We needed a quick overnight stop on a Friday night and decided last minute to try this boondocking location after reading the other Campendium reviews.

We made it just in time to see an excellent sunset, gorgeous views, and wild horses.

The road was a bit bumpy due to washboarding, but overall good access. No pot holes or large rocks. We passed the main camping area and continued up the road (2 rigs already there). We camped on a large pullout spot with interpretive panels. I’m the morning, we had to continue another mile or so up in order to turn our rig around to head back down. I suspect if we kept on going, we probably could have found a better turnaround.

We had better cell signal with Verizon and over the air TV channels than we did at most campgrounds.

Order some breakfast at Peggys Diner at the bottom of the hill. There is plenty of RV parking in their dirt lot!

Great place to pull over and rest. Their pet area is nice and the were plenty of spots on a Friday afternoon. We were able to open our slides and have lunch while my husband finished up his work day.

We chose to stay here for a month and our plan was to do Disney World with some weekend trips down to Fort Meyers and Miami- maybe the Keys- while we just kept our rig here. Well that plan came to a screeching halt with COVID. We ended up spending the entire month in a progressive shut down mode. By the time we left, all the amenities were closed- much like the rest of the country.
I am so glad we stayed here though, because they were awesome!!! The first week of our stay, everything was open. I can say that the pool, dog park, playground, Pickle ball courts, and market were everything I needed to give 5 stars. The staff was so helpful in keeping our 2 parties/rigs right next to each other and even gave us a discount on premium sites just to keep us with our parents.
This place really feels like a resort with the lagoon, amenities, events, DJs, etc.
Sites 145-153 are great and quiet. I would also ask to drive around and view the available sites before checking in, as this can make or brake your stay. I read some of the reviews before coming in and I was a little nervous about our stay, especially with it being a month long. There are some sites that shouldn’t even be sites and some that are mixed in with permanent residents who have not kept up with their mobile home/rigs.
Hope this helps someone!!
Happy Camping.

We found this place while on the road and planned to stay for a few nights only. They were very flexible in accommodating us and overall super friendly. Their camp store is so cute with all kinds of fun little souvenirs. Their breakfast burritos were worth the 6.75 or something close to that. We ordered a bacon and chorizo burrito...yummmm!! It was within a few minutes of everything we wanted to do in Flagstaff, yet we really felt like we were camping in the woods and not in the city center.
Hookups were fine (30amp) and they have brand new washers and dryers. My favorite part was the kids playground. It was a nice option to let the kids work out their wiggles outside of our trailer. Wish they had a pet area- only recommendation.
We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in April and came in last minute as an impromptu visit on our way to Flagstaff. It is a parking lot with full hookups, but it’s proximity to the South Rim gate is awesome. We also pulled in after a long drive and it was super easy to just go to the well supplied general store that also has a Starbucks attached. The staff was friendly and hookups are working great. WiFi code did not work and the office closed before we could ask for help. Oh well!

What a gorgeous place. We stayed overnight on the way to DC. Very tight coming in through trees, but if we could do it with a 42ft rig, mostly anyone can. We were also traveling with a 40ft class A that had a tow vehicle. Site 63 and 65 are long enough to accommodate a large rig, but are on a tight turn. Ask for something in the high 60s or 70s if you need easier access. 50amp service and water for 28/night on a weekend can’t be beat. ATT 1 bar LTE is spotty at the very best. Great place for kayaking, fishing, or boating. Super family friendly.

How can you beat gorgeous and free? We pulled in at dusk as an overnight stop and did not get an actual spot. The camp host was nice enough to help us get parked close to the boat ramp- with still amazing views. We got in to a beautiful parking spot in time for sunset.

We, like most, stayed here only for its proximity to the city. Great freeway access and a Safeway within walking distance. I gave it 2 stars only because of the good customer service and location. On a negative note, I have never seen so many signs and rules in an RV park- there was a sign for everything they didn’t want you to do (don’t dye your hair in the bathroom, don’t leave your laundry more than 5 min, don’t park here or we will tow you, no pay no stay, no kids on the folding table, and so on. All of these things are valid concerns, but come on?! It feels so rigid and unwelcoming. Also, there is absolutely the least pet friendly place I have ever stayed in our 7 months of full time RVing. They say they have a pet walk, but it is actually just a grass area in the front of the property that you have to walk your pet all the way out of the park in order to get to. We were the farthest site from the pet area and our dogs were rarely able to make it to the grass before relieving themselves on the asphalt- there was a sign against that as well. Not likely to stay again or recommend.

What a beautiful place. Coming from Southern California, we are used to tight packed stalls and very busy campgrounds. Our campsite (13) backed the foothills where our dog was able to run and dig to her hearts content. We had a nice view of the water and of the endless red sand. If you are bothered by noise, the Sand Pit camp area is not for you. We took what was available. There are UTVs all over and road noise. It doesn’t bother us as we have 2 loud children and like to run our generator for all the comforts of home. We were able to run the dogs right down to the water and take out the paddle boards and kayaks. All that you could need is just a 20 min drive in to St George and Walmart is just a few minutes down the road. Bathrooms are a little like what I would imagine jail bathrooms to be like, but I’ll take all the free hot water I can get! :)
