Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on April 04, 2019Good location. Very nice pool. This campground is not as nice as it appears. We asked if we could show up a couple hours early. Hard NO. No reason given. Then when we arrived we found that the place was nearly deserted. It feels like a parking lot. No shade. The sites are gravel and when it rains it is a big mess. They dont have enough level ground around the rv to put out your chairs or enjoy the outdoors. I have stayed here only a couple times. I booked so that i could entertain my grandson at the pool when i visited them. The pool , although it was really nice and had a lot of fun features, was not open to the rv campers during the first part of the day of my stay because it was being used by a local group for exercise class. Disappointed grandson. Not clearly stated when you checked in. The pool cafe was also not open at the time. They also seemed to allow local teens to come in in the evening and “party” at the covered area. They left a mess and it was not cleaned up the next day.
We were here as part of an Airstream Caravan touring Louisiana’s Cajun Country and this was one of our many stops.
The campground is behind a country fair facility. There were no activities on the fairgrounds while we were here. The fair’s exhibition space is directly adjacent to the campground and if there was a noisy event going on it would be impossible to miss while camping here. But when there is no fair event underway, the campground is very quiet as the lightly travelled road is about 1/4 mile away. There is a general aviation airport (i.e., no scheduled commercial flights) nearby and there were occasional small planes taking off and landing but this was very infrequent (a few times per day on average.). There is a train track about a mile away with a grade crossing and we did hear train horns periodically during the day (but not at night.). The trains were far enough away so as not to be a problem.
The campgrounditself resembles a good quality private RV park. Spacing is good for a private RV park. There are no trees in the camping area and the sites are not separated by any vegetation. However, the orientation of the sites does provide for a decent amount of separation and we didn’t feel like sardines. All sites have a concrete pad for the RV, a picnic table and a grassy area. All sites have three way hook ups. There is a laundry room on site for use by guests. There are showers and toilets although we did not check them out. There is a pool and water park oriented primarily towards young children. I suspect that this place is hopping with families in the summer. We were here in mid-March and all was quiet. Other than the members of our group, there were never more than half a dozen other rigs in the campground (remember, we were here in mid-March.)
Verizon works very well.
THe location is central to many of the areas attractions that are south of I-10 and is reasonably close to the city of Lafayette. A Walmart and most of their shopping is within three or four miles of the campground.
Overall, this is a good place to use as a base for explorthe no the area.

This is a large rv resort set up for efficiency. Rows of campsites with a small bit of grass that sloped away from the pad, so not very useful and offered no privacy or shade. Your view was other RVs and trailers. The pad and hook ups were fine, so for some the site quality would be excellent, but the lack of what I mentionned above for me is not worthy of a higher rating. Light pollution was okay. Each electrical pedstal had a light on it at night. Since it was low to the ground, it did not shine in your trailer.
We never did find the bathroom, but assume there might be something at the pool, which is not very centrally located. IT was not open. The laundry room was open and was clean.
Trains ran frequently from a nearby track and had to blow their horn for several miles through New Iberia.
The town of New Iberia was several miles away, so fairly convenient.
