After driving all day, we arrived at the campground just after sunset. The woman that greeted us checked my name off her reservations list and told us we were in site #57. I asked for a map and she told me to just take the next right and follow the road the the end. By now it was quite dark and there are no lights in the campground, as well as limited signage. We got to one point and there was a fork in the road. We took a chance, picked a side, and followed the road. Eventually we ended up at our assigned site. First off the road by the site was fairly narrow and lined with trees and shrubbery. Then it turns out that site #57 was quite short, with a drop off on both sides as well as the end. There was no way I could get my 21' trailer into that site. I swear it was set up for a tent. After multiple tries to back in I finally gave up and found an open site big enough for the trailer and claimed it (there were very few people there that night). I don't know how or why they assigned us site #57, but it was totally inappropriate for our relatively small trailer.

We stayed here only because the Bryce Canyon NP sites are first come/first served. We made the reservations at least 6 months in advance, but ended up with a horrible site. Basically, the trailer was at the top of a hill, with our tow vehicle on the downhill side. Neighbors we right outside our window, there was no room on our side to put out chairs or get comfortable. We looked over what was basically a parking lot for big rigs.

We found after talking to a camp host at the NP that if we got there before 10:00 am we would likely get a spot. We took his advice and on the third day we left Ruby's and found a very nice spot in the NP. Next time we will reserve a single night at Ruby's and then spend the rest of time in the NP. The difference is striking. Trees, quiet, roomy - peaceful.

Ruby's seems to own everything outside the park. The prices reflect this. Buy any groceries or necessities before getting to Bryce.

We stayed here for three nights as our base for visiting Big Bend. We drove in via Presidio, which if you have a small trailer (in our case a 17' Casita) is one of the most beautiful drives in the US. The office staff was most helpful, the facility was clean and well maintained, and the view was nice for being a commercial RV park.

Our site was roomy, with about 40 feet between us and our neighbor (on the curb side). We would have shared a utility post with our street side neighbors, had there been one.

There is a store with a gas pump in Lajitas, but it is expensive and only has regular. You are better off to drive to Terlingua.

While they advertise lights out at 11:00 pm, they still had lights on for the bathroom area, so it somewhat ruined the star viewing.

Verizon is only 3G, so it is OK for calling, but not great for data. And while we were located near the WiFi point, it was spotty at best. This is one area where they could really stand an upgrade.

This is a very nice facility. There are a couple of distinct areas depending on your needs. In the main area the sites are level concrete pads with grass between each site. However, there is a large green space between the sites and the river, perfect for letting the dog get some exercise or having a picnic. There is a wide, well lit walking path by the river with a nice view of Natchez.

There is a separate area for long term campers. Those sites a much smaller with no green space. Honestly I would not want to stay there. It looks far too crowded with no privacy.

When we stayed here there were only 5 or 6 trailers on the north side. It felt like we had the place to ourselves. BTW, the north side has more shade than the south side, so is a much better option in the summer. We will stay here again next time we are headed east.

This was our second time to stay here. Our first visit we stayed in the Deerfield Loop which is across the highway from the park HQ (the Hillside). The site was aptly named as deer wandered through the campground each morning and evening. Most of the sites were pull throughs with full hookups. There are a couple of washers and dryers by the bath house, though they are located outside which was kind of odd. However, it was nice to have them available.

Our latest stay was on the river side in the Pecan Loop. While this was a nice site, it was too close to the highway and had a lot of noise. In addition, our particular site had the sewer and water located very far apart. I had to use an extension on my sewer hose as well as one for my 30A power. Other sites were better in this regard.

On the Hillside there are some nice hiking trails. My only complaint is they are poorly marked so it was not always clear exactly which trail we were on. The trails are easily accessible with only a few places on the trails that presented any kind of challenge - mostly due to rocks. We encountered a couple of families with small children, so it appears to be family friendly.

We have already scheduled another stay here on our way back from West Texas. This is quickly becoming one of my go-to stopover sites.

We originally had reservations at the McPhee Recreation Area for our visit to the Mesa Verde area, but upon arrival found it to be less than satisfactory. Fortunately we had good cell service and I was able to get into Priest Gulch about 20 miles away. What a difference!

The camp hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome. It's the only place I have ever been where the host stuck around to help you back into your site. And while the sites were fairly close together (about 15 to 20 feet apart), the fact that we were literally backed up to the Delores River made it all worthwhile. It was so nice to sleep to the soothing sound of the river that it really didn't matter.

The owners will provide free firewood if you ask. They just don't want you to take it out of the park.

WiFi was fairly good, with few dropouts. There is a reasonably priced laundromat on the premises.

We stayed here as an overnight stop on our way back from Utah. We had reservations, but the site they assigned us had no trees, therefore no shade. In talking to someone that had been there for a while they suggested we just pick another site, which we did (there was no sign of the camp host). Site 20 was a pull through with shade and fairly level. There were warnings to not drink the water as it had high levels of nitrates.

There are several feedlots nearby and when the wind shifted we were forced inside to avoid the stench. There was also an abundance of flies at this park.

Pros: It was quiet. Clean bathrooms.

Cons: Feedlot smell. Cell phone coverage is minimal. The dump station was closed down and looked as if it had been for a while. Water not safe to drink. Lots of flies.

We stayed here at the suggestion of friends we were visiting in Birmingham. We had originally reserved a local RV park, but I am so glad we stayed here instead. We were in site A30 which is surrounded by trees. Though we had a somewhat close neighbor on one side, the other was all woods.

Our site was level from side to side, an only sloped down from back to front just a bit. Backing in was quite easy. The only complaint about our site is the site has a lot of poison ivy, so do be aware when walking around.

While we didn’t take advantage of everything there is to do here, there are a ton of choices - anything from archery to golf to horseback riding. Bike lanes run throughout the park, and there is a BMX track as well.

Next visit will definitely be longer than two nights. This park is a gem barely outside the city.

This was a wonderful find. The sites are very large, each with separate areas for parking a trailer and car, a picnic table, and a tent site. Lots of trees which provide privacy. Sites are about 75 to 100 feet apart so you aren’t really bothered by neighbors. There is an abundance of chipmunks and hummingbirds.

Ignore the reviews complaining about Verizon coverage. We had a couple of bars on our Verizon phones. Besides, isn’t the idea of camping to get off the grid and away from things?

While there are a couple of water spigots, they don’t have hose connections, so either fill your fresh water tank before arriving or be prepared to tote water.

The only negative about this campground is that it is right off the highway so you can expect a bit of road noise during the day. This is the only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars.

The price we paid included the Senior Pass discount

There are two levels of sites here - the full hookups by the golf course and the water/electric sites. It is obvious which ones get more attention. We stayed in a W/E site. Our 21' trailer barely fit the pull though site. The site was not level side to side and I had to be clear up on my Anderson levelers to make it work. Our site had no grass and was quite muddy after a recent rain.

Many, if not most, of the W/E sites had electricity on the drivers side and water on the passenger side. However, some of them had them both on the drivers side - either bad planning or bad execution when the sites were laid out. There were a couple of back in sites, and one pull through set up for two sites to share. The restroom was all the way down at one end of the campground and not centrally located, though it seemed to be in fairly good shape. All in all, it seems the non golf sites are an afterthought here.
