Confirmed by 4 users | Last reported on February 11, 2024the bad: you have to actually make contact with a person to make reservations. almost impossible to do. it took me three phone calls, leaving two voicemails, sending two emails over the course of two weeks to actually have a person finally answer the third phone call. annoying. i wish they had online reservations.
the good: this place is the best rv park in the area. full hookups (water, 50 amp, sewer) with an amazing view. each site has a picnic table and a fire pit with a rock border. there’s a community center just for rv residents which include laundry, a pool, and a tv room, all very nice and clean ($2 to run a load of laundry). they even have a large (but dusty) dog park. dog bag stations are placed all around the park. you have access to the resort, which is across the street. very nice bar called the thirsty goat there. definitely go in for a drink. some sites are close together, but others look like they have some good spacing for privacy. its a roll of the dice on what you get. they also have some great wifi. we were able to watch all our streaming shows with no problems, speeds around 12 mbps. no cell service with at&t or verizon and no ota channels using our antenna. we were only 25 minutes away from the starlight theatre restaurant in terlingua and maybe 45 minutes from the west entrance of big bend national park. we were also about 45 minutes away from the trails in big bend ranch state park which run off the highway ( hoodoos trail and closed canyon trail are a must!).

We stayed here as our base camp for both the state and national park adventures. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The sites are setup buddy style but there is a lot of distance between you and your neighbor you face but pretty close on connection side. This is a dark sky area so you will see stars like you haven't seen before. The RV Park is part of a bigger resort and golf course but you have access to all the shops and resturants/bars (Logan in the tristy goat really knows his drinks)that are onsite. We will be staying here again. Nice laundry facilities, and a great dog park.

We stayed here April 1-10, 2021, and paid the weekly rate. It is a great RV park. Check-in could not have been easier. Our site (#94) was on the end of a row and had a shade tree, which many sites do not. There are several trails that leave right from the campground. The campground is part of the 27,000-acre Lajitas Golf Resort, with all resort amenities available to RVers. The fiber optic Internet ROCKS! We had just one bar of AT&T cellular but could easily make and receive phone calls using WiFi calling. Streaming was a breeze on our smart TV. NO buffering! Visitors can board their horse(s) at the resort equestrian center, if needed. If you're not a golfer but would still like to see the course and its scenery, you can rent a golf cart from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on weekdays for $25/person. It took us over an hour just to drive the course, and we felt it was well worth the time and money. The Lajitas store is part of the resort; and while things are kind of pricey, it is well stocked and a good resource if you need something. This campground is conveniently located between the state park and the national park. The laundry area is clean, air conditioned; and all washers and dryers worked ($2/washer, $2/dryer/ $1.25 Tide). If your dates are flexible, plan your visit during the new moon so the stars are more visible. It is a Dark Skies area. We will definitely stay here again when we return on a future visit. Tips: (1) If you plan to visit Big Bend National Park, the fuel in the park was $1/gallon cheaper than at the resort store. (2) This entire area is in the Central time zone, even though AT&T changed all of our devices to Mountain time. We had to manually change all of our Apple devices.

Great location between parks. Access to the golf resort, restaurant, all resort facilities which are top notch is included in daily rate. Hiking trails, or just about any other activity I can think of is available along with partnerships with local desert sports outfits. Well maintained, not too noisy, friendly. You can't go wrong.

I agree with all previous comments...except we found the wifi to be very iffy. Meaning at times it was unavailable and spotty. Being in south west Texas at the end of May means H O T and W I N D Y.
A must if you have the time is the drive to Presido. Even if you only drive 20 miles of the 60 and turn around you will not be disappointed by the views and change of geography.
I am rating it a 4.5 because of the wifi.

Affordable. All utilities worked, though there were a few power surges (likely due to a few storms in the area). Wi-Fi was blazing fast, exceeding 60Mbps down and 20Mbps up. Highly recommended.

The RV park was nice, the golf course spectacular, the staff were efficient if not overly friendly, and the pool, well it sucked. Freezing cold and so slippery that it is unusable and a real safety hazard! I expected more from someone who bills themselves as a top notch "Resort". There are even signs posted with regards to the slippery nature of the pool. Needed two planks to level the RV in the site. The site was huge though.
Good access to Big Bend Ranch State Park.
Terrible local grocery store unless you only want beer, snack food, or some bread. The bread was great! Fruit and vegetable section was about six items. Much better grocery store down the road in Terlingua.
Here are a few other side notes:
1) I called the restaurant to make a reservation. No return call.
2) I called the resort to enquire about an early check in. Yup, no return call.
3) I find it offensive that a symbol of slavery from the Civil War is prominently displayed at the golf course. Really, a statue of General Robert E. Lee? You have got to be kidding me. How insensitive is the ownership group at this facility.
No surprise, but I will not be returning for this reason.
Like I said, at least the RV park was nice!

Maverick Ranch RV Park, Lajitas, TX was a well earned splurge after 10 nights of dry camping in both Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park. In this video, we give you a walking tour of Maverick Ranch RV Park and show you why it is worth a splurge. Free WIFI clocked in at 20.5 Mbps download speed and 17.0 Mbps upload speed. Verizon cellular service was 3G and a speed test failed. AT&T cellular service clocked in at 0.76 Mbps download speed and 0.06 Mbps upload speed. T-Mobile cellular service clocked in at 10.8 Mbps download speed and 5.55 Mbps upload speed.

I was excited to stay here and use Camp Mode on my Tesla. This is the first RV Park to ever turn us away. Luckily there are several other RV Parks in the region that were welcoming.
Nice park with some amenities; pool, laundry, free coffee, etc. Check in at office, office has some RV supplies for sale. Some sites have a great view of the mountains. Not much in the immediate area, there is a general store down from the park entrance. Maverick Ranch is 85 miles from Alpine. Road in is a little rough but not terrible.
Big Bend Ranch State Park is next to Maverick Ranch. Big Bend Nat Park is a 30-1 hour drive, depending on which part of the park you want to visit. Highly recommend going to the Chosis Basin, its a completely different environment. We also hiked the Santa Elena Canyon, well worth the drive.
AT&T cell service was marginal, 2 bars of 4G. We streamed off the park wifi which worked well. No noise at night except coyotes.
