This is a fine small state campground with typically roomy sites. All utilities worked fine. We were able to stream HD video over our Verizon hotspot. The toilet/shower buildings are old and could have been kept in better condition. The campground and surrounding areas are pretty stark as is typical for eastern New Mexico. There are no mountain vista views to be had near here.

There is a small lake/sinkhole adjacent to the campground that is set up for day use. I suspect that in the summer the day use area is hopping. When we were here (early April) hardly anyone used it, even on the weekend.

We did note a number of little "no-see-um type" of bugs, probably due to the proximity of the water.

The campground is about a 20 minute drive from Roswell, NM which has a couple of good food stores for stocking up including a pretty good Albertsons. There is not a lot "going on" in Roswell. Try the Cowboy Cafe for an honest small town diner breakfast (it was actually quite good.) The claim to fame in these parts is the "Roswell Incident" of UFO fame which occurred in 1946. There is a "UFO Museum and Research Center" in downtown Roswell which you might as well visit since that's probably why you would come to this area (the other being to visit a relative.) Other than that, bring a book or two.

The campground is convenient to the major east/west road (NM 380) and as such makes a good overnight stopping place.

My four star rating is based on a delightful and quiet overnight stay. There is zero charm to this facility. It’s strictly utilitarian but inexpensive, quiet (no Highway or train noise) and is exactly what one wants when traveling east or west on I-10 through this part of New Mexico. T-Mobile and Verizon were very fast and more than sufficient to stream HD video. The sites are typical sized for a commercial campground and long enough for our 65 foot long rig/toad to stay hooked up for the night. The utilities worked as expected.

If you are looking for a longer term stay in the area, want more ambiance and can live without hookups, checkout the three nearby NM State parks. But if you want hookups or just a quick overnight (10/15 minutes from the interstate) this is your place.

This is a nicely shaded private campground with slightly larger than average sites. Sites are mostly unlevel and we had to use our boards. This place has the "feel" of a state park.

The staff was friendly and gave us a choice of several sites upon arrival.

Due tree cover, satellite TV is all but impossible here. Some sites have cable TV available for an additional $2.00 per day. Over the air TV was good and all three major networks are available in HD as well as PBS and some of the other networks.

Satellite radio (our newest toy) worked perfectly despite the tree cover.

In general, the Texas Panhandle is not known for it's scenic beauty. An important exception, however, is Palo Duro Canyon. We had heard this place referred to as the "Grand Canyon of Texas" and we were initially skeptical but decided to give the place a try. And are we glad we did!

The State Park is located about 15 miles south of I-40 near Amarillo, Texas and provides a delightful multi-day stopover on any cross-country trip along the I-40 corridor (which happens to also be the general route of the old "Historic Route 66.")

This State Park is a mecca for hikers, mountain bicyclists, birders, equestrians and photographers. The scenery is absolutely spectacular and while not as grand as the "real" Grand Canyon, this place surely deserves a visit. There are dozens of trails offering all levels of difficulty.

There are four different RV campgrounds in this state park offering water/electric sites (with dump stations nearby) and one "tent" campground that is suitable for smaller RV's and which does not offer any hook ups. Sites cannot be reserved individually, when reserving online you pick a campground and your dates, and you are assigned a specific site upon arrival. The check in rangers were very helpful in finding us an available site that met our preferences to be on the outside of a loop with shade.

The sites themselves are well spaced, level, offer good amounts of privacy and are easy to get into. There are some pull through sites and while not every site will accommodate the biggest rigs, there are sites for every size rig and when assigning sites, the rangers try to match your rig to the site and keep the bigger sites for the bigger rigs.

Aside from the wonderful hiking and bicycling in the park itself, don't miss the Panhandle Prairie Historical Museum in nearby Canyon, Texas. The quality of this incredible museum is worthy of a city with a million residents (even though Canyon only has 13,000 residents) and is associated with West Texas A&M University (also in Canyon.)

There is decent food shopping in Canyon which is about 10 miles from the park entrance and Amarillo (25 miles away) is a city of 200,000 residents with all the usual shopping available in American mid-sized cities. Amarillo is the beef capital of America, so if you want a good steak, you will find it in Amarillo.

Two things to consider before you visit:
(1) the campgrounds are all at the bottom of the 900 foot deep canyon and there is a 2 mile section of road with a 10 percent grade and several switchbacks to get to the bottom of the canyon. It's all doable if you take your time and have an adequate tow vehicle or appropriately powered motor-home.
(2) there is NO, I repeat NO internet and NO cell service whatsoever in the campground or the canyon. We had to go outside the park and sit on the side of the road every other day to get internet signal.

This is a very nice RV park with big sites, friendly and helpful owners and in a good location for an overnight stop. I would have given it four stars but for the trains that passed by every half hour or so often blaring their horns due to a nearby track crossing. The tracks are directly across the road from the RV park. If train noises bother you, consider a different place.

The T-Mobile internet was non-existent. But Verizon was top notch and more than sufficient to stream HD video.

We’ve been stopping here for years on an overnight basis during our annual snowbird migration. This time we decided to extend our stay to nearly two weeks and explore the area. This RV Park has a variety of pricing for its sites based on someone’s opinion of their relative quality. In my opinion there are too many “quality tiers” but they do provide some insight into the relative quality of the various sites. Use this when you make your reservations. Since the pricing difference is fairly small, we chose a Premium Mountain View site (#303.) While calling it a “Mountain View” site is a bit of a stretch, we did enjoy the oversized site and the fact that we didn’t have anyone on our “camp side.” This made for a very pleasant stay. In general the sites here are larger than typical for a commercial campground. Many sites have trees for partial or complete shade. While the pads are gravel (and surprisingly level) there is grass in most other areas so that unlike so many RV parks in the desert SW, you don’t feel like you are camping in the middle of a gravel construction site. The CG is about 35 minutes away from Sedona and half that time to Cottonwood so it makes a good base from which to explore both of those resort oriented areas. The day hiking in Sedona is without equal anywhere else in North America and that alone justifies a visit to this area. We never use CG WiFi so I can’t comment on that. T-Mobile was non existent and Verizon was inconsistent but we were able to stream Netflix each evening.

There is very minor freeway noise from I-17. Most times you couldn’t hear the Highway, but when the wind shifted from the south there was some noise but not enough to be bothersome.

The staff were very helpful both when we were making our reservations and upon arrival.

We highly recommend this campground and will be back!

A nice small and well run private campground near Crater Lake with 19 RV sites a few cabins. The sites are small (typical for a private campground) but there is a lot of "common area" in the campground so you don't have that cramped feeling that is so common in private campgrounds. There are 6 electric only sites along the main road. At this time of the year (October) the road was not very busy so this was not an issue. In any event, what traffic there is is essentially auto traffic (no trucks) so even the sites along the road are peaceful. The real gems are the 13 full hook up sites that back up to Fox Creek. If you have a rear seating area in your RV, you will definitely appreciate the view. There is a nicely stocked camp store on site which is a good thing because this area is remote and there are not a lot of good food shopping alternatives nearby.

A special note: The wifi at this campground was among the best and most reliable we have encountered. Which is a good thing because cellular data was marginal.

Note, despite the listing on Campendium indicating that they have 50 or so sites, this CG only has 19 RV sites.

This is a pleasant private RV park near Albany, NY. The sites are mostly shaded but there are some sunny spots. All sites have water & electric, there are a limited number of sewer sites but management offers a twice-a-week pump out service for a small fee so the lack of sewer hookups is not a bit deal (I suspect that since the pump out equipment is stored on site, one could get an "emergency" pump out any day of the week.)

All the utilities worked well, wifi was spotty at our location which is pretty far from the office, but Verizon reception is excellent. The sites are reasonably sized by private RV park standards.

About 1/4 of the sites appear to be seasonal campers, but these are weekend "cottages" and snowbirds roosting for the summer, and not permanent residents. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming.

There is no clubhouse or pool. The campground is directly on the Mohawk River and does offer docks and a concrete boat launch. This would be a great campground for someone with a small boat who wanted to use this a a launching point for some fishing expeditions on the river.

There are a limited number of campgrounds near the New York Capital District and this is a very good choice for anyone visiting the area. We have family in the area and this is our "go to campground" when visiting.

There are two "dings" in the noise department. First, there is a bridge with a fair amount of daytime traffic nearby (virtually silent at night) and there is a major rail line about a mile away with intermittent train traffic all day and night long. Some people might find the sound of the trains and whistles to be "quaint" and soothing (we do) but be on notice that this issue exists.

The park was clean and we would stay here again.

We were here as part of an Airstream caravan exploring the Cajun Country and this was our base of operation for several days.

The sites are generally gravel surrounded by grass. Many sites have a concrete pad for the table and sitting. All sites are three way and there are some 50 amp sites. There is good spacing between most sites. There are trees all over so there will be shade in the summer but also challenges for the satellite TV dish. The setting is very pretty.

The owners/operators are very friendly and accommodating.

Verizon signs was very good and we were able to stream Hd video.

The campground is about a mile south of I-10 so if the wind is right, there can be a little bit of noise but it’s not that oppressive highway noise you would hear if the CG was adjacent to the freeway.

This is an excellent place for an overnight while traveling on I-10.

This is an older private campground that still needs a lot of investment to bring up to par. To his credit, it looks like the current owner (who is very friendly) is making some improvements but he has a way to go. Sites are slightly wider than typical for a private campground and there is some screening between many of the sites which is nice.

Our site was not level which we find unusual for a private campground. Most site appear to be W/E only but there is a dump station on site.

The mountain views are very nice and there is a small river that runs along the property.

The Big Ding? I-70 is right on top of you and th noise is incessant. Unfortunately, there are a limit d number of choices nearby that are appropriate for a one night stop while passing through and this one fits the bill. If we were staying in the area for more than the one night, we would definitely look elsewhere.

We had decent Verizon internet and were able to stream HD video.
