Actually, we wanted to stay more than one night. It was overcast, windy and drizzly so the view was a bit compromised, but we enjoyed it still with our big rig blocking the wind and a fire pit going. We did have to unhook the Jeep to get turned around and positioned for departure, but the peace and quiet along with the view are worth it. It's really not that far out of your way heading east or west, and the roads off I-10 to the spot are good. There's space enough for 4-5 rigs, and we had the whole overlook to ourselves all night. Very little traffic going by and wild goats wandering around the surrounding hills/mesas. Cell service was good on both Verizon and AT&T. This overnight spot is a great option in that part of west TX where there are few other options. We will definitely keep this on our favorite's list. www.ourepicfieldtrip.com
We paid the monthly rate of $550 for 22 nights at a pull-thru site. This park is brand new and very clean with level cement pad sites. The owners are very friendly and super accommodating in all matters. We were able to receive numerous packages here and were able to check in after hours with no issues. There's a small pool, a bit of playground equipment, and a fenced in dog area. The laundry facility is spacious and adjoins the fitness room and game room which is very thoughtful and convenient. The only negatives for this park is the complete lack of shade and noise from the nearby busy road. Shade and noise always weigh heavily in our rating and are the reasons for the overall 3-star rating. Everything else about this park is great.

This campground is conveniently located if you're traveling between Houston and Corpus Christi. It's easily accessible and big rig friendly. All sites are pull through and equipped with full hook ups. The park has no amenities other than hook ups and a dump station. It's in a quiet part of town and adjacent to the city park area. There are plenty of walking paths in the city park area, and lots of wildlife (deer and birds). The Guadalupe River is not far with the potential for kayaking. There's a historic tour around town you can do from your car, and Aero Crafters is a cool place for dinner. Corpus Christi and Port Aransas are potential day trips. There's no reservation system - it's first-come first-serve, and you pay by envelope in the drop box. Normally, there's a 14-day stay limit. We were able to stay longer because we were working a mapping project for the city, and also we were there during the March/April 2020 COVID 19 shut down. This park is independently owned and pretty small with just 38 sites. We enjoyed this campground very much. Owners are very friendly and accommodating. The very shady grounds were a nice relief from the August Georgia heat, and the small size and adequate distance from the interstate made for plenty of peace and quiet. Amenities include bath house and laundry facility. Gravel roads, easy pull through sites. We reserved a one-night stay 6 weeks in advance for the Friday night of Memorial Day Weekend. We received a call 2 weeks before our stay telling us they won't honor the reservation because they've decided to impose a three-night minimum for the holiday weekend. We would either have to come a day early or cancel the reservation. Many times we could be flexible, but this is one time we're not due to family and business commitments. Now, of course, it's impossible to get a night at another park. We can't speak to the experience staying at the park, but be advised that your reservation is very loose and there may be last minute changes in policies.

*** We paid the monthly rate *** So many campgrounds in this area are geared to weekend tailgating due to proximity of Texas A&M. This is a nice alternative if you can tolerate the 1 mile washboard unpaved road to get there. Homey, country chic shared spaces (covered outdoor seating area, barn, grounds). Owners are very accommodating and friendly. More details in blog post at https://ourepicfieldtrip.wpcomstaging.com/2018/11/30/campground-reviews-pecan-haven-rv-campground-caldwell-tx/

It takes about 45 minutes down fairly curvy roads to get to this campground from I-10. The staff are very friendly, but there are a LOT of rules. The first of many TT parks that have actually asked for our membership card. Of course, it's first come first serve as with most TT parks. The problem with this one is that so many sites are out of order so it took a while to find a decent site, and it seems the nicer looking, open spots were mostly out of order. There's a mix of full hook-up and electric/water sites, with limited availability for 50 amp. Waterfront sites do not have sewer, but there is a honey wagon service for $20. The campground loops and sites are not very well maintained. Lots of low hanging and protruding branches, and things just generally look dated and unkempt. The clubhouse / activity center is currently closed due to a wildlife infestation of some sort. Sounds like it will be closed most of the season. We did not visit the bathrooms. There is propane fill-up for $3/gallon There are lots of wild deer roaming the park. Will probably try this park again next season hoping for improvements, as the surrounding area seems like a good place to explore. www.ourepicfieldtrip.com

We had reliable full hook ups wtih 50 Amp service at our site. While the concrete patios were in good shape and large, the overall sites are very small. This led to your neighbors’ hook ups being right next to your patio. Overall OK if passing through or spending time in Bowling Green for other reasons. Alsatian RV Resort is in a great location for enjoying the numerous activities available around San Antonio and Texas Hill Country. Situated just 30 minutes west of San Antonio and about 90 minutes from the center of Texas Hill Country, this campground is a great option for a home base. We stayed at Alsatian RV Resort for three nights in May 2020. Get more details at our blog post: https://ourepicfieldtrip.com/2020/06/06/alsatian-rv-resort-castroville-tx-campground-review/
