While this is a dry camping campground, there is a full service dump station which makes it easy to stay here. The fee is due to having the annual pass. There is a lot of "mess" left over from a forest fire, but don't let that mire the view. Overall, it is great. Lots of good trails within the park. Be sure to go on the one to the campfire. No cell service or wi-fi in the visitors center. The towns of Newhalem and Diablo are company towns housing the workers for the dams and power plant. There is one general store in Newhalem. Definitely spend time exploring the Diablo Lake area. We had about 15 hours of steady rain which made all the waterfalls bigger and the river rushing more. There are waterfalls everywhere.

County and city parks can be some of the best accommodations. This place is no exception. Actually, it is exceptional! The young lady at the check-in desk is a great face for the park. Very friendly and full of local suggestions. You are given an security card for the gate to the RV side of the park. The sites are asphalt surrounded by grass. Nightly sprinklers go off in the dead of night and in our case, hit the trailer. Don't leave anything out you do not want to get wet. There is a dump station if you do not have a full hookup site.

Agave Azul Mexican is excellent and there is a 15% off the bill coupon in the brochure provided at check-in.

The campground is between Route 2 and an active train track. You will hear both of these most of the time. Never interfered with our sleep.

Leavenworth is about 30 minutes away. Cute Bavarian style town designed to separate you from your money! Lots of restaurants, bars/brew pubs, and stores. We did to into the Nutcracker Museum which was interesting.

What a great campground and the staff the run it! That should be enough, but I will elaborate. First of all, if you are coming in from the west on Rt 2, Google Maps will tell you to go past the entrance and make a u-turn. Technically, yes, per the lines on the road. But you can turn left into the driveway without the u-turn.

The drive around the campsites is gravel. The grounds are very well kept. The sites are all grass and no rugs are allowed. The water pressure is great. The spigots already have pressure regulators screwed on. The power pedestal, water spigot, and sewer opening are all grouped together towards the middle to front of where your trailer will sit. If your sewer hose is not long enough, you will only be able to back into the site so far. That was us. The wi-fi was strong. There is a great playground including a 3 goal disc golf course, a communal firepit, and a nice pool.

A small grocery store is just up the street. For bigger stores and services, Columbia Falls is a 15 minute drive away.

My only complaint was our neighbors for 3 nights. They would return at 10:30pm-ish and were loud well after 11:30pm and one night midnight. No one from the park management is patrolling to ensure the 10:00pm quiet time start is enforced.

First, our rate is the senior, lifetime discount. Even without, it is a bargain! Pull-thru site on a slight slant. Easy to level. As the campground is built on a hill, our higher sight had great views of the mountains and valleys all around. The roads are in need of patching. Sites are large so no crowded feeling. The dump station is on a slant to be sure to approach it from the lower side. The Hi-View trail is great and can be accessed just above site 20 by using the West trail approach. They eventually cross. Go counter-clockwise so the ascent if more gradual. Definitely explore Park Boulevard into the northern section of the park. So much to see. We also went to Palm Springs for a day following a self guided driving tour of mid-century architecture homes and buildings.

First, there is no dump station at this park despite it being listed in the amenities section. Have notified Campendium to correct. Full hookup sites are available. We arrived with full tanks and needed to dump prior to going to our E&W only site. Ranger said they do not have one. The county park up the road a bit will let you dump for $10. It is up a very steep hill and located towards the back of the campground.

Overall, it is a very nice park. A little tight, but there is a large amount of well trimmed vegetation including large rhododendron bushes between sites. Will be beautiful when they bloom. Our site had quite a slant to it so we could not stay hooked up for the night. Most of the sites are short. Would have had trouble putting our 26 footer on most of them.

Fire wood is available for purchase. There is an decent interpretive center. There are yurts to rent! No T-Mobile service.

How can you beat a pull-thru site with full hookups for $28 a night in the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Area?!?! You can't! Easy off/on I-84 right in the waterfall corridor. Be sure to validate the need for a corridor pass during your stay. It's just $2 on recreation.gov. The campground is built on a fairly steep hill. The A section sites are tiered. The B section is flat and are a mix of curved pull-thrus and back-ins. While there are 2 hosts sites, no one was there. The ranger came around every once in a while. Firewood is available for sale. There is a dump station immediate to the right when entering the A section. It's heavily wooded. You will hear freeway and train noise 24/7, but nothing that kept us awake at night.

Not far off the interstate. Great for overnight. U shaped driveway with grass and tree park inside the U. Just pick a spot along the fence and relax. Tents are welcome in designated areas, but be sure to read the lawn watering signs.

There is a restroom building although I did not check it out. There is a basic dump station and potable water. There is a bit of road noise, but nothing that kept us awake.

Used this hidden gem as an overnight stop. It is in the county of Madison where the covered bridges are located. It is also John Wayne's birthplace and there is the obligatory museum. The park is lovely - generously spaced out sites, full hookups, trees or meadow. Appears to be some long term folks. All very friendly. Next to the actual city park. Definitely take a stroll around the grounds - many chainsaw statues, playground, 1 covered bridge, many walking paths. If your GPS take you to that park, the campground entrance is a couple blocks away to the east. There is no check-in. If you have a reservation, there will be a slip on your site post.

This is one campground in one area that we hated to pull out of our site. We were lucky to snag one of the electric only sites. Our rate is using our senior pass. It's half off the campsite and full price on the utility.

The campground is quite large and well laid out. In any private campground, there would have been another site in-between each of these sites. If you cannot get an electric only site and have solar, go for Loop A. Plus that loop has killer views of the Tetons.

The check-in process was painless. Due to septic issues, one of the two dump stations is closed. You have to get on the dump station list for when you want to use it. There are only 47 slots each day. The potable water is a spigot beyond the 2nd dump station. There is firewood and kindling for sale. Credit/debit only. It is permissible to scrounge any dead wood laying on the ground.

If you have plans to go to Jenny Lake for any activity, go as early as you possibly can. The parking lot fills up quick and spills out onto the road. That equates to a lot of people at the visitors center and on the trails.

The National Museum of Wildlife sculpture garden is a nice take-in. The food and ice cream at Jackson Drug is so good! Hand Fire Pizza is excellent. If you see cars pulled over to the side of the road with people bunched together, do the same! There is some wildlife worth viewing! Check out river float with Dave Hansen Whitewater & Scenic River Tours.

We liked this campground however it was not at full capacity. Check-in was easy. We had a back-in site with no one on either side of us. If we had, it would have felt very tight. You have to pull your vehicle in beside your trailer so not much "patio" space. Overall, it is laid out well. There are wide streets which help with maneuvering. Our site did have a slight slant towards the street. Easy to level. Careful with the water hookup. The valve when turned all the way to the right was not closed. It went past close to open again. Close was half way between full right and full left. The wi-fi was unreliable. It might be 5 bars, then drop to 1. It might connect and it might not. Our hotspot was better. The bathrooms, laundry room, and pool were all clean. Walmart across the street. It is next to a casino with a bowling alley and Dunkin Donuts! If your site is against two of the four walls, there will be street noise, but nothing excessive.
