There aren't many places to camp along I-76 in eastern Colorado, so your choices are limited. The campsites at Emerald RV Park are level gravel with water/electric and full hookups and mature cottonwood/poplar trees; nice clean restrooms. We arrived late and the host, who had left for the day, kindly came back to take care of us. Don't stay here if you are looking for a scenic interlude, but do stop if you want a really good steak dinner at the Flame Steakhouse attached to the Shell gas station which is within walking distance. The steaks (which are pretty much all they serve) were awesome and the place was busy well into the evening. Excellent food and good service.

This resort is very close to I-35, so if you don't like hearing traffic noise this location is not for you. If possible request sites that are towards the back of the facility. Would have preferred to stay at McKinney Falls State Park, but it was fully booked! Resort clean and well maintained and within easy reach of downtown Austin and the State Capitol. If you are not familiar with the frontage road system, be very careful as the resort's entrance is almost immediately after you exit the I-35 off-ramp. If you miss it you will have to go around some miles for a second attempt!!

A busy campground that caters to ATV users. Lots of big mature trees and plenty of summer shade. Adequate spacing between sites with grass medians. Lots of ATV activity during the day but very quiet at night. Nice newly remodeled restrooms and a well stocked shop.

North of I-90 surrounded by agricultural fields, this is a quiet location and a good place to camp while visiting the area.

We needed a good place for a quick overnight stop on our way to our final destination in Montana and this fit the bill. A nice quiet campground, sufficiently far from the interstate to cut down on traffic noise but easily accessible. Warm welcome from friendly staff. The shaded, pull-through site had full hookups and was a good distance from the adjacent sites.

Stayed here in April, 2019. Very conveniently located for visiting the San Antonio Missions NHP and downtown SA. Sites are closely spaced, but separated by grassy medians. Recommend pull-through sites for larger RVs and trailers. Quiet, clean and well maintained location even for a city. Nice laundry facilities. Friendly and courteous staff.

We visited this area in April 2019 and were blown away (both literally and figuratively) by the scenery, flora and fauna. The RV park features widely spaced full hookup sites, mostly pull-through, situated head-to-tail. Only 24 of the sites have cable and the Wi-Fi is iffy, but the location and its surroundings more than makes up for the lack of digital entertainment. There isn't much shade (it's the desert after all), but the views of the surrounding hills are splendid. We had a site towards the back for the campground and it was super quiet. For dining experiences you can walk across the street to the Lajitas Ranch or drive 12 miles to the kitschy 'Starlight Theatre' restaurant in Terlingua Ghost Town (don't miss it!). The RV park has excellent laundry facilities, clubhouse and swimming pool, and the staff are friendly and helpful. This is a Dark Sky area and the night skies are absolutely stunning. We were there during a very windy period (even the locals commented on the extraordinary weather), but it didn't spoil our total enjoyment of this wonderfully remote part of Texas. We will be back!

Easy access off I-80. After a day of driving through Nebraska in torrential rain we were glad to get quickly to our pull-through campsite - thanks Kamp hosts. It rained and stormed all night and we left early the next morning, so didn't even get a chance to explore the camp. Lots of big trees and adequate spacing between the sites. Very quiet (apart from the thunder).

There aren't many places to camp in Las Cruces, but this KOA is a gem. Situated on the bluff north of I-10 the back-in sites have a marvelous view to the east over the Rio Grande valley towards the Organ Mountains. The campground is far enough from the freeway and surface streets so there is no real traffic noise, and yet just a few minutes drive to downtown LC and Old Mesilla. However - being on the bluff it can be very windy (and dusty), but don't let that spoil your visit. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the campground is well maintained. Gravel base, a few small trees and utilitarian picnic tables. Campground Wi-Fi not so great! Definitely choose a "view site" for the best experience.

We stayed here so we could visit Carlsbad Caverns NP. It's not exactly close, being 18 miles from Carlsbad and another 30-odd miles to the park. The campsite is large and the gravel sites are level, pull through and spaced well apart, which was nice. We visited in April 2019, and due to the oil/gas boom in the Permian Basin nearby, many of the campsites appeared more permanently occupied by oilfield workers and their families. This KOA is located along the now busy Hwy 285, so there is some traffic noise. The location is flat and exposed and therefore very windy/dusty. Camp staff were friendly and welcoming and we did opt for their on-site BBQ one night which was very good. However the tap water, despite multiple filtrations, tasted pretty bad, so don't rely on your in-line filter. Campground Wi-Fi better than most. Check out Milton's Brewing in Carlsbad for friendly locals and good beer.
