“Home to tons of wildlife and much to do!”
The unique lakes at this park are sinkholes, ranging from 17 to 90 feet deep. This amazing place provides a range of activities including swimming, fishing, camping, wildlife viewing and birding.
There are A LOT of mosquitoes here, which makes it a very unpleasant camping situation. The big lake is a fun place to swim and relax during the day though. They have paddle boat and paddle board rentals. It's a popular spot for families.
Took a quick swim here on my way north. Picnic tables, swing set and a beautiful blue late in the middle of a desert wetlands. Informative, peaceful and beautiful. Hit it up!
Beautiful oasis to camp at in the middle of the desert. Clean bathrooms and showers. Covered picnic tables at the campsites was very nice. There is a large covered area around the lake with plenty of tables. The lake was was great to swim in. Plan on visiting again when I can.
Nice place! Beautiful drive to get to it. Little oasis in the middle of nowhere. But not too far from Roswell! Lots of flies however but could also be due to the recent rain. Also lots of stickers in the grass at the campsites so have your kids wear shoes at all times. The lake had paddle boats to rent for $10/hr and paddle boards for $5/hr. RV site with full hookups cost us about $18/night!!
Best thing to do in and around Roswell, NM. We loved it. The park is clean. Its $5 to get in. There is plenty of trails and wildlife. The main Lea Lake is beautiful. Its blue, its cold, but you will fall in love.
Nice camping area, but no showers are open during the off seasons.
