I wish more cities offered free camping for overnighters.

Nice little boondock city park. 2 day stay limit. Some road noise but not to bad at night.
Two great museums in Douglas. Towards downtown is the Douglas Railroad Interpretive Center which focuses on the impact of railroads to Douglas. Some classic mid 20th century rail cars. Check out the dining car. Pretty spunky.
And just to the west is the Pioneer Memorial Museum. Most interesting to me was the Bugle recovered from the 7th Calvary soldier at the Little Big Horn during one of the many recovery operations over the years.
Verizon 3 bars inside the Airstream without booster. 10.37/2.63 Mbps down/up.

We stayed here on 8/10/16 while making the drive from Fort Collins, CO to Devil's Tower in Wyoming. This was about half way in between for us. It's basically a gravel loop wide enough for RV and car parking on both sides. There is a free dump station near the entrance as well as water to fill up your RV.
There were 2 other RVs and 3 cars that parked there overnight. It's nice and quiet, although it is near the main road through town. The Wyoming State Fair is held across the street, so it would be wise to check the schedule before trying to stay there, I would imagine it would be a popular option during the fair.
We had 4 bars with AT&T and Verizon using a booster.

We stayed here traveling from Grand Junction, CO to Devils Tower and it was perfect, especially for our first boondocking experience! Easy access from the highway, wide gravel lot easy to pull-through into a number of open spaces. We were the only ones in the park, so it was quiet- spot was mostly level and easy to park. Nice grassy area to walk our dog and a riverfront trail just across the bridge over the river where we were able to walk a few miles in the morning. Park had dumpsters, restrooms, and an RV dump. Would definitely stay here again!

This is a great spot. Bathroom is great. River on the side of the park. Noise wasn't bad at all. Cement tables and grills all over. Water and dump for RVs.

Wanted to camp here as it was easy access and a beautiful park. Big sing when we arrived "Due to drought NO tents on the grass because of sprinklers"
Kinda hard to pitch a tent on pavement or packed gravel.
Great place if you have an RV though.

Pulled in, saw it was mostly empty, had good level parking space, RV dump and fresh water available. Awesome already. Then we discovered the bathrooms with awesome woodwork and showers.
Folks seem to roll in in the evening and it in the morning, but there was no point when there wasn't room for more. Also has dumpsters.

We had such a great experience here! Super clean and well kept. Picnic tables, grills and trees line the common area. The kids loved it. Cute town too! We stopped here while traveling from Thermopolis to Boulder. Not far off the highway at all. There is a dump station and it is well patrolled by the area Police. Very quiet other than the train that rolled through. It didn't bother us though. This place is better than some places we have paid to camp!

This park is directly off the road but also on the rushing Platte River. We unfortunately arrived on a Tuesday, which is one of the many days they run the sprinkler. There were a few RVs unaffected, but we were more comfortable in a tent so we waited into the wee hours of the morning for the sprinklers to finish and then we pitched our tent right up against the bridge retaining wall.
The bathroom had a flush toilet and a SHOWER. We were ecstatic to stay for free and get a shower. We used the grill and picnic table and camped on the lush grass. A great spot, if you arrive on Monday or Wednesday. :)

Surprisingly, after quite some time on the road full-time, this was the location of our first boondocking experience. This was so far from roughing it, INMO. We have a 38' FW and there was absolutely no issue maneuvering around (and we arrived at night). The parking lot (the area you will be parking in) is in a U shape and can be pulled into from either end, although you would want to turn into the first entrance if you want to use the dump and water fillup station. You park along the perimeter of the lot along the fence. There are some low branches on some of the trees which prevented our 12' 6" rig from parking along certain spots.
The road noise died down around 11pm and perked back up at about 6:30am. We were able to sleep with our windows open and a little white noise.
The men's and women's bathrooms are near the dump station and nice for free. We were here in early September and there were four other campers sharing this location with lots of space between.
