Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on October 20, 2018Plus - friendly, courteous and efficient management. It is a quiet RV park with fireflies. As noted in the description of the RV park, there are nearby services. Minuses, the leechfield restrictions mean no grassy place for kids to play, the lake is off limits to swimming and WIFI service is almost non-existent due to 10mb access.
This is a pleasant private RV park near Albany, NY. The sites are mostly shaded but there are some sunny spots. All sites have water & electric, there are a limited number of sewer sites but management offers a twice-a-week pump out service for a small fee so the lack of sewer hookups is not a bit deal (I suspect that since the pump out equipment is stored on site, one could get an "emergency" pump out any day of the week.)
All the utilities worked well, wifi was spotty at our location which is pretty far from the office, but Verizon reception is excellent. The sites are reasonably sized by private RV park standards.
About 1/4 of the sites appear to be seasonal campers, but these are weekend "cottages" and snowbirds roosting for the summer, and not permanent residents. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming.
There is no clubhouse or pool. The campground is directly on the Mohawk River and does offer docks and a concrete boat launch. This would be a great campground for someone with a small boat who wanted to use this a a launching point for some fishing expeditions on the river.
There are a limited number of campgrounds near the New York Capital District and this is a very good choice for anyone visiting the area. We have family in the area and this is our "go to campground" when visiting.
There are two "dings" in the noise department. First, there is a bridge with a fair amount of daytime traffic nearby (virtually silent at night) and there is a major rail line about a mile away with intermittent train traffic all day and night long. Some people might find the sound of the trains and whistles to be "quaint" and soothing (we do) but be on notice that this issue exists.
The park was clean and we would stay here again.

Rate is for a weekly stay. This was a very nice campground, mostly wooded with a rustic feel. The full hook-up section we were in was arranged as a circle with the RVs facing outward from the center like spokes. This gave us a pretty good-sized camping area where you're not looking directly at your neighbor's rig. Our front window looked out over the river which was very nice. Hookups were oddly placed, with our sewer connection located under the tail of the rig, and water and power were behind us on the passenger side, requiring our full power cord and an extra hose. Everything worked great once hooked up. The river is scenic and we watched boats going by all day long (some quietly, some loudly). The train and its whistle are ever-present, close enough that you always notice it, but far enough that it isn't too annoying. The WiFi never worked for us, but Verizon and AT&T did. The staff/owners were friendly and helpful and live on-site. There were plenty of places to walk our dog inside the campground and down the nearby road.

Average park made worse by the terrible customer service. We knew about the early check-in fee they claim to charge, and have encountered parks that make the same claim but do not enforce it and allow you to check-in early without fanging you with the fee. It just worked out we got here 2 hours early for the 2:00 check-in time and noticed a large RV storage area at the beginning of the driveway that had ample open space. The dry, humorless clerk lady refused to allow us to check-in early without the fee, refused to allow me to park the rig in the storage area while we Jeeped into town for lunch, and had no recommendation for a nearby parking area large enough for the bus while we wasted the 2 hours until we would be allowed to check-in. Even though the price was right I will never return solely based on the staff attitude and lack of concern for their customers. But the park is interior gravel roads winding through the trees, sites gravel and level, and the park is right on the Mohawk River. The sites tend to become a muddy, swampy, mess after a good rain and the grass areas become mushy. The bath/showers are a trailer unit parked near the trailer/office and they were adequate. Trees too thick for satellite reception. The cable listing they provide has got to be the most confusing list I have ever seen, listing several cable companies and channel numbers. The road into the park is terrible, the turn at the railroad tracks is rough and watch for low branches. The trains run several times day and night.

This park is a good location to Schenectady and right on the Mohawk river. The park is quiet and clean and lush. The sites are pretty close together and the one we had was particularly un-level to the point of being 1 of the most un-level sites we've experienced in our 2 yrs of full timing. This was really the only negative for the park but it was a pretty significant negative and bothered me enough to knock a star off just for that.
The staff was very friendly. The owner's son checked us in and he was really nice so I don't know about the previous reviews indicating bad customer service but we did not experience that.
Park is easy to navigate with good roads in and out. Big rig friendly and good location to the hwy. Sites are gravel. Drainage was good after rains. The internet. OMG the internet was phenomenal. Free wifi that was over 100mb d/l the entire 2 week stay even with a fairly full park. No cable (they should remove that from their website) but OTA channels were good signal and all the channels you'd need. Because their internet was so great, I didn't use the hotspots but I did test them and both Verizon and ATT had good speeds (over 10mb) w/out booster.
We had a 50 amp FHU and it there were no issues with that. Lots of walking opportunities and there's a great paved bike trail right by the railroad tracks where you turn to enter the park. It goes for miles.
Used Cunningham's laundromat in Scotia and it was great. Very clean and fair priced with lots of large machines.

This place was beautiful! There is a marina on the lake next to it. We came as the leaves were changing in the fall. The trees were glorious. I found management easy to deal with and professional. The other people staying there were also nice. I loved it. I wish we could have stayed longer! Also, and surprisingly, their WiFi was awesome!!! It is a tricky turn over some RR tracks to get there, but we did it with our 22 foot truck and 38 foot trailer.

A nice smaller park along the banks of the Mohawk River. This is a seasonal park that is open 5/15 - 10/15. We stayed here for 3 weeks & paid the weekly rate which comes out to 7 nights for the price of 6. There are numerous trees providing ample shade & sites are rock/gravel. We had a back-in site which was more than adequate other than it was not level. I honestly thought our 45ft DP would require an extension ladder to get in/out of!! LOL! Full hook-ups with no issues & adequate space between sites.
The park is more than happy to accept mail/packages for you. Depending on the provider they may even deliver straight to your site! The park also allows you to place outgoing USPS items into their box.
Sadly, in addition to not having an online reservation system they only accept cash or check. When you make a reservation you will be required to submit a check for a deposit with the balance due upon check-in.
If you are traveling with younger kids/grandkids then this is probably not your place as there are no amenities, ie. pool, playground equipment, etc. If you are looking for a nice quiet place without the sound of screaming/playing kids then you will LOVE it here!! You may hear sounds of watercraft from the river but minimal highway noise. However, there are numerous trains that come thru the area.
We would certainly come back!
