We stayed here in the Swift Puma loop in August of 2021. We had a magnificent view of Colorado Springs (very cool at night with the lights of the city -- no super-darkness here, if that's what you're looking for) and some awesome weather- and sky-watching. Our site was level and wonderful once we were backed into it, but it was quite a drop getting into it. They had firewood for sale at the park, so we picked some up and enjoyed a couple fires. Amazingly, this is a state park with full hook-ups, including electricity, water, and sewer. We took advantage of the laundry area while we were there. We visited a couple tourist sites in Colorado Springs, including Garden of the Gods and the National Museum of World War II Aviation. There were great trails in the park, though only those nearest the campsites allowed dogs. The site was hot during the day (no shade) and we couldn't always have our awning out because it could be pretty windy and a couple pretty intense storms blew through while we were there. Thankfully, that's where AC can come in! We enjoyed good internet access. Don't know if you could work there as far as internet speed, it wasn't something we needed to do. We enjoyed hearing taps played from the nearby army base; some folks might find that bothersome. We enjoyed being able to purchase firewood at the park for a couple campfires. Do keep in mind the fee (in addition to the regular reservation campsite fee) Colorado charges for its parks. We went ahead bought a one-year pass because we knew we'd use it.

Great spot for an overnight stop as long as you can get there before it fills up. We camped here one night in August 2021. There were only three sites left when we arrived around 4:30p, they were all filled shortly after arriving. It was convenient to have electricity (especially with the 90+ degree Kansas summer weather) and water and dump availability. Very reasonable fee (self-pay) for services available. We got a pizza before heading into the park at a Godfather's at the truck stop directly off I-70 before hitting the campground -- convenient for a treat! Pretty river adjacent to the campground.

Yes, it was pretty much a parking lot, but we sure enjoyed the tugs and barges on the river, the views of downtown, the nighttime lighting, and the super-close-by bike path! Would highly recommend this park if you enjoy these things. Wish we had arranged an extra night or two to do some downtown tourism activities and ride further on our bikes.

The park was ready for us when we got there with a no-contact packet. We made our way to our full service (W/E/S) site, got hooked up and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. We didn't check out any of their facilities as we had no need for them.

I don't recall how we heard about this park, but we're sure happy we found it!

We stayed two nights at this campground just outside Gardiner, Montana (and super-close to Yellowstone's north entrance). The two miles up the mountain from Gardiner on the somewhat-washboarded gravel road weren't too bad. Glad it wasn't actually a very long drive! The road was wide enough that two cars were safely able to pass in opposing directions. We never had to drive it in rain, so I don't know whether there might have been any effect from that. This was dry camping, but we didn't have any trouble at all having plenty of sun to charge via our solar panels. We filled up with potable water at the Gardiner Sinclair just north of Gardiner. The water was free, but they did charge $20 to dump, which we felt was a fair trade-off. We were happy to have fresh water and a nice dump station so close to the campsite. We were in a grassy, pull-through site that required only front-to-back leveling. With my husband's Golden Age Pass discount, we only paid $7.50 per night for our camping. We arrived about 11:30a and had our choice of several sites. All sites were taken both nights by about 3p.

Two male elk came into the campground each evening and wandered around eating. For a couple hours. :) There are horse corrals at the campground, so maybe they're what contributed to the extreme number of biting flies. They made things miserable between mid-morning and mid-evening. We met a really friendly young couple and got to chat quite a bit with them. They said they came frequently to Eagle Creek, since they only lived two hours outside Jackson, Wyoming. They told us that in May and September the flies weren't nearly so bad. We'd definitely go back and try again if we could try in any month other than high summer.

We went into town one morning and enjoyed a yummy brunch at Yellowstone Grill. Check out their sausage and biscuits! Yum!

We really enjoyed our stay here in mid-July. We stayed in the A Loop where we did use our generator a couple days for an hour or two to cool our camper down in the late afternoon. Other than that, we got by just fine using our solar panels --- plenty of sun exposure for that. The woman who checked us in cautioned us big-time about being cautious with food (even dish soap) in regard to bears and said one had been visiting the area. It's the bear that pays for tangles with humans, so we definitely paid attention to that.

The surface at our campsite was a nice recently done asphalt. We enjoyed the proximity to Jackson (went to the Jackson Hole rodeo and to a grocery store) and to the Tetons (enjoyed rafting, scenery, hiking that they offered). It was a pleasant walk down to the river; unfortunately we didn't get to see any moose there. There were kids riding their bikes and people walking around the campground, but none of it was a bother to us. They didn't get into our personal site space. We only had phone service. There was a nice firepit and a very raggedy picnic table at our site. We didn't risk having any fires in our site due to the surrounding sagebrush feeling a bit too close to our fire pit.

I'd agree with previous reviewers that the dump station/water fill set up could be designed better. The way the water fill and the two dump stations are all lined up and that fact that you can't pass someone ahead of you to leave or to get into a space ahead that emptied is a goofy set-up.

We loved our stay at Grayton Beach State Park back in April/May. Weather was perfect day after day, beach was amazingly beautiful. The beach was about 3/4 mile from our campsite, so we either rode our bikes or drove there every day. The water was chilly, but not awful at that time of year. As mentioned by others, there are great bike paths all around the area.

We stayed in the newer loop and didn't have any issues with it not feeling private enough. The folks around us were considerate and there were a fair amount of trees and bushes around us. We used the washer and dryer in our loop a couple times, which was super-convenient. Our site was level and easy to get set up in.

The area surrounding the park could get quite congested with traffic and people -- I can't imagine 30A in the summer! We mainly just enjoyed hanging out at the gorgeous beach and riding our bikes.

It's really difficult to get reservations, but go for it. So worth it! Watch the site lengths, particularly in the older loop. The sites there look much more private and are lovely, but some of them didn't look nearly large enough to accommodate a large 5th wheel or a Class A unit. Most would have been fine for our 26-ft camper, but that would have been the limit for several of them.

We were able to snag a 5-night reservation here in August of '21. The park is clean and beautiful, the sites are very nicely laid out with a degree of privacy and space between most of them. Our site had a view of Pike's Peak (somewhere on Revenuer's Ridge, don't remember exact site number). There is potable water available to fill your freshwater tank within the camping loop -- the sites in our loop only had electrical hook-ups. Site was very nicely leveled and situated. There were several activities available for the public while we were there, including a quick watercolor lesson with a ranger, and music and guest speakers a couple evenings at the park's amphitheatre. Internet was very good. The park isn't too far from Colorado Springs, so we drove there to take the cog train up Pike's Peak (make a reservation ahead of time). Take advantage of this wonderful park if you get the chance. Hiking, great views, and wildlife abound. Colorado does charge a nightly fee that you pay when entering the state parks in addition to the actual camping fees -- be sure to keep that in mind as part of the cost. We were staying long enough and intending to go to other state parks as well, so we went ahead and paid for a year's worth of the extra fee -- just be prepared.
