Easy to get to from the interstate. Huge (wide & long) concrete pads. Grass between sites. Picnic tables. Super nice Rec & laundry rooms. Showers & laundry very clean.

No shade as it’s newer park. Don’t care for the waiver stuff they require. No cable tv but got a lot of local channels.

Nice little store inside where office is. Have bags of ice for purchase as well as propane.

Nicer new park with very friendly staff, but we would not stay in spot 28 again as it appeared to be one of, if not the only site with pad level issue & absolutely terrible sewer dump placement.

The utilities & and sewer drain were placed at the back third of the site instead of near the middle like most places have them. Your rv pad extension (where the picnic table & grill is located) is on 1 side of site drive almost to the end of the drive, while the hookups (& especially the dump drain) are on the opposite side of your driveway and located toward the entrance to the site i.e. in order to use your site's patio you could be 35-40' away from the sewer drain. Our rig's black & gray drain pipe location is biased all the way to the left rear of our coach (which actually helps to put the connection closer to the dump drain of the site) & yet the hose we always use with no issues at all other campgrounds ended up not being remotely long enough to connect here. This necessitated driving to Walmart & having to fuss with connecting 2 hoses together etc, at night, after a long day's drive.

No wifi covering the park, staff said only works inside the clubhouse.

We had to put leveling blocks on the right hand side of our rig at the site which is baffling given this park was brand new in 2020.

Noise at night & in the evenings was zero issue & for that matter we don't consider USAF jet noise a nuisance but rather 'the sound of freedom' anyway.

Convenient (walking distance) to commissary, BX, & ITT office. Most of those have banker's hours, but they're right there for your use if within their operating windows.

Very nice / new base gas station a stone's throw away. Combined Class-6, a Burger King, and tons of food/drink options contained within. The only drag is that we didn't see any RV supplies in this store or the BX.... kind of baffling given how big the RV park is & it's right near both the BX & the shoppette gas station. Pump islands are big-rig friendly & they have diesel.

Getting there: Must enter with your RV via the South Gate. Kind of a PITA as that gate is on opposite side of the base from the RV park which necessitates traveling north on the base & using the overpass to get to the other side of base where the RV park is (the base is split by a city street). We found the entry point kind of tight for RV stuff based on where curbing is located, but did make it thru the gate 'funnel' without scraping anything.

Tip: A handy gate during daytime / evenings with your truck or toad (not RVs) is the "Lightning Gate" which is on the opposite side of Litchfield Street & opposite the base's "North Gate". The Lightning gate takes you right into the base close to the base gas station & RV park. This is a great choice for in/out of Luke when you're going out & about in your pickup or toad car.

Can see where this base and the park itself would be a royal pain to deal with if one wasn't a .mil I.D. card holder (hassle factor) but it was ok for us as retiree I.D. card holders.

Other note: The base is a LONG way away from most things interior to Phx proper & even further away from places like Tempe & Scottsdale. It took us 50 min on average to transit from the base to these other areas within the greater Phoenix metro area. Ubering or such to anything outside of the football stadium (which is relatively close to the base) would cost an arm & leg. If you're going to be doing biz or recreating on the east side of the Phx area I would say this campground is not a good fit.

Our neighbors picnic table was literally 6” from the side of our coach & more or less had to be due to the narrow configuration. The row we were in did not have people parked with doors facing each other like mentioned in a previous review. This KOA shares a patch of ground with full-timers & is in an old housing area with nothing nearby.

Over $50 for 30-amp dirt site with neighbor on top of us isn’t something we’d gravitate to again. Best thing is it’s not near any train tracks as so many parks are along these I-40 towns.

Cable TV worked good & about 40 channels. Pool closed for winter but hot tub was in use.

Easy access on/off the fwy. Friendly.staff. WiFi worked awesome. Great cable TV. Free popcorn in office. Little office store has quite a bit of stuff (food & basic supplies). Pool & hot tub looked nice. Bathrooms / showers clean but old. Can hear fwy noise but not terrible. Need long water hose & power cord if sited in spot that faces your neighbors. Great restaurants, breweries, & ice cream (Farr) within 3-5 min drive. Park is clean, looks as good as it did 10+ years ago.

A corral'd in lot at the base of 1 end of the Coral Pink Dunes. Camped here many times over the years while off-roading at the dunes. There's no services here, no 'sites', & it's not controlled i.e. sometimes people will be camped 2 - 3' beside you in their toyhaulers (with their sand toys). It can be dusty, muddy, & loud. Also, Ranger's &/or Sheriff dept used to swing by here, not sure if they still do. The state park campground a little bit down the road is very nice for a campground of that type (showers are amazingly clean) but it's not free. Bottom line: If you pull up here be prepared to be right in the middle of dozens of off-roaders as this is an off-road use area that's heavily used between late spring & early fall.

Not far from a boondocking experience in a place with no WiFi, cell phone coverage, or TV reception, but for good money. Staff is friendly. Easy access off the interstate.

We had to work off a wood pile in the middle of the grassy area of the property to get any WiFi connectivity. Their WiFi antenna placed so it only points toward some sites. No WiFi signal even on the office porch. Essentially no ATT nor T-Mobile service good enough to get internet either. No cable TV, no over the air TV reception here.

Gravel sites. Grass in between. No mats allowed on grass. Two big, but open (not fenced) grassy dog run areas. No inside area for guests other than small laundry area.

Essentially we paid to have power, water & sewer in a park with no amenities & not near anything. For those reasons we’d not stay here again.

Note. If you’re heading southbound in your travels get fuel in Dillon as there’s essentially no good fuel options for a very long way from this park south.

Pros: Very clean, very quiet. Staff was friendly on phone & in person. Nice little patio area attached to each site. Fantastic cable TV channel lineup. Good paved roads to walk dogs.

Cons:

Only non-primitive CG I've been to in 2+ decades of RVing that had no restrooms. No showers, no toilet facilities... not even for use when you're at the office. No guest or public bathroom facilities, period.

No Internet.

No tables in the sites. The location of the utilities was all the way to the rear of the site. Barely had enough electrical cord to reach pedestal, barely had enough sewer hose to reach drain, same with hose slinky.

Also Odd: Office is completely closed on weekends. Sewer hoses cannot touch the ground (must be elevated on a slinky or something else to keep them from touching the ground). Vast majority of people here appeared to be full-timers. Didn't / doesn't bother us as there was very few old/decrepit RVs on the grounds that we noticed.

Checked in thru 'guard shack' & got into site no problems. Camp hosts were all over anyone new arriving even if the guard post was manned. Was shocked they allowed fires and were even selling firewood given how much of the west is under restriction. Quiet hours 10pm - 6am. No dump station on site but there's one on way back to St George that's free of charge (about 10-15min drive from the camp sites).

Very friendly dealing with these folks on the phone & very friendly upon check in. The host even checked 2 of us in during his lunch hour. First look you may think the sites couldn't be level with the slope of the property but they are. About 15-20min walk to a couple of museums & many restaurants, bars, & 2 nice breweries.

Some freeway noise as you're close to I-40 but nothing that bothered us. Also, the place works old-school, no internet reservations etc. Drive is paved, sites are gravel.

Good place for an overnight / would stay again for sure.

Nice store, office, pool/spa, & sites. Every site has a fire pit & nice aluminum picnic table. 20 or so cable channels. Nice grass around the sites. Wifi was decent. This has been a well-run place for a long time now. Not the cheapest but it’s super nice. Downside: Not located within walking distance to any attraction / activity. Rate listed includes Good Sam discount.
