The campsites are fairly close together and offer no privacy. This is typical for nearly all KOAs and private campgrounds so if this turns you off, keep on driving.

However, this CG offers excellent access to all of the city and even has a light rail station right in front of the campground. While this location is in an urban location and close to rail lines, the airport and highway, these sounds all blended into a typical urban white noise. The normal flight path of jets at the airport do not take them anywhere near the campground, the highway is far enough that you don’t hear it and the trains are far enough away to be in the background.

The CG is located in a light industrial section of town but we felt quite safe.

Most of the sites are sufficiently angled that despite being on top of each other, you do have some sense of separation. There are trees throughout the site which would be very welcome on hot sunny days. However, those same trees can block satellite TV, but there are excellent over the air channels and the campground has decent cable TV so you shljldn’t miss your satellite.

This park has AMAZING free WiFi. We clocked speeds of 60MB down and 30 to 40 up on the CG WiFi network! Even when th CG was full, we got close to those speeds. Also, Verizon had blazing fast speeds. Did not try AT&T or any other carrier, but being in an urban area these should have been fine as well.

The staff are friendly, all the utilities worked properly. Most of the sites are pull through and can accommodate the largest rigs.

We usually stop here a couple times a year as we make the east/west transition. At $20/night for a full hookup site the price can’t be beat! If you can live with W/E only, there are sites for $15.

Close to I-40 for on and off purposes, but far enough that the highway noise isn’t a bother. Sites are great and well sized. Most are pull through.

Excellent Verizon and T-Mobile coverage. First come first served sites only. So be careful on weekends and arrive in the early afternoon. Have a backup plan in case you are traveling on weekends or holidays.

There is nothing special about this particular campground except that it is an excellent place to stop when traveling on the I-40 corridor through Oklahoma. About half the sites offer water/electric hookups (@ $15 night) and the other half offer full hookups for $20/night.

This city campground is fairly quiet (about one mile north of I-40,) the sites are level, easy to get into, and reasonably sized. The town has a Walmart and a laundromat near the CG so you can take care of those needs as well.

We had excellent TV reception (Oklahoma City is about 25 miles east) and excellent Verizon service which allowed us to stream HD video.

We stopped here for one night on a cross country trip. The facilities are excellent. The sites are large, nicely landscaped and everything works. Check in was east and the staff were helpful. Since this was during the Covid pandemic we were restricted to our site and did not check out any of the amenities or the adjacent casino.

Verizon internet was excellent as was the campground WiFi (until about 5 PM when the campground WiFi slowed down.)

There is some highway noise which is typical for overnight stops within a few miles of the freeway in this part of the country. Fortunately, there are no trains nearby! The Highway noise was affected by the wind direction and was just short of being annoying during our stay.

A predicted winter storm (which in this part of AZ means high winds and possibly rains) had us move closer to Tucson a few days earlier than planned and we needed a place to hang our hat over the weekend. What we found was yet another very nice and quiet SKP Park full of incredibly friendly folks. This is apparently the oldest SKP coop park so the sites are pretty small by modern standards. For some reason the residents have not done much to landscape their sites over the years so there is no privacy, no shade and no “cute factor” to any of the sites. We stayed in the boondocking section which costs about $5 for the first night with the second night free! That’s not a lot to pay for a safe and level site. The park is very clean and well maintained. There are no amenities such as a pool but there is a clubhouse where there is something going on almost every day. It is possible to rent one of the full service sites based on availability when the owner of the site is not in the park. Verizon Internet was very fast.

Beware upon entering the park there is an extremely sharp right turn (almost a U-turn) so I would recommend unhooking any TOAD before entering the park. Fortunately, there is a perfect spot on the left side of the road shortly after you exit I-8. The road in front of the campground is not very busy making access to this unhooking area very easy.

We were here as part of an Airstream Caravan touring Louisiana’s Cajun Country and this was one of our many stops.

The campground is behind a country fair facility. There were no activities on the fairgrounds while we were here. The fair’s exhibition space is directly adjacent to the campground and if there was a noisy event going on it would be impossible to miss while camping here. But when there is no fair event underway, the campground is very quiet as the lightly travelled road is about 1/4 mile away. There is a general aviation airport (i.e., no scheduled commercial flights) nearby and there were occasional small planes taking off and landing but this was very infrequent (a few times per day on average.). There is a train track about a mile away with a grade crossing and we did hear train horns periodically during the day (but not at night.). The trains were far enough away so as not to be a problem.

The campgrounditself resembles a good quality private RV park. Spacing is good for a private RV park. There are no trees in the camping area and the sites are not separated by any vegetation. However, the orientation of the sites does provide for a decent amount of separation and we didn’t feel like sardines. All sites have a concrete pad for the RV, a picnic table and a grassy area. All sites have three way hook ups. There is a laundry room on site for use by guests. There are showers and toilets although we did not check them out. There is a pool and water park oriented primarily towards young children. I suspect that this place is hopping with families in the summer. We were here in mid-March and all was quiet. Other than the members of our group, there were never more than half a dozen other rigs in the campground (remember, we were here in mid-March.)

Verizon works very well.

THe location is central to many of the areas attractions that are south of I-10 and is reasonably close to the city of Lafayette. A Walmart and most of their shopping is within three or four miles of the campground.

Overall, this is a good place to use as a base for explorthe no the area.

We stopped here on a cross country overnight and enjoyed not listening to trucks and highway noise all night long as is so common in RV parks in this part of the country (the I-40 corridor.) The nearby airport has so few flights that it’s not an issue. There are some train tracks in the area and plenty of trains roll by all day and night but it was just far enough that the noise didn’t keep us up at night. The staff were very friendly and cooperative. Check in was quick and safe even in these COVID times. The campground WiFi was quite fast until about 5 PM when everyone must have started to watch Netflix. Verizon data service was fast enough to stream HD video. The sites are typically small for a commercial campground but were easy to get into.

The four star rating is based on the suitability of this campground for a peaceful overnight while traveling through Amarillo which is otherwise notorious for having very poor RV park choices.

The facilities were typical for a KOA and being "out west" means there is no grass and your site is gravel. The sites are typical size for a private campground and you will not have any privacy from your neighbors. There is no screening between sites. This campground is 100% utilitarian and serves well as an overnight stop when traveling through the area. Don't expect any charm here.

There are a lot of trees on the property which provides a nice break from the sun. The number of trees in some spots can cause issues if you are trying to set up your satellite dish. Accordingly, we took a site along the main road to get an uninterrupted view of the southern sky. I was concerned that we would hear road noise but Highway 50 is known as the Loneliest Road in America with good reason! There was very little traffic and whatever there was very quiet. Accordingly, I would say that this was one of the quietest KOAs we've ever used.

We did not try the park's wifi but found Verison internet to be marginal, good enough for email and light web surfing but not good enough to stream video.

I’m not sure why others have given this place such glowing reviews (in terms of stars) suitable for some of the nicer National Parks! This is a gravel parking lot behind a Shell station. The facilities are a “two star” at best but I gave it three because the owner is so nice and accommodating.

The sites are very narrow and can be hard to back into. Most sites appear to be occupied by long term residents who work in the nearby oil and gas fields. Kudos to the owner in her tenant selection however as the place was quiet and unusually tidy given the nature of the long term tenants.

The park is close to I-10 so it makes for an easy on and off for an overnight stay but far enough from the interstate that we were not bothered by any excessive road noise. There are parking lots in the area for overnight truck parking so there was some noise from those activities. Since this was February, it was a closed window night. I’m not sure how pleasant this would have been had we wanted the windows open at night.

The utilities worked fine and we had very fast Verizon internet capable of streaming HD video.

This is basically like camping in a Walmart parking lot with hookups. If you go in with those expectations you will not be disappointed. We would definitely stay here again for a one night overnight while traveling on I-10.

This is a pretty good Fairgrounds facility. All sites are three way (W/E/S) fairly level but fairly close together. This is basically a large gravelled area. Be aware that the placement of the sewer hookups was not designed by anyone with any RV experience as they are way at the back of each site and even with our standard sewer hose plus a 15 foot extension we found that many sites would not work for us. Through trial and error we did find a site that worked so be persistent!

The area is quiet (so long as there isn’t a noisy special event in process) and as such makes a great overnight spot when traveling on I-80. The other choice in town (the KOA) is right on the Interstate. The facility is about two or three miles off a freeway exit so using this for an overnighted is a breeze.

Verizon was fast enough to stream video.

The staff in the office and the maintenance folks were very friendly and accomodating. The campground “caretaker” was less so and was either having a bad day or needs to be reminded that his purpose in being here is to be helpful. Simply offerIng us to move (after we were all set up) or refund our money is not a helpful response to someone looking for a site with working water and an accessible sewer hookup. But his demeanor is not a reason to skip this place and chances are you won’t ever see or have to deal with him.
