My husband and daughter attended a couple ranger lead programs and enjoyed the visitor center. Unfortunately, our 9 year old had a rough time with altitude sickness as we had made a quick trip across the Midwest from Virginia and straight up the mountain. We weren't able to do the hiking we had planned. This park is a steep but easy drive from Colorado Springs, The Garden of the Gods, and Pikes Peak. I would love to return one day.
Road from Colorado Springs to the park is a bit steep.

First you are camping at approximately 9,300 feet and I had a family member experience altitude sickness also. But the campground is big and beautiful, with most (all) sites having privacy via trees. There are back in and pull thru sites.
I experienced different cell service at each site, site 13 had good Verizon service (2 bars LTE) and television service, whereas when I moved to Site #1, I had barely any service or TV reception. Not sure if this would happen on every CG loop or not.
Some of sites have such great views of Pikes Peak, thinking I love you, site #34 and #41. Don't know the pad length of #34, but #41 is a pull-thru.
So I only give this a 4 rating because the hiking trails are not open to dogs. I can tell you they sure looked nice and would have loved to enjoy them.

This is a beautiful Colorado state campground with miles of hiking trails, none of which allow you to bring your dogs on them. We camped in the winter time so the dump station and water was shut off, but they had electric hookups and it was peaceful and beautiful. Situated in a great spot for forest service access hiking, biking, etc. Rated site quality a bit low as they are rather small sites, most of which are close together. But we were the sole Campers in mid-March.

We have camped here numerous times. This time was over Memorial Day, 2017. Meuller is the Crown jewel of Colorado's State Parks for us. It represents what the Colorado Rocky Mountains is all about.
The vistas are tremendous. You can see all the way to the Sangre De Christo and the San Juan mountain ranges. Numerous trails for hiking. Watch out for altitude sickness as the sites are at 9400'.
We saw fox and deer from our site.
The sites are beautifully maintained and well separated for privacy. The hosts were super friendly.
Cell signal was 2-3 bars on AT&T.

Verdant forest, granite peaks, and peaceful meadows fill Mueller State Park, making this one of the most beautiful places we have ever camped. Wildlife came right through our site, including a red fox and several mule deer. With super cheap campsites and 50 miles of trails, this park will definitely draw us back again and again.
The campsites are a mix of pull-thru and back-in sites. Most are in the woodlands; however, a few campsites offer stunning mountain views. Pike's Peak rises in the distance in front of sites #1-5, while sites #8-9 overlook other peaks. If you visit in the fall when the aspens turn gold, sites #94-95 will be top picks.
State park facilities can sometimes be iffy, but Mueller's laundry room, restrooms, and showers were all very clean. Wifi and cell coverage vary greatly around the park, with some sites having no connectivity, while others get a decent signal. Be sure to stop at the visitor center to learn about the trails and the park's flora and fauna. The naturalist-led hikes are terrific. We did have trouble hiking due to the elevation, so we took it easy.
This park is 15 minutes from the super tiny town of Divide, which has a small grocery store and a few local restaurants. Woodland Park is 30 minutes away and offers a larger variety of amenities. While the park is not super convenient to Colorado Springs, it is less than an hour away, making it a doable drive if you want to check out all that CS offers.

First off, all camper spots have electricity so NO generator noise!!!!! Really quiet. Yay! Vault toilets and water spigots throughout the campground; flush toilets, showers and laundry facilities at a central location. Campground sports a Playground, an outdoor amphitheater, a paved main road, numerous hiking trails, and level gravel sites with adequate space in between. Many spots are “parallel” so your unit opens toward forest or meadow, some of which have views of pikes peak. Nicely treed. High altitude can require some adjustment.

This is a must camp every year campground for our family. The sites are large and wide, but far enough apart to provide privacy. The hiking trails are great. We stayed in early October this year with a minimum number of other campers, but have also been here when the campground was full. Flush toilets/showers/laundry at camper services, a playground, and junior ranger talks make it ideal for families. Be prepared for any weather in the mountains.

We had a nice site semi private with deer & turkeys walking by from time to time. The best sites in our loop were 40, 41 then 36. We had electric yet filled with water when we arrived. They had a great view of Pikes Peak. We were there in Mid June 2018 and it hailed twice (small hail). It was cold at night, very nice during the day. Pikes Peak is not far from Muller what a great drive to the summit where it was cold. Garden of the Gods is close by it's a great way to spend a day.
There's a cute old town called Cripple Creek that's not to far. Other than that there is a small (little pricey) grocery store & a few places to eat close by. Mikes Barbecue is good, love his potato salad, smoked brisket & candied bacon. You have to ask for it he can't keep enough made it's a big hit.

With over 50 miles of trails, accessible from trailheads right around the campground, hikers can enjoy miles of forest, meadows, and views of Pike's Peak. The park is full of wildlife, and the visitor center has excellent resources for learning about plants and animals of the park, including multimedia displays like searchable databases of wildflowers and birds. We had regular visits to our site from deer and many kinds of birds.
The park has truly outstanding camping amenities. Sites are very nicely spread out along a ridge, giving campers an unusually large amount of personal space along with good views. The pull throughs along either side of the main campground road have the most space, since the "front porch" faces wilderness and not other campers. Sites are quite large on average and can accommodate even the biggest rigs (though some branches might overhang in some sites), sites are paved, and sites seem to all be very level in the middle even if entries are sloped. The camper services (bathhouse and laundry facilities) are modern and were spotless. The park offers multiple ranger-led activities per day during the summer, which seemed popular. Overall, just a great camping experience.
The nearby town of Divide is tiny, but Woodland Park is 20 minutes away and has Safeway, City Market, and Walmart, among other things. We used this park as a base to visit Florissant Fossil Beds and Colorado Springs (an hour's drive) which worked out well. Our price does not include the $8/day vehicle fee that's owing because we do not have the CO state pass, making the total $44/day.
On AT&T we had no service on our devices in our campsite, but our MyFi picked up several bars of 4G. Speeds were very inconsistent and lagged during business hours, but were better in early mornings and evenings/weekends. We found GREAT AT&T service in the area around camper services (e.g., sites 81, 82, 18, 20, 22). It seems to be hit or miss thanks to the undulating landscape.
