pit, picnic table, store, full hookups, cabins (for those friends who do not have an RV). The staff was friendly and all the paperwork was waiting for us at the store counter. R10 was a full hookup site with cabins across the street. It was pretty quiet, but it is close to I-95, when outside you can definitely hear the interstate traffic, but not a deal breaker, this is of course if your close to the entrance or the highway side. Nice little dog park for the four legged family members. Close to Mystic, CT waterfront for great dining and entertainment. But, the Covid restrictions were in place at all corners, it is what it is.
Cons: our sewer connections threads were pretty much gone, so a donut was used with no problems, hookups were pretty much on the neighbors site, and we could not get the wi-fi to work, nor the cable, but we did have a loose coaxial cable in our rig, (figured this out on our next outing) so that was not their fault. The trash is picked up every morning and there are no dumpsters. These are all minor things and I'm just nitpicking, but it is what it is.
We would definitely stay here again in the future!!!

Overall it was a nice experience. Greeted by friendly staff at check-in where there is a nice shop with various amenities. Campgrounds about half full. I wish I had a booster for Wi-FiAs I kept getting dropped from my campsite but that was my only challenge or disappointment I. I am new at this so I kind of expected that from what I’ve read that campground Wi-Fi is not to be trusted

Stayed August 2021 - great location. Wish we stayed longer. The campground was very nice. VERY family-friendly, but even as empty nesters we liked it a lot. Very clean, safe, and tons to do at the campground. The campground was very full and activity going on everywhere, but everyone was wonderful, polite, and quiet during quiet time. Also, a ton to do in the surrounding area. Stonington is a gorgeous, tiny little area. This campground says Mystic, but it's not, it's Stonington, and Mystic is about 20+ min away. Even Providence and Newport were easy day trips. Too much to try to do in just 6 days. They put us in a site that was WAY too small for our 42' fifth wheel which was the only thing we weren't happy with. The park was full when we arrived and left making it tough getting in, tough getting out with all the cars behind and in front and a large branch hanging down that almost took out our AC units when we cut it as much as we needed to. We would stay there again in a different location.
Tip: Check out Wild Briars Family Farm for the most amazing baked goods. It's a tiny little stand hidden in Stonington. Really only the neighborhood knows about them, but there are lines and they sell out quickly so get there early. I think they are only open 3 days a week. Definitely worth the effort.

Site wasn't quite flat enough, could use some work on the pull through site. Good staff, had trash pickup right away and very friendly. Getting in and out with a pull through site was easy and plenty of room. The pool was closed for repairs in July which was disappointing.

They place rocks at the corners of tight turns in the most inconvenient and ineffective places. Be extra careful. Better yet stay elsewhere!

Wanted one last night before I put the MH up for the season. Got site C7. The site was level enough. My neighbor with a large 5th wheel had to drive through low branches to exit. I had to exit my site straight through the site in front of me. A tree with a low thick branch prevented me from exiting to the left traffic pattern. They really should access the tree heights, and some of the obstacles (rock) placed very close to the roadway to prevent inadvertent damage. Overall a nice place to stay and we’ll be back.
